I have just come back from Zanzibar. I chose My Blue twice and I definitely do not regret it. The hotel and its staff is definitely worth recommendation. I loved there absolutely everything - room, location, manager, receptionists, my thanks and greetings to Luana and Arafa. The hotel garden is beautifully kept, meals served in the cosy restaurant by the ocean, helpful waiters and waitresses among them Lea and Pili Aloyce with a beautiful smile who looked after us perfectly. Also location of the hotel is great with a clean, sandy beach in front of it which you still might admire after coming back home using on-line camera. Thank you My Blue People once again :)

We stayed at MyBlue hotel for approximately 10 nights during a diving trip in Zanzibar. The hotel is nice, welcoming and offers different services with a very nice and warm staff in all areas and department (reception, restaurant, bar, etc) The rooms we were given (Standard Rooms) are simple but sufficient for when you go diving all day long. Easy and quick access to all facilities such as the pool, the bar or the beach. I (as a 4 star hotel worker) personally had some small problems with the room and the area that i talked about with the Front Office Manager such as : - the bar next to my room putting very loud music until very late in the night (sometimes until midnight), and sometime groups of people chatting loudly and being so drunk that they fell of in the pool shouting while putting loud music (i called the reception 2 times in one single night), - the lack of sound isolation of the room (you can hear any discussion held around the pool), - when I asked to clean my room after 3 days, the housekeeping just tidied the bed without changing the sheets, they were removing every opened shower gel/shampoo though not emptied, the light in the bathroom was not working upon arrival (they fixed it) and it then stopped working after 5 days of use. As i talked about these with the Manager of the Reception, she said I should have told her earlier than a dat before check out. I was not that annoyed by these small problems but it needs to be pointed out. I do recommend this hotel for the place where it is settled (out of the very crowded beach with parties every night) and all the facilities it provides with a so nice staff, but also recommend people to either not take standard rooms or ask not to be in the following ones 110-111-112 as they are just next to the bar and the noise it generates. Anyway, the day I come back to Nungwi, I know where i’ll probably stay. I hope my comment as a Front Office Receptionist will help to make better experience for all the guests.

Communication between guests and staff is very difficult. They have a very limited english vocabulary. Requesting anything out of the ordinary is not understood, however the staff is very friendly. Food is average and under seasoned. For an island with lots of spice, the bland food was a disappointment.
