A visit to Sri Lanka is never complete without a tour to a wild life sanctuary. Out of the many wild life parks it has to offer its visitors, Yala National Park situated in the deep south of the island is a must visit. Abundant with wildlife, where the majestic Sri Lankan elephant still reigns supreme and the ever elusive leopard, in its graceful elegance, tip toes its way to a hunt or to quench its thirst at its favourite water hole. Experience Sri Lanka’s big 5 from the corridors of their habitats and listen to the music of the birds on the canopy above, and hear the animal calls as you were among them, sharing their space. Yala is a park that has to be experienced from within. At Wild Trails we offer you an experience; a camping facility with luxurious accommodation, unforgettable hospitality and a sumptuous array of food and a tasteful collection of spirits and wines.

Here at the moment. Great spot, friendly staff and most memorable dinner under the night skies.... tasty food... love the place..... improvements, should really have cold beers and ice... or advice guest to bring their own eskis...... worst feeling is to be told there are no cold beers when you return from the park rounds!!

This place is somewhere in the jungle. Close to the Yala Park. We were there for two nights and it was an amazing experience. The fact that you sleep in a tent in the jungle is so cool! It was our first safari and for the first time sleeping in tent in location like this! We felt safe at all! The staff crew was very kind and professional. Special thanks to Pradat from the staff! He took us on the very first day for a short sunset walk and show us a male Elephant, and on the second day he showed us an amazing sunrise! Totally recommend it!

We are a group of four that stayed in the double tent for two nights. Beds are very comfortable and clean as was the ensuite bathroom. Unfortunately the shower pressure is more of a large dribble than a proper shower - enough to get wet and cool down, but not enough if you want to wash long hair. There is no aircon, just fans and it was hot - this is what camping is though. We went on a guided bush walk the first afternoon, where we saw a few birds, peacocks, land monitors and a couple of tortoise. We had pre-dinner drinks around a campfire where we met other guests. We were having such a good chat that they rearranged the seating for dinner so that we could all sit together and continue our conversation. Food was fresh, tasty and a changing menu each day to give variety. This accommodation is in the middle of nowhere, which gives a great feeling of seclusion. The second day we were up early to go on a safari, which they packed us a breakfast box. Except for safari, bush walking, using the WiFi or reading there isn’t much to do. 2 days was certainly enough in Yala. The staff were friendly, accommodation comfortable and clean and they set up a great environment to met other travellers.

We had an overnight stay here recently, wish we could have stayed longer. Excellent stay from the minute we arrived until leaving. Prabath is a great guy and he and his team looked after us very well. Dinner served outside was very special, excellent local cuisine. The tents are really lovely, very spacious a good fan and a very comfortable bed. It’s so peaceful here and will certainly be telling family and friends. Debbie and Karl England

Stayed two nights at Wild Trails Yala and was an awesome experience. The tents are very artistically done and spacious and as good as a four star hotel. The food is far better than any of the five star hotels we stayed in during our holiday in Sri Lanka. Try their unique curries with a lot of spice. We heard the call of the leopard in the night close to our tent which was scary and exciting too. Prabath the manager showed us the foot prints at the camp in the morning. The safari with Prabath was amazing and our kids really enjoyed it. Will recommend the camp to any family with kids on holiday to experience a night or two in the bush.
