The service was brilliant! I was sick during my stay and they made such an effort to look after me and arranged for my food to be brought to my room, nothing was too much effort. The view from the room was so lovely, room was clean and food was great. The only con really is that they don't have any of the big game at the lodge.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were waited on hand and foot, our every need was anticipated and met with absolute warmth! My wife is 8 months pregnant and we booked our stay as a last little break before the arrival of our baby. The staff were attentive to the last detail. Our hosts Nicola and Stiaan (also our game ranger and guide) were exceptional and took our experience to a whole other level. Our daily meals were hosted by either Nicola or Stiaan and were prepared by Elizabeth, our chef. Each menu was different, but each one equally as delicious! We could taste and see the passion that went onto every plate. Stiaan took us out for a daily afternoon game drive (we opted to skip the morning drives) and went out of his way to show us EVERYTHING the reserve had to offer. And we saw pretty much everything. About halfway through the two-hour excursion we would stop for sundowners and share some interesting, light-hearted conversation before heading back to the lodge. If I had to mention everything that made Bushwa such a lovely experience this could easily turn into an essay, rather than a review. We will definitely be going back and visiting again!

Bushwa is a beautiful, secluded hideaway for couples looking for an extraordinary bush retreat. The team at Bushwa is very accommodating in making your stay as special and memorable as possible. The bush spa is a great treat. We were staying in the tree house overlooking a waterhole. The tree house also has a deck where you can spend your lazy afternoons listening to the sounds of the bush and enjoying a drink while being mesmerised by the beautiful sunset. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are an absolute treat. Two safari trips per day are a available where you can see the beautiful buffalo roaming the farm. They also have Roan and Sable. Bushwa will definitely see us again! Great hospitality, great service! Thank you Bushwa. Lourens and Natasha

We visited Bushwa to celebrate a milestone birthday and wedding anniversary. From the moment we stepped out of the car, we experienced hospitality and service like no other. Our hostess and game ranger went out of their way to make us feel as if we were the only guests to ever stay at Bushwa! Being a small lodge, there were very few guests so we never felt crowded and actually enjoyed the shared conversations on the game drives and around the fire at night. We stayed in the tented chalet which added a special touch to the luxury of the whole lodge. The peace and quiet at Bushwa was special. We never felt rushed, or busy - just waited on hand and foot, with a few good laughs thrown in by Stiaan, the entertaining game ranger! I would highly recommend a break at Bushwa if you are looking for tranquility, excellent service, fresh air and personal attention. Thank you Marius, Nicola, Elizabeth and Stiaan (and Johan who was mostly behind the scenes).
