Boutique “Hotel De Eilenden” is located on the Noorderhaven in Harlingen, which boasts the only seaport in Friesland. The hotel is situated within walking distance from the Doeksen Ferry Terminal where the ferry boats depart to, and arrive from the Wadden islands of Vlieland and Terschelling. The Hotel, which was formerly a “Ferry House,” offers luxurious and comfortable rooms for those on their way to the Wadden Islands, or for anyone who wishes an overnight stay in Harlingen. Overlooking the “North Harbour” (Noorderhaven), “Hotel De Eilanden” is a stone's throw away from the historical city centre. In 2015 it was completely rebuilt and now consists of seven rooms, three of which are on the ground floor and the remaining four are accessible by lift. “Hotel De Eilanden” does not have its own reception, however all questions and inquiries can be accommodated by the “Hotel/Restaurant Zeezicht” which is located 75 metres away. Here you can also enjoy a fantastic breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just have a quiet drink on a lovely seaside terrace while watching the boats sail in and out of the harbour with the sunset as a backdrop. Situated in the heart of Harlingen, you can experience everything that Friesland has to offer. From the Wadden Sea on one side, to the rural Friesian hinterland on the other with its world famous Friesian horses, cozy farms, inner recreational water playgrounds, and rainbows of tulips blanketing the expansive farmlands. Rooms: The hotel rooms are spacious and equipped with all the amenities including: Nespresso machine which is replenished daily, electric kettle, mini fridge, luggage rack, television, and safe. Two rooms have an enclosed patio. On the first floor the back room has a lovely private roof top terrace. One room has a bath. Facilities: Lift, hallway soda machine, toilet, shower, hairdryer, wireless and wired internet access, television, coffee and tea making facilities. Practical Information: The hotel has no reception. Check-in is done via the key safe, or at the reception of the “Hotel Zeezicht”. Pets are allowed with a maximum of two pets per room. An extra cleaning charge of 15 euro per pet, will be charged. The hotel is wheel chair accessible. There are three rooms on the ground floor and the lift accommodates the remaining rooms on the first and second floors. All rooms are Smoke and Allergy Free. Parking: The hotel has No Private Parking. Public Parking must be paid for in the spaces available in front of and beside the hotel. If desired, you can book daily parking tickets with your reservation at a cost of 5 euro per day. Our Valet Parking Service is available for those travelling to the Islands of Vlieland and Terschelling and can be arranged through the reception of “Hotel Zeezicht”. Your car will be parked for you at a cost of seven euro per day.

Small hotel with only 7 rooms, I think, and lacking it’s own reception. To check in or out, and to have breakfast, you cross the street to Hotel Zeezicht where the reception desk is at the bar. The check-in process was a lengthy process and...More

We were in transit, and this place was ideal. It’s within easy walking distance to the ferry terminal and the railway station. You have to check in at a nearby hotel, but this wasn’t a problem, and we later dined at the restaurant here, and...More

The room was large and the shower very modern. The bed was excellent. There was even a smal private outside space. The location is very central. There is public parking available near the hotel (paid parking between 0900-1700hrs).

It is actually the dependence of Hotel Zeezicht. You check in, check out and have breakfast at Hotel Zeezicht. The rooms at Hotel De Eilanden are large and modern cosy. The location on the canal is wonderful.
