This was easily the weirdest place weve stayed during our trip in Laos and thats by no means a bad thing. The bungalows are a bit funky and oddly put together, but it works. Considering the rates you're getting your money's worth. Kong also offers great tours of the plain of jars and secret war related sites which are very... More

I stayed in the dorm for 2 nights and took the Plain of jars tour. The dorm itself has about 10 beds I think, all with a mosquito net and quite comfortable. The bathroom is clean and the shower hot, which is great! They also have some little bungalows with private rooms, although I didn't stay in them. The owner,... More

We loved that place even if we just stayed there for two nights. It was just amazing to sit at the fire and talk about the history of this beautiful country and the storys of their people. Go there if you are really interested in the country and the history!

Great guesthouse, perfect tour. Clean, hot water, good pressure in the shower, great stories from Kong. Tour worth every kip, perfect for people who like to get insightful stories & get off the beaten track.

The rooms are fairly basic but for the cheap price you pay they are very good value! There is a great outdoor common area with a fire each night where you sit and talk with the other travellers! :-) Kong, the host, is a quirky but funny guy who will really help you enjoy your stay - usually with a... We didn't stay at the guesthouse, so I can't review it. However, Kong's Plain of Jars tour was truly excellent. We especially enjoyed going to the Hmong village. Unlike the Hmong village we visited on a different tour, this Hmong village seemed authentic (no little kids dressed up to sell stuff to tourists). Kong was was very informative throughout the... Having read a recent negative review, we felt compelled to offer our opinion... We stayed at Kong ' s place recently and it was excellent from start to finish. He is very welcoming and knowledgeable and happy to help you. We would highly recommend his tour. Kong is really thorough and doesn't rush - we were out from 8.30-7.30 and... More

Mr Kong is a knowledgeable, friendly man. He has really helped me with anything that I needed in phonsavan. He also knows plenty of information about Laos. Stayed in the dorm room. Was single beds, not bunk beds. Would recommend.

Kong, the owner was drunk when we arrived, but everything seemed okay. We got a room, but after we discovered there was no water in the guesthouse we wanted to ask if it was temporary or not. Kong had disappeared for hours, so eventually we left the hostel leaving behind a note explaining why. While walking down the rode he... More

This is a must if you are in Phonsavan . We had a fantastic day with Kong starting with the plains of jar , then to mongo village, we saw cock fighting and had a delicious lunch. We then went to an amazing cave. You need to hear the stories that go with the places you visit, this is what... More
