This is exactly like the pictures, really nice cabins and I suppose the only downside (for the comfort part of me) was the bathrooms being shared. However they are very well maintained and you never really have any trouble. Can be a bit noisy due to the proximity to the main bridge in Rio Dulce as you get large trucks... More

This place is awesome. The food, location and accommodation is great. I recommend a twin cabin instead of the dorms but either way you have great wooden huts, lounge areas and a fantastic restaurant on the water. We loved lounging around so much that you could easily just chill out at the hotel and forget to see anything around you.... More

So pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you! for your reminder to be sure to visit the great Canyon of the Rio Dulce, the hot springs and caves on that trip to Livingston. More

The hotel is located in a quiet area just down the river from Rio Dulce. The hotel has a boat that comes and collects you. This is a great place if you would just like somewhere to relax for a few days as there is not a lot to do at the resort. They have areas where you can swim... More

We booked reservations on Booking.com yesterday to stay at this hotel in a few days time, the rate advertised was great and the pictures looked amazing. I recieved an email from Booking.com confirming my reservation and the price booked. Then an hour later I recieved an email from the Tortugal saying that the rate quoted on Booking.com was incorrect and... More

Stayed one night only in transit between Livingston and Guatemala city, lovely new wood cabin with fan loved the setting, there seemed to be quite a crowd of yachties who had social activities organised for the evenings quizzes, films etc if that floats your boat. Food good wifi in restaurant!! 😎

The restaurant here is fantastic. Large healthy portions are served by attentive and friendly staff. Unfortunately we also spent a night here. We were staying in the economy room so I understand that it's not going to be the Ritz but we were kept awake by the sound from the traffic on the bridge, the movement of other guests above... More

I left my car in a small parking area under the bridge spanning the Río Dulce and only had to wait 5 minutes till the Tortugal's skiff came from the other side of the river to transport me to the facility. I was lodged in one of the thatch-roofed bungalows, constructed of bamboo and wood, at the rear of the... More

We stayed in the private room with a shared bathroom. The room was lovely, the bed was extra comfortable and the showers were really hot. The restaurant serves good food, but the prices are a bit higher than in the Fronteras center. But even though you are on the river, you are not trapped in the hotel and you can... More

We stayed 5 nights in Tortugal. A friend who has been to Guatemala 11 times told us to spoil ourselves and stay there and he was dead right. Very well organised and clear information about all the facilities available to you, including the free use of kayaks, lovely walks through team and mahogany plantations and a variety of places of... A really nice open air room in a nice setting with a good restaurant. Price seems to be in line with like properties around. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is that for some reason they did not service our room. The only way to get there is by boat which for the most part is free... More
