The cottages are beautiful, clean and nicely decorated. The service is great, friendly and very attentive. Very tasty food and a beautiful view of Mount Kenya (when the clouds lift). Very conveniently situated if you are on the way through, as is is near the main road, with very spacious parking. Highly recommended!
The staff and management are extremely helpful, hospitable and accommodating. The rooms are spacious, well designed, and elegant, with all the amenities of a modern establishment. An extra blanket was provided for the cold. The grounds are manicured and the restaurant is tastefully done. The service was fast and the breakfast was tasty and filling. It’s an ideal location for an overnight stay or a quiet vacation. The restaurant was closed at the time as the hotel had just reopened.
We loved is place - comfortable rooms and elegant public areas , delicious food and a lovely fire in the lounge in the evening. Clearly a local watering hole , it retains plenty of old style charm and yet offers up to date facilities and service, The view of mount Kenya, especially in the morning, is stunning Simon the front desk manager went above and beyond to help us and drove us personally to the Mount Kenya Trust office and then waited to make sure we were in the right place. We would love to return.
Stayed here for two nights. Pros: Excellent service, very attentive manager and staff; nice clean rooms all with a patio and a great view of Mt. Kenya; amazing breakfast (We did not have any other meals here so can’t speak to that); comfortable common lounge area with a bar and a fire place; close to the main road yet quiet. Cons: Bring your own lotion and shampoo as none are provided in the rooms; hair driers not provided; double rooms have twin beds instead of queen beds. Overall, the cons were not deal breakers. I recommend it.
We walked in for breakfast - quite sumptuous - cereals with milk, choice of fruits, fresh juice, yoghurt and quite a good selection from the hot kitchen - bacon, eggs of choice, sausage, tomato with toast - the bread was fresh and crunchy and the pièce de resistance was their home made jam. The ambience is great with a well loved homely feel. Staff was also very friendly and accommodating... we got some nice masala tea despite the fact that it is not on their menu. Would definitely love to go back for a meal and with more time to enjoy the ambience.
