This is a swiss style chalet, very well maintain and the stuffs very friendly and helpful. The room is clean with attached bathroom and small kitchen (I'm not sure wherether kitchen is attached for every room though). Since there is nothing much surround the chalet I strongly recommend to buy some groceries and cook for the dinner or supper especially during winter season. Wifi and breakfast is provided. We ski at YongPyong resort and the chalet provide the free transport for us to and from there, thumb ups for this. As overall, this chalet is nice to stay and enjoy!

When we first arrived, this hotel had no record of our booking. The hotel owner (who is also a part -time professor by the way and speaks good English) thought we might be at the wrong place. But after showing him our voucher from Agoda, he made a phone call and was able to accommodate us. It seems that the fault was with Agoda (or Agoda's agent in Korea), not with the hotel. In fact, he gave an upgraded room, what appeared to be the "honeymoon suite". It was a very large room, a duplex suite with a four poster bend on the higher level, and a lounge, kitchen area, and bathroom on the lower level. It also had a wooden balcony. The room was very warm, from underfloor heating (as is the norm in Korea). The wooden chalet is quaint, and the decorations (of which there are many) are very cutesy. Not perhaps to everyone's taste, many might describe it as kitsch. The hotel is a 10-15 min walk from the Alpensia ski resort. The friendly owner seems willing to drop people there is his car. This resort, it should be mentioned, is considerably smaller than the nearby Yongpyong ski resort, and perhaps best suited for beginners. The Yongpyong ski resort however is not too far away (a few kms at most) and easily reachable by taxi. Wifi was free and reliable. The hotel is reasonable value if you want to stat in Alpensia on a budget. The purpose-built resort itself is pretty much owned and/or run by the Holiday Inn and it's sister hotel, the Intercontinental, which are both much more expensive. As an aside, we went into the Holiday Inn Welcome Centre to order a taxi to return to our hotel (due to inclement weather conditions). As there appears to be no taxi's in Alpensia itself, one has to be ordered from a nearby town. But instead of doing that, the manager gave us a lift back to our hotel in his own car. What great customer service (or rather non-customer service, as we were not customers at the Holiday Inn!!) Full marks to him and the Holiday Inn for that. Nice job. In general, we found Korean's very helpful towards tourists and visitors to their country. Proactively so in many cases.
