I loved this place! Really! I love everything about it. Yes, it was magical. The room was very nice and large. The restaurant served first rate food and the staff was the best and most attentive I have ever seen or experienced. It didn't matter to whom we spoke, the person checking us in, the wait staff in the restaurant,... More

We were at the castle for a wedding...and it was magical. The castle, grounds, rooms, restaurant, bar are beautiful. My room was off the gardens, which were incredible. The only downside is no a/c...everything else was great. The food, service, staff, etc. were fantastic. They are extremely accommodating. The wedding was gorgeous, the dinner amazing. The only downside is that... More

Castle Durrow upholds the highest standards of hospitality on several levels. As a family we have enjoyed a 'big' birthday celebration in a private room (on the same day as a wedding - service was not undermined), we have enjoyed Friday evening Fish and Chip suppers with our boys and I have enjoyed afternoon tea with my Mum! I have... More

I got married here in May of 2016 and honestly could not have had a better wedding. I was having a destination wedding and so I wanted a venue that had great food, would be easy to plan with, and could sleep all of my guests coming from all over the USA and Europe. I also did NOT want a... More

Castle Durrow is an an ideal place for a short break that is within easy reach of Dublin. It is peaceful and beautiful and the food is excellent. A tour of the gardens is worthwhile for inspiration and to see what can be achieved in a period of less than 20 years. Definitely recommended.

Went to a close friends wedding. Food was incredible: canopis, tortellini, soup salads and lovely craft beer: O' haras IPA and brewdog Punk IPA. Accomodating to veggies and beautiful rooms and grounds. Would love to go back!

From the moment we arrived on a Monday afternoon, until our departure on Thursday morning, our stay at Castle Durrow was memorable. The reception staff were exceedingly friendly and exceptionally helpful. We were shown to a magnificent room with a beautiful four poster bed and marvellous views over the Castle Demense. There was fresh fruit to welcome us and tea... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Castle Durrow is located in the heart of the village. A fully restored, magnificent 300 year old Mansion with luxurious bedrooms each with their own atmosphere. Our restaurant is located in stunning south-facing rooms, decorated with mirrors and hand blocked wallpaper, our head chef creates delicious seasonal menus, popular with visitors and locals alike. We are a terrific place to relax and let romance and Guinness de-stress the mind and body in our cosy bar and reception rooms. In the Magnificent garden, with fabulous scented borders and a walled garden, from where our chefs pick their daily produce, you can stroll around for hours or have a more vigorous walk by the river and in the hills adjoining the castle. A stay at the castle with Dinner and some romance would not be complete without a beauty treatment in our salon , aptly named the Powder box ! ... more   less
