Ants was recommended to us by a couple of friends who had already visited, primarily because they specialise in horse riding safaris. We went as a family of four, two adults and two children. Two of us could ride and two couldn't - by the end of our three days, we were a family of four riders! Fabulous confidence building... More

Family of three stayed at Ant's Hill for a lovely relaxed break after full-on game drives in Madikwe. Even for complete novices as us the horse safari's are fine, with mostly (!) well-behaved horses. Two activity slots a day, which you are asked about over meal-times. Very flexible if you want to change your mind at any time ! If... More

Considering only 1 of our children had ridden horses before, we were so surprised that we loved every minute of our stay. Their horses and guides were amazing. Within the first 20 mins of the first ride, we were all cantering along the tracks and loving it. We did 4 rides in total and it was truely magnificent. Amazing to... More

We had a lovely time at Ant Nests. Riding with all the wildlife was magical and sometimes you have to pinch yourself as you stop to look at rhinos, zebras and other animals. Three of us were beginners and did not feel out of our depth but the staff cater for all levels and speeds. The food was marvellous and... More

A very nice place. The outstanding thing for me was the general quality of the staff. Genuinely friendly, well informed and helpful and delightful to talk to. The horses seem to be the big thing, although none of us ride. My novice wife and 4 year old went out every morning on horseback, and I chose to walk with them... More

A unique experience whereby you become part of Ant's 'family' and stay in his home deep in the bush. The dogs and cats wandering about, the fact that Ant dines with you and takes the time to get to know you all personally, the wonderfully informal but very personal noting of what your specific requests are for the following day... This was my fourteenth time sampling Ant's hospitality. There is a real person named Ant (Anthony) and his wife Tess who own the reserve. Normally I go to Ant's Hill, but this time I decided not to be a "Hillbilly" and to visit the Nest. I found that the Nest was just as hospitable as the Hill. The rooms are... More

My 8 yr. old daughter and I spent 6 days at Ant's Hill in late May this year (2016). We had a wonderful time and I would recommend it to others without hesitation. The staff were all friendly, helpful and approachable. The accommodation was breathtaking and spotlessly clean. The food was plentiful, varied and of a high standard. We had... More

A unique experience to "get close" to the Bush through wonderful walks, horse rides, and game drives. The incredibly friendly people of Ants Collection, wonderful food, stunning accommodation and a not too regimental routine made for the most amazing, relaxing stay. Also highly educational for children and adults alike.

We visited here in June for the first 3 days of our honeymoon and had such a lovely time. The staff were all lovely and very attentive. The food was good, our room was very private and extremely comfortable and I had two heavenly massages. We saw amazing wildlife and thought the guides were very knowledgable and friendly. We joined... More
