Lovely hotel, amazing staff, great location. The only thing we were left disappointed with was the use of a poor snake in their evening entertainment. The snake was stored in a small rucksack next to banging drums for hours before being crown into the screaming crowd to be passed around for serval pictures. I am left disappointing that this is allowed in this day and age.

We have spent the whole 2 weeks here and the experience is absolutely fantastic. The accommodation is great and given the fact that you would like to spend the majority of the time on the beach or on fantastic trips, nothing more is needed. The variety of food on offer is limited, but you always find something to eat that tastes delicious. Every day there was fresh fruit with fabulous pineapples, maracujas, watermelons, and others. Fresh, tasty, and sweet. The beach is well-serviced, clean, and large and the access to the sea is immediate. Masai can be a shock during your first days, but all of them are nice and polite, and respectful if you do not wish to talk with them. The sea was clean, but careful during the low-water period as there are many sea urchins. You can select from a large list of drinks but even better is to ask for special drinks as every person at the bar is keeping some recipes under the table. We fell in love with these and did not order anything else for at least a week. But the best part from my point of view was the people. One of a kind, always smiling, always happy to help and make the experience even more awesome. Each and every one of the people there walks an extra mile every day to put a smile on your face. The only thing is to ask, to share a bit of conversation and you can make friends incredibly quickly. Everyone can speak clear English, there was no problem solving any tiny detail or request. To sum up, this hotel is one-of-a-kind in many things, but the people there are absolutely lovely, friendly, and open-hearted. Thank you all for making this holiday something to remember for life!

My fourth time in Zanzibar and third at My Blue Hotel. This unique place seems to be really addictive with a beautifully maintained garden, comfortable sofas and armchairs by the pool, a beautiful beach, nice restaurants that give you the opportunity to take a break from the scorching sun. air conditioned rooms well planned with plenty of light, good curtains, large beds, spacious wardrobe, mini bar replenished daily. Meals served at the restaurants tasty and for me absolutely enough. Twice a week dinner served at the beach accompanied by local music group and performers. But - it's not just the setting that makes this place memorable - what makes this place feel like home is the staff. This time I am very grateful to have met George at the reception - a very professional, helpful, calm and respectful person. The one that will perfectly deal with guests and their needs. Thank you George! Also Harrison with whom I had only what's app contact :) Then Irene, Elias, Joseph whom I met first time last year :) and many others who made the time during meals more pleasant with short friendly chats and broad sincere smiles. Thank you! Excellent bartenders can easily guess what their customers like, what's more, they remember guests and their preferences. Thank you! I also highly appreciate not only help given by Shaaban from hotel's medical centre but also time spend on chatting while he was removing nasty spines of sea urchin from my toe. Thank you Shaaban. It was really nice to meet you. Shall I thank sea urchin for that opportunity? ;) I also would like to mention Jacobo, very kind Masaai employed by the hotel. Thank you for your smile :) All in all - everything was more than fine except for one thing - if every guest of My Blue likes this hotel as much as I do (and it looks like they do) and will come back again and again - soon the owner of the hotel will have to think about a similar one to guarantee a sufficient number of rooms :)

My Blue boutique hotel looks nice but it's not. The staff was nice but not very organized, and they often gave contradictory information or failed to provide the necessary information. The food was not good, and the mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable. Additionally, the shampoo and shower gel were never refilled, and we had to request them every time. Disappointing+

