A visit to Sri Lanka is never complete without a tour to a wild life sanctuary. Out of the many wild life parks it has to offer its visitors, Yala National Park situated in the deep south of the island is a must visit. Abundant with wildlife, where the majestic Sri Lankan elephant still reigns supreme and the ever elusive leopard, in its graceful elegance, tip toes its way to a hunt or to quench its thirst at its favourite water hole. Experience Sri Lanka’s big 5 from the corridors of their habitats and listen to the music of the birds on the canopy above, and hear the animal calls as you were among them, sharing their space. Yala is a park that has to be experienced from within. At Wild Trails we offer you an experience; a camping facility with luxurious accommodation, unforgettable hospitality and a sumptuous array of food and a tasteful collection of spirits and wines.

We spent a night here last month and did two safaris with the camp ranger Thushara. The location was great, far away from the roads, and they provide 4*4 jeep from the pickup point, which was great as we were traveling in a small car. Everything was perfect in the camp; they helped arrange special dietary requirements for my sister, even with terse notice. The food was all authentic Sri Lankan meals, which were delicious. The tents were spacious and clean, and even it is in the middle of the bush, there were electricity and water all the time. The staff was great and polite all the time. They arranged us two safaris with Camp Ranger and driver Priyashan, who showed us three leopards and a rare young tusker and a sloth bear in Block 1 of Yala National Park. Special thanks to Thushara for wearing multiple hats as a manager and a ranger who made us feel home at the camp. I hope to return to the Wild trails once again soon.

Luxurious tented expeerince with excellent service. The camp is located in the buffer zone close to the main entrance to the Yala national park. The tent is very large and spacious. Each Tent is separated from one and another separated with forest cover. We were woken up in the morning with the sounds of birds. The camp Ranger Thushara showed us foot prints of the elephant which had come to drink water from the rock pool close to the camp. We were mostly served local meals which was a bit spicy but deliciousand the meals that had during our holiday. The dinner under the stars was one unique experience and also the clear sky with a lot stars was a life time experience . We did two safaris one to the ancient ruins and temples which is in the national park and also saw a lot of animals on this drive. On the second safari we managed to get a glimpse of the exclusive leopard but there were too many vehicles in the park unlike the first drive to the ancient drive where we were by ourselves. A big thank you to Thushara the camp Ranger/Manager who accompanied us on the safaris and also the staff for the excellent service. We certainly recommend the camp to anyone travelling to this beautiful Island.

Wild trails Yala was the highlight of our holiday in Sri Lanka. We arrived at the pick up point on a gravel road to be picked up by the camp jeep accompanied by the manager Jayantha. The drive to the camp was an experience of its own. The tents are very spacious and also has an attached toilet with a shower cubicle. There were two fans in the tent. We were taken on a bush walk in the evening by the resident ranger and we came across an elephant close to the camp which was a memorable experience though it was a bit scary. we saw a lot of bird species and also visited a cave. The bonfire and dinner under the stars was a romantic experience and the jungle sounds in the night around the camp was amazing. The morning safari to the ancient temples though the park and also the view from top of the rock at the ancient temple where you could see the whole of Yala national park is a must. We were lucky to spot a leopard on our way back and it was a sighting all by ourselves as there was no other jeep and less vehicles on this drive. We also so a few elephants, deer and birds. The afternoon safari too was good with a lot of sightings but there were too many vehicles at the sightings and not like the morning safari. We lover the local cuisine served at camp though it was bit spicy. We would highly recommend a two night stay at Wild trails Yala if you are visiting the Yala National park. Keep up the good work.

I found my experience with Wild Trails Yala horrendous. The staff are unreliable and do not appreciate their patient customers. They have taken a large amount of money from me and I do not believe that they are trustworthy.
