This little hotel/hostel has it all!! Lovely and modern with a great variety of room options and a nice little pool area to relax around when you're not taking part in the many activities Vang Vieng has to offer. The staff were also amazing, we decided we wanted to upgrade to a room with a balcony and the lovely receptionist showed us the different options to help us make our decision. There are stunning views of the hills from the hotel making for plenty of photo opportunities at sunset as the hot air ballons fly over. There is a huge amount of attention to detail put into this hotel and as westayed there on Valentines, we were left a small gift of biscuits in our room, which was a really sweet touch. The hotel is also incredible value for money and offers lots of services such as washing at great prices to, making everything so much easier for us, we weren't having to spend a morning completing chores, big bonus as we were onlythere for three nights! It was an all round perfect stay, I highly recommend this hotel and we would deffinitley stay again!

The private double room was amazing. The room & bathroom were big and had the comfiest bed we’ve stayed in on our travels so far. You also get a bottle of water each day in the room which is a nice touch.
The pool was a really good addition, to the hostel with hammocks, sun loungers and chairs to relax in.
The hostel faces the mountains so the sunset is beautiful every night, with hot air balloons flying over too!
The hostel is in great location, but away from the noise. They even recommend some amazing restaurants for us to try!
The staff were all friendly & helpful when we booked a tour with them.

Our only negative was that we booked our mini van to Vientiane through the hostel.. which turned out to be awful. The van was smaller than expected, stopped off to pick up local people (although the bus was full) multiple times... and the driving was unsafe, we left our seat several times due to hitting potholes at speeds with no seatbelts. It seemed to be run more like a local bus, even though we’d paid for a mini van service like previous times.
It was just a shame that a hostel so perfect had such a bad mini van company connect with it. Our advice would be to book it elsewhere and enjoy the stay.

Still in town and walking distance to everything our double room with mountain view was spacious and comfortable. It included a good shower, air conditioning, electric fan, fridge, wooden form suitable for keeping luggage off the floor, 2 chairs that could be moved to the small balcony if required, electric jug & daily water and coffee. The staff are friendly and helpful. Downstairs has a restaurant bar, pool tables , relaxing area & a 7.5M pool.
Very comfortable, easy to get around and value for money.

Definitely recommend a stay here at Faraway Suites. Staff were so helpful and always went above and beyond for us whenever needed. The location is perfect to explore Vang Vieng. We loved our time relaxing by the pool and the lovely lady at the reception was excellent help when organizing activities for the day (Kayaking/Blue Lagoon). 10/10

Mixed feelings. The hotel has a really good location and a great kitchen. The homemade sausage sandwich is a must. But contrarily to some reviews that we found the staff wasn’t that nice and we even paid more than the booking price. The mountain view is nice but somehow blocked by some nearby buildings. An advice: don’t book through their website. In this case it’s better to use a booking app. We booked directly with them and in the end paid more and didn’t get breakfast.

We arrived with a minibus from Luang Prabang and it stopped in front of the Rock Backpackers Hostel. From there the Faraway is less than 100meters away. Perfect! For no reason at all they turned on their radio in the morning to the max so we didn't need an alarm clock... bit annoying. Fortunately the breakfast is included.

The shower was broken and the TV, which was shown in photos of the room on the website, did not work either. There were holes in our door which meant most of the air conditioning escaped the room. Reception were not helpful at all when we asked about things like the TV or laundry. Do not stay here unless you want to experience a hotel from hell.

100% recommended if you come to Vang Vieng!

The location of the hotel is perfect, you have the night market, morning market and bus station really close walking. You also have the train station at 40 min walking

We stayed in the atic apartment and was amazing. Huge beautiful apartment with amazing balcony and views of Vang Vieng mountains.
You can see the sunset and air balloons from the bed

The facilities are also really good! You have a really nice bar where the food is delicious ( also the breakfast ), swimming pool and the staff is so kind and helpful

A must in Vang Vieng 💯
