This is a really nice place. A nice spot on the calm end of Welligama bay. A fantastic view over the ocean perfect for watching the magnificent sunset. The staff and the manager really took care of us, making our stay here perfect! Rooms are clean, modern and spacious. Breakfast is nice, with a buffé. Eggs, omelettes, pancakes,etc is cooked in the kitchen on request without extra charge. And the dahl is delicious! Its our third time here, and we will come back again!

Very clean room and helpful and pleasant staff. The lunch provided was really delicious. The check-in was seamless. The staff was very helpful as to the conditions in regard to swimming in the sea. The pool was immaculately maintained.

Checked into the hotel very quickly! The staff are all very smiling and positive. Which is very good for the overall impression. When we bought the tour, the operator said that they would put us in a room with a sea view, but in fact the operator deceived us and they gave us a view of palm trees and private houses behind the hotel. If you want to wake up with an ocean view and plan to spend a lot of time in your room or hotel, it's worth paying extra. We practically did not stay at the hotel, but we paid extra for the ocean view. It's worth it. I had a deal to rent a car to drive around the area, and at that moment I met the manager of the hotel Manoj, who very quickly solved my need for a vehicle. The price of the bike is standard, comfortable and not high. It is a pleasure to communicate with the manager, he also organized a trip to the Yala Park for two with his wife. When in the bureau and from tour operators they make massive arrivals with a lot of people in an uncomfortable bus. The rooms are all clean and bright, everything is dry and comfortable. Breakfast at the hotel is the same everywhere. It seems to me that you shouldn’t take them through the operator’s tour, but it’s better to order what you want on the spot. The pool in the hotel is clean and cool, which is very cool against the backdrop of good weather.

Still Stay in this hotel from 10/29/2021 for 2 weeks and i think all aspects of this place is not ready for accepting a guests. Cleaning room each 3-4 days but if you don't notify the personnel about that so your room will stay dirty. I was curious about stuped rule of providing Wifi vouchers just maximum for 2 devices and only for 7 days, after this period you should take new vouchers. And Wifi speed is very slow. All Hotel staff have very poor English except the general manager. If you want to call reception from your room then better to have a chance because it's on reception desk and there is always no one there. Bottom line. By staying in this hotel you always need to ask and search for somebody to help you in regular things that should work but they are not working. Understand there were 2 empty seasons in Sri Lanka but this place is not ready to accept guests. P.S. Due to this place being very close to a river the coast near the hotel is extremely dirty and ocean water is brown. Be very carefull on this hotel beach, so many sand fleas, photo is attached.

Dear Value Guest, As we are battered by the long closures and no guests from time to time due to lock downs following Covid pandemic we express our concern about inadequacies in some areas of service but what you have written about the cleaning and cleanliness of the hotel is not correct. We have given our utmost priority to room cleanliness which could be confirmed by reading few reviews written down below. As per the wifi connection we have a policy of two connections per double room as all these are included in the very very discounted rate offered to you. And the speed from time to time of course could be due to technical problems of the provider which is out of our control and no one has ever complained about the speed so far. We guarantee our beach doesn’t have sand flies and what you have experienced may not be from our locality as we are aware you have visited some other areas where sand flies are abundant. The river mouth is close to the hotel with very good scenically beautiful beach which is basically not crowded and due to very active monsoonal rains continuing and with flooding of upriver areas the water of the ocean in front of the hotel is muddy which is of course beyond our control too. And which will disappear with few days of dry weather. Thank you for taking lot of time to write this review trying to tarnish our image the reason for your writing is still unknown to us. Ayubowan!

I spent one night at 22Weligambay with friends - the service and hospitality from Manoj and his team was much appreciated. Every request was met with a smile and we felt very welcome. The rooms were large and clean with comfortable beds. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and when we requested hoppers for breakfast, the kitchen obliged with no hesitation. If you are looking for a very reasonably priced holiday in a comfortable hotel with great food and service, this is a good option.

The hotel is perfectly situated right on the beach, but away from the crowds, allowing for relaxing beach lounging and surf lessons. The room was an oasis of comfort with a picturesque view and a plush king sized bed. The personally controlled A/C made the room a great reprieve from the sun, if the ocean and meticulously maintained pool did not suffice.
Definitely didn't want to leave.

Beautiful location by the ocean. Our room was kindly upgraded to ocean view and it was the best hotel view I’ve seen for a long time. I believe the windows have been built extra large to let in the view. The room also had a balcony.
Nice and clean and very convenient. Higiene could be better around the pool area (sunbeds and towels).
The big surprise was dinner, as the order was taken on check-in and it was cooked to order at the preferred time. It was by far the best meal we’ve had in Sri Lanka this week:

We spent 2 nights and stayed in the Ocean Suite. The experience was magnificent. You could see the whole beach area from the spacious balcony in the Ocean Suite. You could view a beautiful sunset from there for sure. The rooms are great too. Very spacious with beautiful artworks hanging on walls. The beds are really comfortable. There are big windows in the room so you could view the beach.
The food was excellent! Very tasty. Also there's a big variety of food to choose from which is awesome.
The service was great too. The staff is very friendly and helpful and always ask for our needs.
The hotel has a nice pool overlooking the ocean. Had a wonderful time there.
Also specially, the beach is very calm and quiet there without a bid crowd.
Overall, a great place to enjoy a vacation and definitely worth the price.

It is a small scale hotel with excellent facilities. Pool, Garden Beach, Bar, Restaurant all available on-site in a small scale, even though the scale is small the maintenance is excellent as it is clean and welcoming. Nature supports the hotel, beyond the pool is a beautiful pristine beach and sea perfect for surfing.

We had the privilege of staying in 22Weligambay Hotel recently and it was our first time in this hotel. The Food, friendly Staff and the Hotel is excellent. Further more to our surprise our room was upgraded to the very spacious ‘Ocean View Suite’ where we enjoyed every moment of our staying in this hotel and it was unfortunate that we could not stay longer due to our other commitments. We will definitely come back. Special THANK YOU to the Manager and his staff. We have stayed in many other hotels in other parts of Sri Lanka, but 22Weligambay is ‘The Best’. Thanks to the Management. We recommend this hotel to anyone who wish to visit down south / southern coast of Sri Lanka. Thumbs up to the Management.

Honestly we don't have this cockroach in the room. In Sri Lanka is a tropical Asian country and there some in commonly. But our hotel we didn't find any. We are doing pest control in periodically.