0/5. I was planning to give 2/5 because the hotel looks nice but, believe, the last night we had a nightmare adventure, so 0/5 is the highest score I can give. 1. Terrible kitchen. This is about all inclusive menu and a la carte. A la carte is even worse - it’s a little bit tastier but after each time we tried it - we had problems with stomach. And my birthday was ruined - I can’t sleep because of it. The an interesting feature- the menu items are different- Salad with mango and avacado was with different ingredients each time we ordered it 😂 and here I’ve eaten the most expensive potatoes- 30$ (we’ve couldn’t eat anything and just ate potatoes). 2. One more word about the kitchen- a lunch box 😂 two pieces of bread and a small pack of jam. That’s all😂😂😂 even no water😂 3. And the last one -RAT. The last night (just after my ruined birthday). The air conditioning broke done in the evening we came after my birthday dinner (in the different restaurant nearby - don’t eat in this hotel) and we requested to change the room, because nobody could fix it. They give us a different room - the toilet was broken)) but it wasn’t the main problem ‘cause we needed just a room to sleep, a bed to sleep. And then a rat woke up us. We’ve requested to solve our new problem - guess what?)) of course nothing. They couldn’t find a new room - they don’t know which rooms are available, only housekeepers know that and there is no housekeeper in the hotel at night. They couldn’t fix the air conditioning. So that told us that they’ve got rid of the rat in our “new room”. Guess what? It was a lie. Don’t waste you time and money here.

Its a beautiful hotel setting with true Zanzibar features. Rooms and very clean well maintained at all time with your fridge well stocked every day. Staff are very friendly and so helpful all the time. The food is always very fresh and it changers daily with a wide variety to choose from. The beach area and pools are kept clean and cleaned every day. Just a warning I have to tell everyone if you wash clothes check first as the account is in Euro's and not cheap at all. Take special shoes to swim in as there are sea urchins that hurt and the doctor is $300 a time. Just keep an eye on your diving equipment at all time, check it each day. But I would stay there again and again as we really enjoyed the hotel and its staff and how they made our stay very special. BUT dont fly with Kenya airways if you can help it.

Hotel: friendly staff, beautiful swimming pool, aircons in the rooms, comfortable beds make sure to take stuff for mosquitos although they do have netting over the bed. Beach bars are great, the beach is situated 5min walk from the hotel, drinks are served at the beach. Food: seafood and fish is great but the meat and chicken are not cooked very well. The salads are lovely. It's not a hotel for fussy eaters

I will attempt to write a review that I would have liked to see before my visit at the hotel. Location: The beach is gorgeous. I heard Nungwi is one of the best beaches in Tanzania, and I was not disappointed. The hotel is right on the beach so that was spectacular. At the hotel, there are many thatched umbrellas, on sand, which is very nice. You can sit there, read a book and have a cocktail. To be honest I was never in a position were we did not have a spot to relax, there was plenty of umbrellas for all. Food: We took the all inclusive package. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails, soft drinks. After buying lunch during the Stone Town excursion outside the hotel, we realized we made the right choice. Food in the city is overpriced in SA standards. For two adults and two kids, we spent $101 for a very basic meal, with small portions and no alcohol. The food at the hotel was average. If you are expecting prawns, mussels, etc. you will be disappointed. They do serve fish though. Zanzibar should be the spice capital, but the food was very bland. The desserts section, is not good. and breakfast is just ok. Rooms: We stayed in the Ocean view room, which was a great position. but the rooms are small. Also inside there are holes on the mosquito nets etc. the bedding is not modern. The look inside needs to be revived. Staying at the ocean view allowed us access to dine in the special restaurant. So, it was a major plus, as the restaurant is lovely, and has a view of the beach. Other: 1. As a South African who has limited direct flight options to Zanzibar. We used Africastay, that uses SAFAIR. the flights are at ungodly hours, and travelling with kids was difficult. Unfortunately the hotel charges you for late checkout, even though you when you arrive you lose out for a paid night, as you arrive at midnight. This really should change. 2. The two nights entertainment was lovely. Very cool. 3. The Safari Blue snorkelling and sandbank is an absolute must! it was so lovely. The spice tour was good and educational. 4. Weather is very hot, minimun 27 degrees in summer. and can go up to 34. I enjoy this, so was pleasant. 5. Staff are very friendly and so eager to please. In brief we had a wonderful time, and have no regrets. If the food and decor was upped just even a fraction, then the vacation would have been a 5/5. Otherwise, hope you found this helpful.

Very friendly staff, delicious food and a really nice outdoor area. Loved that the beach was so close to the hotel, and that security staff watched the sunbed area, so we did not have any sellers around us. I would highly recommend this to others, and would really like to come back here later!
