It was a pleasure to stay in Ma&Ma Hotel. I'm very grateful to the hotel personnel for their help. They offered B-cake to my husband and were very friendly all the time. Spa in the hotel is very clean, the atmosphere there is comforting and relaxing. The hotel is very close to the city center and port. It is just 5-6 minutes by car. If I return to La Maddalena, I will definitely stay again in this hotel and will recommend it to my friends.
Room - Excellent! Beautiful view, very comfortable bed and great shower Breakfast - This was so good! The options and quality were outstanding. They served the best coffee out of everywhere we stayed this trip! The serving staff was also excellent and lovely! Pool - Beautiful view of the sea and relaxing ambience. Cleaning Staff - Outstanding! They really did an excellent job and even tidied up our room for us, which was above and beyond. The turn down service was also a nice touch. Spa and Fitness Center - Staff was lovely and I had everything I needed in the fitness center. The spa was relaxing and quite nice. Front Desk Staff - This was the disappointing aspect. Half of the staff was kind and helpful, the other half (especially the manager) were not providing "5 star" service. We had an issue with a dinner reservation which was to be made by the front desk. They were unable to make it and simply tried to call our room to inform us but of course we were not there. We were expected to ask about it at the front desk. They could have easily left a note or found us at the pool, but they did not try. I understand this is small, but for the price of the room and the claim of 5 stars, this was disappointing. We have had better service at 3 star hotels. We also didn't appreciate being treated as if it was our fault. The shuttle also ran infrequently and we were not near the town, but that could have been because we were there at the end of the season. Another thing to note: The welcome drink was a nonalcoholic, premixed juice. We asked if we could do something else and were told they would figure something out, but never followed through.…
Amazing experience, late September - not busy which made it even more relaxing. Room & bathroom spotless, beautiful views, very close to beach. Wish we booked for longer. Every member of staff we met or spoke to was very friendly & professional. Cannot recommend enough. Ma&Ma - if your reading this, thank you very much 😘
Overall sub-par experience at the hotel after a number of excellent experiences elsewhere in Sardinia. There were a number of issues with the room including a fridge that barely kept items below room temperature. The use of pool cards with threats of fines for non-return doesn’t feel reflective of a 5-star hotel or culture. The attitude of hotel staff I found surly and often dismissive which having read some of the responses to negative reviews on the site may well be a tone fostered by the general manager. On a personal note I was not a fan of the overall decor of the hotel or it’s location which is quite far from the town but I concede that those are personal preferences. On the plus side the rooms were clean and the overall cleaning service was satisfactory. The use of list for guests to fill in items at breakfast was also an efficient measure.…
No coffee machine (or even kettle with coffee powder) in the room. This is the first time I experience this in a five star hotel, but this was not an issue until I went to the buffet breakfast room to get a cup of coffee and bring it back to my room: they charged me 12 EUR for room service at check out! I refused to pay explaining the situation yet they insisted that I should. Reception finally accepted not to charge me after several back and fourths with the restaurant (because I did not eat breakfast and counted that coffee instead). Shocking and even more shocking that they did not let it go immediately. Very cheap attitude for a >300€/ night hotel (they charge 3€ for a pool towel change during the day, etc).
The Grand Hotel and Resort Ma&Ma was spotlessly clean, the rooms well equipped and the pool is a jewel. We stayed from 20th to 23rd June as some of the first post-lockdown guests and the staff were happy to explain how things worked. The breakfast buffet system required guests to fill in a form on entering telling the staff what they wanted, which was then brought to the table. This worked well and the serving staff were happy to oblige, even with the extra work. Dinner was varied and good quality although occasionally the quantity was a little lacking. We had stayed here the previous year and because of Covid 19 the facilities in the Spa were reduced but enjoyable all the same. To sum up, very clean, very cheerful polite staff, an excellent pool and garden and good food. Go and see for yourselves - you won't be disappointed.…
From 19 to 22/10, we were seduced by this 5 stars hotel for our 20 years of marriage. Everything was professional, all the team was dedicated to offer the best to their clients: breakfast, transfer to airport, bar, pool, entry desk. Just try it and you will be very satisfied. Will come back next year with our girls.
A small luxury hotel that was very unassuming. The hotel had big balconies and I had a view of the water. Very nice sized room and good bathroom with amenities. Great A/C that I could control.. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. Dinner around the pool was a special experience. Was just too busy to use the spa or the other services.
We stayed here for a week and it’s a nice hotel, modern and clean. A little dated with the black, red and white theme in the entrance area. Rooms are large and comfortable and house keeping were very good with cleaning, replacing towels and turn down service with chocolate. Breakfast again is very good with a large selection and a good choice for gluten and dairy free alternatives. For me there were a few things that were a bit off that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. The mirror in the bathroom was wonky and had been put in with the filling still showing. The bed board at the end was loose, do a few things that made it lack the 5 star appeal but a pleas stay and very good shuttle service that we a very reliable.
Young couple staying for a few nights whilst on holiday. The hotel is fantastic and the service was impeccable. As an English couple, we were really impressed by the multilingual staff (sadly our Italian is limited!). Fantastic breakfast and the rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Only improvements we would suggest would be: 1. As a 5* Luxury we found it a little irritating to have young children being very noisy by the poolside. We had thought it was adult only. 2. Poolside drinks were a little too expensive which resulted in us leaving the hotel to drink elsewhere. 3. Only one complimentary bottle of water provided for the whole stay. As the tap water is not pleasant, we would have appreciated a bottle each per day. 4. Be warned- no hot drinks facilities in the room nor iron available. Overall, a great stay and we would definitely return.…
