We were the first to stay in his completely self built bungalow! It's very big and clean. The most beautiful place we stayed in so far. He is still building 2 more of this new ones so this place Will get his former known reputation of being a very good place to stay back. The nice shelter with firebombpit is... More

We stayed here for 4 nights as we were trying to fill time before new year celebrations in Luang Prabang. Two days in phonsaven should be enough time to see the plain of jars, the MAG centre (mines advisory group) and a trip out to the bomb craters, village, war cave and hot springs. We stayed in one of the... More

This place clearly has seen better days when it was "rustic and charming". Now it's completely dilapidated. The bungalows are thatched together with metal, wood, random plastic boards... Construction is going on all around the place- or rather seems halted- not so pretty. The common area has good tables and plastic chairs but all the comfy stuff like lounge cushions and... More

We were supposed to stop just for one night in Phonsavan, but we end up staying longer. Kong and his wife are very good hosts, they are very attentive to their guests needs. Our room was basic but very comfortable and clean, with hot water. Kong speaks perfectly English and is passionate and very knowledgeable about the history of this... More

I did't sleep at the hostel but I've done the tour of the Plain of Jars with Mr. Kong. It was absolutely a fantastic tour! Mr. Kong take you to all the 3 sites and give you a lot of information about the "most secret place in the world" and the UXO sites. He was very informative and give you... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was our favourite guest house in Southeast Asia so far. The rooms were clean and nice with very hot showers (great as it was quite cold). Kong and his wife were attentive hosts. Kong speaks perfect English and is extremely knowledgeable about the area. He also runs some good value tours with... More

We took the tour to Jar Site 1, Hmong village, Thom Piu Cave, and hotsprings. Kong's tours are better priced than anywhere else in town (that we checked), and had a very personal feel to it. The Hmong children love to see him coming because he gives them balloons, which is adorable. We learned a lot and saw a lot!... More

I spent three nights and did a one-day trip with Mr Keo to the bomb village, a hmong village and a craters site: very nice and clean room with everything needed and great trip with a lot of explanations on Laos and historical events, plus a very nice trip to some hot springs... The owner (and tour guide) and his... More

I stayed at the guesthouse and took a tour with Kong, as was recommended to me by travelers I met in another city. Kong was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. During the tour, he provided a heartfelt and honest perspective of the landscape and the events that took place, unlike too many other tour guides who gloss over facts or... More
