Last six years ago, I have been visited to Merciel Retreat and Resorts, Ngapali Beach. Infinity swimming pool is great and beautiful. Staff are super friendly and helpful. They are always cheerful and ready to assist whatever I need. Breakfast is delicious and all foods are good
Just after the porters quickly grabbed our bags, handed us a cool cloth, gave us a refreshing glass of coconut water, I stood up and walked through the lobby to look at the hotel’s beach. When I saw the shining Bay of Bengal, the pristine swimming pool and the palm trees at the waters’s edge, I swear — after a few moments — I felt like I’d lost 10 lbs. of stress, worries and travel weariness. The Merciel Resort is a couple of miles past the bigger towns and more crowded tourist areas but for us, that was perfect. We needed quiet. I definitely recommend upgrading to a beachfront bungalow. The room was awesome. It had a porch where each evening we sat, waiting for the gorgeous sunsets. First thing, every morning, we opened the curtains to a beautiful beach view. The food was great. We ate all our meals there. When we wanted to check out more of the island, the staff would call us a tuk-tuk, and we could go anywhere we wanted. One driver even added a short trip to a local fishing village, so we could see how the residents lived and worked. The staff did nothing but smile and give us great service. (Footnote: this is NOT a place for late night partiers. And, while we were there a bit of construction was going on to fix some of the bungalows that were damaged by storm surf.) This Ngapali Beach resort revived us...like a real vacation should. 🌴😎…
We stayed here for 12 nights and during that time the staff were so helpful and friendly, they were attentive but not overpowering. The rooms are large and very clean (although bathrooms are in need of some renovations), with amazing views of the beach and sunset. Their restaurant serves very good food at very good price. Although only 3 minutes from airport, plane noise was never a problem in fact I can honestly say you just can’t hear them. Definitely on my list for next year, thanks to everyone.
I was very happy on arrival to see my big spacious room and wonderful balcony overlooking the ocean and sunset. The beach here is rocky but there is sand for kids to play in. There is a beautiful pool for swimming. The more sandy beaches are about 3km away but it's quite noisy down there with trucks motorbikes and buses making terrible noise. So I went to the sandy beaches in the daytime and was happy to come back here to peace and quiet. I had the most amazing sleep every night here, not a sound to be heard. The food was always amazing, any fish dish and the chicken satay was awesome. Breakfast too filled me up so much I often had lunch at 6pm. There was also a spa which was excellent and I was kindly given a complimentary massage. The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough to help and were super attentive. I left with my batteries charged 100%, truly amazing! …
This is an excellent hotel. The territory is very beautiful and well-groomed.The staff and service are beyond praise. They are perfect. The cook excellently. The chef cooks superbly. Moreover, they decorated my room and restaurant on my birthday and help me to organize my birthday party. As a present they cooked a cake for me.It was so unexpected and nice. So,everything about this hotel is great-territory,rooms,staff,service,food. There is a beach next to the hotel. I definitely recommend this hotel. Best regards,Marina
The Merciel team is surely one of the friendlies and kindest teams we have met on our trip at Ngapali beach. They take care of every wish of their guests and try to make you feel you are in paradise. The place is decorated with love, very colourful and with a large swimming pool. The kitchen offers many different dishes and beverages. It is a peaceful area, so one can surely relax. Thank you dear Merciel team for making our stay so lovely. ☺️
We were lucky enough to spend four nights at this magical hotel shared between the Sea View and Bungalow rooms. The rooms are good value for money, particularly the bungalows. The hotel is set at a quiet end of Ngapali Beach away from most of the action, which means there is plenty of space on the beach and room to feel remote. The pool, bar and restaurant provide excellent service and the sunsets are incredible. The restaurant catered for all our vegetarian requests and the food is delicious. One of the best meals we had in Ngapali. The cocktail waiter will make cocktails not on the menu so be sure to ask what else he can whip up! The staff were wonderful and made sure all of our needs were looked after. They arranged us medical help after a soft sand incident on an e-bike. It felt like there was a small team looking after us throughout our stay. Highly recommend staying here. …
What an amazing resort. The staff are absolutely lovely, extremely helpful and overall amazing. They always say hello, always have a smile on their faces and really made our experience here one to remember. My daughter had her birthday here which we didn’t tell them about however they saw when we were registering that she would have her birthday during our stay and waited for us to be at the pool for the housekeeping to decorate our room. They blew up balloons and had flowers on her bed as well as giving us a cake and candles to help celebrate! Such a kind and thoughtful thing to do and really made her day that extra bit special. Not only are the staff amazing but so are the rooms, we had a beachfront room which was really nice to have to watch the sunrise and sunset, these memories are ones we will keep with us forever. They were very clean and had a TV, snacks, water and aircon. Every night the staff bring by a little treat which was a delight to receive. We got given cookies, cheesecake and creme caramel. Yum! Breakfast buffet is good, a good selection of food and coffee was great, we all ended up having three cups each each morning! Pool is fantastic, nice and cooling while giving you a incredible view of the sea. We spent our days on the comfortable lounges reading, eating and listing to the sound of the waves. They also have a bar which is great to sit at and watch the sunset. We really loved this resort as well due to how quiet it was, it is a bit out of the way from restaurants and massage places however worth the $5 aud drive to as we got our peace and quiet while at the resort. Really looking forward to coming back and staying with Merciel again.…
This was booked for the final stage of our myanmar trip and was perfect to relax here. The staff are really awesome and breakfast, although lacking a little variety, was also really tasty. We had the beachfront bungalow where you can see the waves crashing up the seawall at high tide. These are well appointed with large, semi-external bathroom and a huge bath which is almost a swimming pool. Wifi was ok but sketchy at times (in the bungalow). The pool and adjacent beach are fabulous. Although some items are a little run down like the pool lounges and umbrellas, the tide pool and the surrounding decking but I suspect they have ongoing maintenance with water penetration over the sea wall during the typhoon season. Good access to nearby restaurants (K2), free bicycle use and taxis directly outside. Airport is 1 minute by car. Kaw Lin Oo in the sunken bar is the man to befriend during happy hour. We'll come back here for sure. …
We stayed at there for 3 days. It is very close to the Airport. You can’t go to the water just directly from the room, you need to you some stairs but it is nice to take pics. Love the coconut tree in front of the pool, the attraction of this hotel! They provide many foods for breakfast. Also have a bathtub, and shower. I do recommend this place especially for couples and family!
