Solio Lodge is located in a 19,000 acre preserve for rhino repopulation. We had a magical time at Solio. Our room was very well done, with a huge shower, double lavatory, fireplace. We would return each night from dinner to a great fire in our fireplace (yes, on the Equator in August, it was cold at night, believe me). Agnes... More

This lodge is an absolute gem. The accommodation is magnificent and the room layouts are perfect. The food we had here was probably the best we experienced this whole trip and that is really saying something as I thought all the food we had throughout Africa was amazing. The outdoor area for lunch is a treat and at night dining... More

ava was another great host, and she did all she could to make our stay great. this private reserve was neat and we saw so many rhinos. we even had a sundowner with 6 or 7 rhinos not far away where we sat. john was our guide and he's equally great. had fun riding two horses with sammy from the... My husband and I recently returned from a three week trip to Africa where we had the pleasure of staying at Solio. While at Solio I celebrated my 50th birthday and everyone at Solio made me feel special. They started off by giving me a surprise bush breakfast complete with champagne, then a complimentary massage by Purity which was sublime.... More

The Solio Lodge offers an unbelievable bush experience in luxurious accommodations inside the Solio Ranch preserve. Manager Ava Paton and her most capable “right arm”, Agnes, provide much more than 5-star product out in the middle of the bush in a caring and generous way. Designed by an award winning architect, the lodge and the detached bedroom suites offer a... More

This was my second trip to Solio, and this was even better than the first! Ava, the Manager, is truely an amazing woman. Someone should write a book about her. I saw more wildlife here than any other lodge I stayed in in Kenya or South Africa. Since the Lodge is on a private reserve, you basically have the whole... More

Four decades of Kenya travel in the bush, and this is one of my favorite trips ever. Where else could I be literally surrounded by healthy white rhino of every age? It literally gives one hope! One afternoon with Orly is right up there with bungee jumping over Vic Falls, that's how special it was. Great vehicles, superb guides, often... More

Wow, this property and it's staff was unbelievable! We were picked up from one of the gates in the morning and are extremely grateful we didn't have to wait until later in the day to check in, as this allowed maximum game-viewing time during our short one-night stay. From the moment we were picked up by our guide John, we... More

We couldn't have asked for more as our first ever Safari experience, from the moment we were collected from the airstrip the experience here was nothing less than incredible. The accommodation is incredibly luxe, and the very small number of guests make for truly personalized luxury. Our guide Ole and spotter Blackie were fantastic and we had so much fun... More

Loved every second of our two night stay at Solio. The staff paid attention to detail and catered to our every need uniquely. We were the only guests at the time which worked to our advantage. You have a hostess assigned to you and she is there to ensure you are comfortable. My daughter asked for cake and since they... More
