A great way to experience excellent wine and food in an amazingly relaxed setting. A set course dinner with wine pairing at a winery that is also a camp site. Interesting dishes and wines from the local vines, all served with friendly knowledge.
We stayed in a mobilne 2bedroom house near The pool and had a great time. The mobilne house was clean and well equipped. The dinner with wine tasting was delicious, we especially liked Saksida wine Zelen.
So we decided our next camping should be small and in a wine region. Saksida we found, made a phone call and arrived a few hours later. This is a campsite we fell in love with, sort of. Small, just the right amount of facilities, easy come, easy go, good places to put up your tent and a fridge to keep your stuff cool. They even have a nice pool, which we didn't use because the sun left no shade to hide in, the owners need to make a little investment here. We planned to spend 2 or 3 days but they extended to 8. Lots to see if you don't mind driving around a bit. On one of the last days we finally reported to the on site restaurant. Man, we were the biggest fools in the universe at the time! We should have come every evening it was open but we had no idea. This turned out to become the most impressive dinner experience ever! Did I tell Saksida is a wine estate? No I didn't but it is. The dinner courses were accompanied by the wines they produce on the premises and they made for perfect companions. All courses were a surprise in looks, combinations and taste. Picture some 15 guests sitting under a roof of grapes, alternately silent in reverence of their unique experience, then enthusiastic talking and laughing. This really was something! We thank Marko and Ingrid for the happiness of this evening. Strange thing happened later: every meal since summoned this evening into our heads, this did not happen before. Next time will be different because we will come prepared but hey, many things have a downside. Question is how to accept it gracefully. …
Thsi is a small and cosy camping, but it is especially the gastronomic restaurant that is amazing. Expensive to Slovenian standards, but the same quality in other countries costs way more. We had dinner here three times during our 14 day holiday, and were always thrilled by the splendid and original presentation, the quality and taste of the dishes, and the homemade wines. This was everything I could hope for.
Nice surprise to find a small camp site, ideal for camping cars slap bang in the middle of a vineyard. Good clean facilities, friendly staff. Lovely small swimming pool to relax in. Superbe high class restaurant on site with haute cuisine wine tasting menu. (no chicken nuggets and chips here).
This was a good alternative for us being a large group spending five nights in the area of Nova Gorica. Staying in a hotel would have resulted in many rooms but here we all were able to fit in two bungalows. However it should be clearly stated that this isn’t a hotel which means that there isn’t any daily cleaning and other services but you can get your towels exchanged upon request. The property is situated on the country side which makes it a perfect place if you want peace and quiet. The location is beautiful in the middle of the vineyard. The bungalows were fresh and clean except for under the bed but we didn’t discover that until we checked the room before leaving so I guess it was OK :). The bungalows are equipped with toilet, shower, cooking facilities and refrigerator. We didn’t use the cooking facilities but we did use the common barbecue place one night and it was perfect to have and we were able to cook food to 15 persons without any problems. There’s a supermarket in the next village (Dornberk) which is a few minutes by car or 10-15 minutes walking. They have a small pool which is nice on a hot and sunny day but the opening hours of the pool are a bit limited. As we were away almost the full days we were only able to spend time at the pool on two of the afternoons. The owners of the property were nice and friendly and everything went smoothly concerning booking, check-in and check-out. All in all we were very satisfied and can recommend this place if it’s OK for you not to stay in a hotel.…
Awesome food. We came to participate in Vipa ultra marathon race. Mobile home room was modern and comfortable, though not overly generous in room size. Porch was LOVELY if weather is nice. And food at the house was AWESOME. Honestly, it was a full on foodie dinner, really fantastic, from beginning to end. Highly recommended.
Can only agree with all the previous reviews, it is the best camping/stellplats we have ever been on and we have been on hundreds! Everything, the pool, the toilets and showers were immaculate. The owners could not be more friendly and helpful and the taster meal and their wines were just amazing and very reasonably priced. There is only one problem, it's a long, long way from Sweden, otherwise I would come here every other week at least!
Our family stayed here in our campervan. Nice pool, lovely surrounds, lovely hosts and AWESOME and very reasonably priced gourmet set meal with matching wines (with a variation for kids) (restaurant doesn't open til 8pm though). Loved it. Highly recommended.
This rural campsite was perfect! Small and situated amidst vineyards with views over distant hills. The facility was clean with all the necessary amenities, including wifi. The hostess could not have been more gracious and helpful. We were fortunate to be there on a night they could accommodate us in their restaurant. I can't begin to say enough about the meal which was beautifully and uniquely presented. The food was outstanding as was the accompanying flight of wines. It will definitely be the culinary highlight of my travels.
