We arrived in Cerro Punta and stayed at the Lodge for 3 days.
It's significantly cooler than the rest of Panama. We visited in January and the temperature was about 15 degrees celcius. Dress appropriately.

Our last visit was 9 years ago! But much seemed the same, and that’s a good thing! We have stayed in the cabanas twice and lodge room once, enjoyed all. This time we stayed in cabana 2, thinking to get the same one we remembered,...More
I've been there several times and have enjoyed it each time. The Lodge is located on one of the best places on the planet, set in a cool mountainous atmosphere with lots of birds and flowers. Great staff and very good food in its restaurant....More
Had a great trip up the mountain behind the tractor and explored cabin 8. Abel was a wonderful tour guide and an excellent photographer for our group! Lunch afterwards in the restaurant upstairs was delicious.
We visited this place for a romantic escapade from Panama City, and the rooms were everything and more than advertised. We stayed in a Junior Suite which has it’s own fireplace, king bed with futon, kitchenette, full bathroom with bathtub and a small living room...More

There are buses, but I would do the quick route. If you are going to Los Quetzals and have no car, best is to phone them (I'd let them know your arrival time ahead of time so they can plan it a bit). They can come shuttle you to Guadalupe.
We rented a car. It was very inexpensive and easy at the David airport. There aren't that many roads and the roads are very good. The road to Bouquet is straight north from David. To get to Los Quetzals at Guadalupe, go north out of the airport and left on Panama 1 (Interamerican) about 45k or so our to La Concepcion and turn right on the road to Volcan. In the middle of Volcan there is a major intersection well-marked where you turn right on the road to Guadalupe. Where that ends in a T intersection in Guadalupe, Loz Quetzales is just to the right.
