This is the worst hotel ever. The rooms are nothing like the pictures, they are really old and the service is really poor. The food is nothing special everyday is the same menu. The animators have a poor program for the kids, have nothing interesting to entertain them with. They also have a privet beach where you can’t find a place to lay your towels, because there isn’t enough umbrellas for the hotel guests.
Hotel Santa Stefano in Sardinia Not all inclusive as all inclusive. The Italians probably have their different rules than other hotels in other countries. Travel agents sell the St. Stefano Hotel as all inclusive, but the reality is different and scary. You don't see a four-star hotel like this very often. The eye-catching video for clients is a luxurious and a little far from the truth. What is Italian all inclusive? You pay for everything during the day. It only includes coffee at breakfast, wine at lunch and dinner and soft drinks like water and then diluted water cola, fanta, sprite, etc... the outdoor bar, you pay all day, coffee, wine, beer and of course Aperol Spritz. There were two free alcoholic local beverages, suitable for a mixed drink. Taste is for everyone to judge for themselves. Towels for the beach for charge. DINING ROOM: Uncleared tables - they didn't manage to clear the tables after the meal, people had nowhere to sit, even 10-15 minutes standing with food in their hands waiting for the staff to clear the tables. This was especially the case at breakfast, but often also at lunch or dinner. The dining room consisted of several rooms. Some of the rooms were taped off NO ENTRY, only for VIPs, but no one sat there. Maybe they didn't feel like clearing so many tables, so people had to wait for the tribute for a free, clear table. The floor hadn't been mopped all week and you couldn't see through the portaloo window to the sea how dirty and grubby it was. At breakfast we found fries from dinner on the floor. Often unreplenished hand sanitizer in the dining room, but alas, alas not to have a drape on, albeit on for a second that you don't realize. The dining room was total chaos because the service was non-existent. You go for everything yourself, water, wine, coffee, unreplenished cutlery .... OUTDOOR BAR: Unhelpful and inexperienced staff. They see you standing at the bar, but they have their time to serve you, so there is nothing left but to ask for attention. Again, seating and tables are not cleaned. The seating is either sandbagged, dust or the cloth seats are wet with swimwear (it would probably need a different solution, the fabric isn't very happy choice). Afternoon coffee siesta? Unfortunately, you have nowhere to put your coffee again. Not even one table, at any one time, was not cleaned. We let our appetites go and only had water, which at least was complimentary. BEACH: Towels only for a fee, not included in the Italian all inclusive. You can't lie on the beach where you want. The first two rows by the sea again for VIPs, but again no one was lying there, so we don't know who the rare guests are VIPS. Certainly not the Czechs. ACCOMMODATIONS: The staff and the Italian clientele had classy accommodations. Some greenery around the rooms, large windows, sea view. Czech clientele? We had the feeling that we were staying ...., it is impossible to comment politely. The advertised garden view does not exist. You're looking at a total desert. The grass is dry, the plants are half dead, the facade and the door scratched, the window without a hinge, but it had a pelmet, the seat on the chair without no cover, just bare, dirty foam, very little cleaning. You're always walking on sand, cupboards, doors. greasy, dirty. CK ČEDOK: Should not present this stay as all inclusive, it is a scam, it is a classic full board with wine with free lunch and dinner. Departures home should be arranged earlier by the CK, because Italians have everything time, they are not in a hurry and we were running to GATE with our tongues hanging out and no chance to calm down before to eat or have a coffee. The hotel lacked organization of work, of the collective .... POSITIVES: great cuisine, nice surroundings and sea, possibility of hiking and running, beaches clean.…
Do not believe that is is the heaven on this Island. The rooms are like in the prison, not the 4star hotel. Mold on the façade, a broken bitten door from the vermin, the room was musty and dirty, cleaning especially in Covid's times insufficient, dirt under the beds and zero disinfection. Beds and furniture old, laid out, unstable. We shielded ourselves. The Island is beautiful, the food in the restaurant was really good, but the accomodation is the bad dream.
Beautiful place, very friendly reception. The food was very good, despite corona it was very well organized. There are many possibilities for day trips by boat to the nearby islands. Best of all are the professional and friendly staff, we took kayaking and sailing courses. Also we enjoyed the evening program with dance and music shows.
We had been here in 2016 and We had a lovely memory of the place, service and food. We booked without hesitation. Upon arrival we sadly had to change our minds. The place remains as charming as it was then but the new management is in obvious difficulty turning that feeling of privilege into captivity. The food is poor and being the resort on an island where there is nothing else it is impossible to even think about eating elsewhere. Luckily for us we stayed for a short 5 day break but I doubt it is possible to stay longer. Although we relaxed in the sun leaving the island we all had a feeling of liberation having a great breakfast in the port of Palau. This should never happen.
