We had a wonderful time at this very special place due to the amazing team, great safari experience and unique ambience. It is not the right place for everyone (see below), but we loved it. Safari and guide: We booked a 3 night package and spent 2.5 days at Yala National Park and one morning at Bundala National Park. We saw a huge variety of animals and birds incl. leopards (3 times on 2 days, see photo), elephants and most other famous residents of the park. The biodiversity and landscape at Yala National Park is awesome and our guide Rumesh was an excellent guide and driver. If you are interested in birds and beautiful landscape, Bundala is also worth a visit. The tours were very well planned and we had an amazing lunch and 2 hour break inside the park at a very nice place near a river. This break is needed on a 12-14 hour safari day and it is great to experience both the early morning and the late afternoon in the park (perfect light for photography and most animals are more active). Before departure at 5 a.m. you will just get a Nescafe or tea, but you will have packed breakfast and plenty of snacks and fruits on the jeep too. Team, accomodation and food The service of the entire team was excellent. If you let them know what you want, they will do everything possible to customize the experience for you. We loved the wide selection of vegetable curries from chef Isha and they arranged special dishes for us even if the planned theme of the evening was different, like e.g. BBQ. The ambience of the camp is unique and it really feels like a camp. Our room (Skynest) was very comfortable and special (canopy level above most trees). At night lamps are setup along the trail to the main building, but better bring a torch additionally. If you bring a several electronic devices (cameras, phones, etc.) to be charged at night, the two power sockets in the room might be insufficient. A power extention with multiple sockets might be a useful addition to the room. Reasons to book or to stay away If you want fast and reliable internet, a swimming pool, a wide selection of drinks or excellent coffee, you should chose another place. If you want to have a very special experience, if you like nature a lot and if you want to get out of the stressful urbon life, Leopard Nest will be a very good choice. Thank you very much to the great team of Leopard Nest!…
Tours Beyond (Dhammika) and Mr. Thowfeek made the trip super special. I had young children and it was COVID. They really took care of everything and made the experience wonderful and enjoyable for my family. Thank you for your kindness!
The staff is very friendly and helpful! We spend the night in one of the treehouses, it's an amazing experience. When the tree moves a little bit because of the wind, the treehouse moves also a bit, which is super nice to experience. Also the view from the treehouse is beautiful!
Terrific staff and guides in a very comfortable glamping facility. The food and service was first rate. Staff was very accommodating. I recommend it. I recommend both the morning and afternoon safaris. Doing both in one day is a challenge.
If you are looking for a rustic boutique hotel with tree huts and rooms this is the place! With only a few rooms it never gets crowded and the rooms/tree huts are located with plenty of space between them so you get the feeling you are the only one there! Food is really really nice, both breakfast lunch and dinner. Dinner is mostly served outside under the stars! Such an maxing experience! Safari is top class with talented drivers with lots of experience.
Breathtaking views from treehouses! (By far) the best dinner we’ve eaten in Sri Lanka and super friendly service! Highly recommended!! We loved IT! ♥️🔥 we spent here only a couple of hours but fell in love with the place! Greetings to the general manager :):)
Me and My family enjoyed the stay at Leopard Nest alot. We were warmly welcomed and was given a superb service. We also received a bonfire and a bbq dinner. Superb service. Highly recommended!!! Dumisha & Family
We had a lovely stay at the Sky Nest. It was a unique experience living in the jungle. Staff were very helpful and friendly and food was simple, but yummy! There is no wifi available in the property and mobile signal is also not that great, which is understandable as we are in the middle of the jungle. If you are looking for a luxury hotel stay then this might not be the option, but if you are into a jungle glamping experience then you will love this location!
Stayed a night and it was really a different experience. Staff was friendly and did their best to make our staying special throughout the day. Great for nature lovers and who seeks calm and quite environment.
we are so happy that we got the chance to spend our Yala staycation at Leopard Nest and we truly enjoyed every single thing. The staff was amazing and friendly, Food was so good and we really cherished the candle light dinner that was organized by the staff. I had my first tree house experience and it was amazing. I would highly recommend leopard nest for all the travellers. Kudos to the team and we will surely visit you soon. Thank You!
