Travelers' Choice 2019 Winner
Certificate of Excellence
Tea Trails is part of the Resplendent Ceylon “best of Sri Lanka” circuit, created by the family-owned Dilmah Tea Company. Three Relais & Chateaux resorts; Tea Trails, Cape Weligama & Wild Coast Tented Lodge, form an enchanting "Route de Bonheur (Happiness)" from tea fields to clifftop beach & safari lodge. Ceylon Tea Trails is a collection of five colonial era tea planters' bungalows restored to impeccable style, offering a taste of gracious living in 27 suites and rooms, with butler service and original furnishings, accompanied by gourmet meals. Walking trails connect the bungalows which are from 2km to 15km apart. Follow the Tea Trail from one unique bungalow to the next, staying a night or two at each or just laze in one. Rates are fully inclusive of gourmet meals and drinks, including spirits and wines. Even service charges, taxes and laundry are included. We won't bother you with bills.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback on your stay at the Tientsin bungalow, and glad that you enjoyed the Dilmah Dunkeld tea factory tour. The way we make tea hasn't changed for the last 150 years - an artisanal and traditional manufacture, maintaining the quality of Ceylon Tea. Taking the float plane is a fabulous experience, very rapid and scenic. Warm wishes, Malik

Hi glad that you’d like to spend part of your honeymoon at Tea Trails. Most certainly you can specify which bungalow you’d like to stay in, subject to availability. The bungalow and room is allocated at time of booking. At busy times the choice can be limited. Each of the five bungalows is distinctive and special so you won’t go wrong! You might like to also consider Tea Trails’s sister resorts Cape Weligama and Wild Coast Tented Lodge. We call the circuit the Resplendent Sri Lanka Journey - tea, sea & safari.
