Stayed here for 4 nights. Very basic rooms . Staff does not speak English at all. Hot water for shower but cold sink water . All channels are Spanish. They have restaurant in hotel which is decent. Good deal for price you pay .

Great location, convenient. Clean, adequately-sized room, decent lighting, we slept well. We liked the courtyard charm, and especially the inviting bar area where we enjoyed beer in the evening. The wifi did not work in the room, but worked great in the bar area, and also somewhat in the courtyard. Nice flowers around the hotel. The staff did not speak...

A gorgeous hotel with lots of stained glass and very friendly staff. Masses of hanging flowers hang down around the restaurant adding charm but make sure you speak at least a little Spanish as there aren't any English speakers on staff. Typical pointing and smiling will get you by, but you'll need to read the menu first which can be...

The hotel was quaint making the most of the enclosed courtyard. The rooms are a bit run down and very standard. We were there on a Saturday night and there was a function upstairs that was very loud. It went until the early hours of the morning. The breakfast was standard. There is parking available.

i stopped here for lunch on my way to Lanquin. I stupidly left my phone on a table on the balcony (which my friend was sitting at) while I went to the bathroom. The phone had been swiped by the time I got back. The only other people in the restaurant were staff. I contacted the hotel to inquire and...

Hi aoife, saddly i have bad news because we cannot see the area we assume you where sitting in, i talked with all of the staff members about your missing cellphone and apparently they told me none of them heard at any time that there was a problem or complaint abount a missing cellphone and i also asked the bus...

If you are seeking creature comforts with the tidiness of an upscale chain, this is not the place. It is not air conditioned. Furniture is not new. Ventilation in my bathroom, high up, was permanently open to the outside, so it was not quiet. During my recent stay repairs and improvement were underway. Work started early and continued into the...

I have to agree with other negative reviewers: the place is kinda gross. It's a nice old building and the staff was fine. But it's musty and the rooms are spartan at best ( I meant to take a photo of the battered, ripped lampshade at my bedside table). The bathroom was not very clean. I killed numerous insects in...

this place has zero ambience, is loud, rooms lack any character at all, and is utilitarian at best. the rooms are marginally clean. they smell of the cleaning fluids that are used. it is on the street of a large local street market which is pretty cool and very genuine. not a good place to be out at night. there...

This was our second time in Coban. We couldn't get in at Casa Duranta, so we tried Alcazar. The hotel and room were clean but extremely lacking in character or charm, as was the front desk staff. The location is not exactly convenient and definitely not walkable after dark. This is not the place to stay if you like to...

I went to Guatemala with a group of college students and we helped build homes in Coban with Habitat for Humanity. This hotel was the perfect place to come back to and relax! Our rooms were clean and cool, the food was amazing, and they had a patio/bar area that we all congregated in. We always had wifi and they...
