Lindani is situated on a beautiful 3000 ha private game farm in the Waterberg, 280 kms from Johannesburg. With varied topography - mountains, valleys, perennial streams and rivers, wetlands, kloofs, towering sandstone cliffs, mountain bushveld, open plains, magnificent trees and rock formations. We offer a choice of eight lovingly furnished, secluded lodges. Our rates range from R235 pppn in the low season to R540 for our luxurious cottages in peak season.
The house we rented (Thabeng) was truly beautiful and very well equipped. The staff we met was very friendly and helpful. The whole place has a lot of wildlife and great landscape. Unfortunately we had two issues, that reduced our enthusiasm a bit. 1. The team that cleaned the pool before our arrival forgot to switch the battery of and we ended with no electricity at 9 in the evening. We phoned and somebody came to diagnose the problem. No light was not a problem, but to be without a working fridge was not so nice. The next day, the maintaining crew came and installed a portable generator to fill up the battery, as it was overcast and solar power was not enough. The noise was very embarrassing. We went out and called to switch it of when we came back and the battery was full. 2. In the information map was written that the gates are open from 7 in the morning. When we arrived at the gate at 7:10 it was still closed and we had a long journey and and appointment at noon. Nobody answered the phone. We had to drive back to the house and get the gate key, as we found out, that there is a key box at the gate. It took us 45 minutes to get to the house and back. Please change the information in the information map!…

Lindani is such a treat , a little safe haven. The cottage is fully furnished with almost EVERYTHING you might need for the weekend. Exclusive usage of the dam made the stay extra special. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Need to reboot? Want an easy access 170km drive from Joburg, on tar to the farm driveway? Looking for privacy, tranquillity and space? Alden Cottage has it all...then some! A charming, well equiped, off-grid cottage in a large fenced garden with a further fenced pool overlooking a dam and koppie make for idyllic bushveld days. We lived on the massive patio shaded under the trees watching the blue headed geckos and myriad of birds. The warthogs strutted past and buck watched us - and keep an eye open for the biggest Buffalo you'll ever see! Our first night a thunderstorm and cool air made us debate snuggling in front of a fire but the super comfy beds won out. Enjoy walks, cycling, game and bird-watching or just wallow for hours-we did! Moonlight swimming looking up at the widest starlit sky is soul food. And talking food-if you don't want too much kitchen duty order ahead from Lindani's farm pantry. Think farm fare with a gourmet twist.. delivered to the cottage. We enjoyed crunchies, an amazing lemon tart, venison pies and foccacia breads. Coffee became an excuse to raid the box of crunchies! This is a magical find and thanks to our hosts Alan and Denise and the super staff at Lindani, you were all wonderful. Whatever the occasion Alden Cottage sets the backdrop for a blissful bush breakaway. …

The premises have a few issues like the pool not being clean, bad road to chalet etc which they have promised to resolve. The grass and braai patch didn't look great...our hike was very good though..friendly staff.

Thank you for your review and we apologise about your experience with the pool and sparse grass patches. With back to back bookings we struggled to get a gap for repairs before the summer season but can assure you that the maintenace team has been booked to start repairs, after which they will focus on the lawn. We are glad you enjoyed the hike. Once again we do apologise for the inconvenience and to hope you'll come visit us again soon.

We stayed in the camping site whilst attending a training camp with SterkSpan. Upon arriving we were welcomed by Johannes (one of the many friendly staff members of Lindani) with a bag of ice and complimentary wood for the fire on the house! We thoroughly enjoy our stay at Lindani, the lodge offers so much that we couldn't explore all of the 3000+ hectare game farm. We will definitely be back to explore and also to tackle the single-track MTB route. Five star stay, fantastic location and value for money!

The Staff were very friendly and accommodation neat. Hike with Johannesburg was awesome. However, we would have loved to take a dip in the pool, water was brown rven after cleaning and grass patch sparse.Outdoor area in general quite depressing.

Our first visit to Lindani was a unique experience. From the instant we arrived and encountered Alan and Denise, we could sense that there was something special about this location. Alden Cottage provided us with comfort and privacy, the cottage had everything we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed the short stroll to the private dam. The hiking trails at Lindani are well-defined, there some great ones to do with the kids and I'm certainly planning to bring my bicycle next time, as the mountain biking trails seem amazing!

this was our first time staying at Maroela Camp, we choose it as it is a little cheaper than the Bushcamp, we enjoyed our stay, but we do feel that it is too small to be advertised as being suitable for four adults, better for two adults and two small children. the inside shower did not give a constant flow of water, and the shower head needs replacing. the outside shower was great. The upstairs room is very dark. The pool is lovely, and the waterhole brings lots of game. We will be back!

Lindani has been operating successfully for many years and has everything figured out to give visitors a wonderful experience. The staff are friendly and helpful, cottages/lodges are spaced far apart, clean and comfortable with everything you could need (even first aid kits), and equipped with solar panels and gas. There are wonderful biking, running and hiking trails amongst the varied terrain and wildlife, and excellent food is available, either delivered to your cottage, as a picnic, or a fine dining experience at the most lovely spot on the river. Great value, and only a few hours from Johannesburg or Pretoria on good roads. Highly recommended.
