Loved this hotel. Beautiful setting and great iconic pub. Service was laid back but helpful. Rooms were lovely and facilities good. Food was delicious and the waitress was friendly and efficient. Only one complaint and that was because it was quiet they shut down the pub by 9pm because we were the only ones left. Couldn't get a coffee to...

Lovely courtyard room and gardens, open fires, lounge area. Adjacent to lovely bar and restaurant area. Room great, shower pressure and temperature control could be improved but didn't cause a problem. Nice toiletries and breakfast included

This vintage hotel offers good and spacious rooms plus quality bathroom. The bed was good and it was very clean. Very nice garden in the back, with entrance from the restaurant but also some of the rooms. We got room 10 and could hardly sleep because of a noise in the wall. Staff told us it is from the pipes...

Very nice sized room, warm and comfortable, good bathroom. Hotel atmosphere is historic and charming and gardens were beautiful. Checking in was a bit tricky at about 6 or 6.30 pm due to the amount of patrons in the bar, but it was Saturday night so it was unavoidable.

This rustic pub has lot's of charm and lovely gardens. We called in for lunch and had soup of the day which was delicious. We enjoyed it so much we came back several days later for dinner. We had seafood chowder which was fantastic. A huge bowl and full of seafood.

We stopped here as a morning coffee stop. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We ordered a flat white and a chai. We had it in the back courtyard. They had a fire going in the outside fireplace. It really was a serene setting.

We have been very impressed with the food in the pub previously and so decided to stay at the hotel for 2 nights on our return to NZ. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean but the breakfast disappointing - there is toast and some cereal on offer (if staff keep it topped up and if you can find a...

Staff was really helpful and friendly, room was clean and cozy. We booked the room + breakfast deal and we really enjoyed it. We also had dinner there one night and food was fantastic...

This is a truly iconic kiwi treasure. Rooms were clean and tidy, staff were friendly, food was good. The beer garden with outdoor fireplace is so relaxing. Anytime of year, this would be a great place to stay. I plan to get back there one day.
