Travelers' Choice
Choosing U Capu Biancu is above all an original choice of vacation location, because nothing here is like anywhere else! The unique setting, with the disconcerting beauty of omnipresent nature… The rooms, each one of a kind and born of our travels, filled with friendly dreams… The dining table, orchestrated by a chef from far away… The intimate spa, 100% nature… The beach, all your own, of course the heated infinity pool, its Jacuzzi bubblier than Champagne… The team, happy to be there, happy to serve you… The concept: life without artifice, natural luxury…

The hotel is lovely. The staff are very helpful in everything except recommendations in surrounding areas - this was a bit hit or miss. The view is beautiful. The adult meals are well prepared and tasty. Options for children are extremely limited, both in variety of food on offer and time available (e.g. same two choices all week, only available from 7.30pm. I would recommend for couples, but less so for families with (non-French) children.

We had been out on our boat in the morning and got recommended to try this place for lunch. We arrived, anchored up and a guy came out on a rib to run us to the jetty. The cove this place is in is stunning and the restaurant is really tastefully decorated. The staff were fun, attentive and were really welcoming. We sampled a lot of their cocktails which were delicious and the food was incredible. It’s not the cheapest place but was well worth it. The only thing I would offer as an improvement is to have more vegetarian options. If you’re near there go, but probably book ahead.

We both loved this hotel. It is quite isolated and very peaceful, but it has all the perks you could ask for. We rented a boat and visited bonifacio and the surrounding islands, which is highly recommended. Dogs are well accepted and everyone at the hotel was super! The food is sourced locally and almost everything is home made. The restaurant is great. The only suggestion I have is to improve the cappuccino. The rest is perfect.

Drift wood bungalows and terraces are the props of the extraordinarily theatrical cliff views of the property. Observe the panorama and the horizon of this unspoiled Corsican coastline as it changes throughout the day.

Wine tasting: a unique experience, Vanessa was very professional and knowledgeable. The food is also amazing, very tasty and the staff is very kind. The fish soup was my favorite, their main courses are just perfect and the location makes it a blissful moment. Next time, we will stay longer!

U Capu Biancu was great! We loved the Sea Suite with the in-room pool! The hotel staff was very welcoming on our arrival and all the facilities were great. There are three beaches to choose from and an even more beautiful beach that you can get to in a short Kayak or paddle board ride. Lunch at the restaurant by the beach was fantastic and the variety of options for dinner made each night feel like. a different experience. Overall highly recommend it.

We stayed in U Capu Biancu for two nights of our honeymoon, a week of which that was spent touring Corsica and staying at a variety of hotels at different price points. Our overwhelming feeling after immediately leaving U Capu Biancu and reflecting on our stay afterwards in comparison to other hotels is that, despite the beautiful setting, views, grounds and pool, it is a disappointing experience for the prices charged, both for the accommodation and in the restaurant. First, it is worth mentioning that the hotel is positioned in a beautiful spot, surrounded by equally beautiful gardens. There are lots of good activities on offer: we enjoyed the boulodrome, the fitness suite, the pool and football tables. I’m sure the boat ride too would also have been enjoyable. However, these one might expect given the cost of the room at €750 per night. The restaurant: The major detraction from the hotel is the restaurant. As commented by many other guests on the U Capu Biancu Restaurant’s TripAdvisor, the food is fine, but heavily overpriced and there are limited options each night. The pricing (including for the wine) is opaque and the quality of the food does not match the cost. Our first night was “Corsican Night” which had very limited options (2 per course). I had a charcuterie board as a starter, goat and polenta stew as a main and with the dessert, this came to €85. The cocktails were similarly average in quality for the €16/18 price tags. This is such a shame as the setting is wonderful and most of the staff were very helpful. With a bit of more variety and more reasonable pricing, this could be improved. We did raise the above complaints with the hotel while we were there and we were surprised by the rather patronising response, which was, to the effect, that we may not understand that prices were high and the quality of their ingredients was very good. They emphasised that this was to be expected throughout Corsica, a fact we discovered to be completely not the case. (For example, on our penultimate night, we stayed at Les Bergeries de Palombaggia (5 stars rather than 4 and €200 a night less per room) and the standards were significantly higher across the board. The restaurant prices there were similar, but the quality of the food was infinitely higher.) On our departure from U Capu Biancu, the senior manager did speak to us and she was extremely polite and professional, but the overall arguments were the same: “Corsican prices”. The room: The room was comfortable, but as also mentioned by a previous reviewer, the shower attachment (which is within the bath) is impractical and rather annoying, and the shampoo and conditioner dispensers attached to the wall cheapen the experience. Whilst the room was spacious and comfortable, it did not live up to the expectations of a €750 per night room. Overall, this hotel has the potential to be the most amazing experience, but sadly it just falls short. Our complaints do mirror others that have been made in the past, and it’s a shame that they have not been heeded.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I welcome your appreciation for the peace and tranquillity of our hotel and its beautiful location, however, we sincerely regret that you were not entirely satisfied with your stay. I regret that your experience at our bar and restaurant did not entirely meet your expectations in terms of pricing. I gave you details on the pricing which is related to the fact that we exclusively use local products mostly biological or cultivated by our care in permaculture. We cook exclusively local fish brought daily by our local fishermen, their pricing is high, but we believe that they deserve to earn a decent living to manage to continue their activity year after year, to bring us amazing products even though the touristic season is short. We also refuse to buy frozen food and prepare everything that has been served to you. As you rightly noticed, pricing was similar in other restaurants as in order to give quality ingredients, being an island, we must rely on local product with a very small production. What is rare is expensive. I hope our team of 100 employees who look after our guests staying in our 39 rooms looked well after you during your stay. We are glad that you found your room to be comfortable and spacious, nevertheless, we are sorry that the shower attachment was impractical for you and we have addressed this concern with our technical team, we wish we could have been informed during your stay in order to organise the repair while you were still with us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back on a future visit. Best wishes Mucchielli Marie-Josèphe Hotel director
