These cabins are all you need - clean, comfortable, affordable. Relaxing porch with view of ocean. We used kitchen facilities for breakfast and microwaved dinner. We loved Nonhamar - why don't we have these cute cabins in the U.S.? They are really perfect.
My wife and I stayed two nights. Pros: * clean * nice view * good beds * adequate space for two guests * good information from hosts So-so: * very far from stores - plan ahead! Vik or Höfn. Cons: * lacked any ventilation except opening windows * frying on the stove not advisable for this reason * moisture damage on windows having been left open * very cramped for four guests * questionable value for money if you are only two guests *
My husband and I had a great stay st Nonhamar guesthouse. It was a lovely collage with a small kitchen complete with a two burner stove, fridge and sink all in one. They provide dishes and utensils for 4 and pots and pans to cook with. With 2 bunk beds, it can easily accommodate 4 though we were glad there were just 2 of us. A small pullout table completed the main room and a small but serviceable bathroom completed the cabin. Unlike most places in Iceland, they do not include breakfast but we were prepared for that. We loved staying there and the only reason I did not rate this excellent is because I got the impression from the website that it was in the National Park when it was in a village. The upside of that is that the Hof1 restaurant is a short walk away. It does get crowded, so make a reservation or better yet, bring supplies and make your own dinner.…
We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2018. We loved the cabin which had a decent amount of space. It was great to have a table to use our laptops on. It is a great location between Skaftafell National Park (around 20 minutes) and Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon (35 minutes). Staying at the cabin was peaceful. The host is very nice and helped us with a favor for which we were very appreciative. I highly recommend this cabin, one of our favorite places we stayed on our 9 day trip to Iceland.
This would be a hidden treasure. It is situated on a hill side, with views over fields going to the ocean. We were in our cottage with 3 persons (it has 2 bunkbeds for 4 people), my parents in the other. Good beds and lights, good heating, good shower, next to a small water stream. Rather close (by car) to Skaftafell national park. Only negative point for us was the (very small) size of the kitchen.
