We cannot say enough good things about our stay at the Desert Pearl. We stayed in the River's Edge Suite and it was INCREDIBLE. We did not want to leave! The view was amazing, the back porch was so private and relaxing, the kitchen had everything we needed, the bed was very comfortable, everything was so very clean and we had 2 gorgeous bathrooms. We used the pool and hot tub and both were lovely. We did not have much interaction with the staff, but everyone was very nice. We rented ebikes next door - it could not have been easier and we got a 20% discount for staying at the Desert Pearl. Loved, loved, loved it!

Booked this hotel due to the 5 star reviews. During covid you can never be too careful with location and cleanliness. We decided to stay here for 3 nights during our road trip to UTAH during Thanksgiving week. There's a Springdale shuttle bus in front of the hotel which we didn't take because if you get to the park by 8:45am you should be able to secure a parking spot.
We reserved Zion shuttle tickets for the 9-10am slot so we got to the park early each day to browse the gift shop and have the kids finish their junior ranger book. *we were also able to board the shuttle prior to our reserved time slot as early as 8:30. Check in was a breeze. We had a nice quiet corner 2nd floor room with partial view of the pool. The insulation at the hotel is great! We can't hear our next door neighbors at all! The room has 2 queen size beds, large bathroom with separately shower/tub combo, toilet and bidet. Room is large with kitchenette (microwave, small dishwasher, toaster oven, sink, large frig, and safe.) There's also a coffee maker and tons of utensils. Hotel is a few minute drive to the park with plenty of restaurants near by. My suggestion would be to buy food to reheat in your room. most restaurants were so packed during Thanksgiving the wait would have been 1 hour! We grabbed lunch at Cafe Soleil (typical take out food - sandwiches, wraps, pizzas), Bit & Spur (decent more upscale texmex food - now offering 50% off their winter menu) and Blondies diner (fast food, not the best). Love the mountain backdrop view from the hotel. Each night we saw a family of deer eating grass outside our room. The room is very clean with comfy beds, pillows and warm blankets. would definitely stay here again!

After reading all the reviews, we had to check out this place. Absolutely glad we did! We had 2 rooms for a family of 5, one with king, one with 2 doubles/queens; both facing the river (be careful about the current warning on the Virgin River). No daily cleaning service due to covid but not necessary. The rooms are huge with vaulted ceilings. Large fridge, microwave, sink, utensils. Pool was open and was lovely. The view is quite spectacular but pretty much most hotels in Springdale (very small town and one main street with lots of cute shops and restaurants) have this view...an extension of Zion park. We had reserved shuttle tickets for July 2 at 1pm to the Narrows. After lunch, didn't want the hassle with parking at the Visitor's Center where you catch the shuttle so we walked; 20min walk to Visitor's Center. Easy, slightly flat incline (but downhill on the way home!) My college aged kids went running in the mornings and got coffee "in town." We loved Springdale and staying outside the park offered many options. Zion Lodge is way inside the park and if you like that, you'll be paying a lot for location inside the park for very basic accommodations and no other option for food unless you drive out to Springdale. We saw it while we were there.
Not sure how it is currently but when we went, it was very uncrowded...but we did leave before July 4 weekend. You will not regret staying here!

The Desert Pearl is a well situated hotel to visit Zion National Park. Our family stayed there for 3 nights. We got a riverside room which I think is worth it if you stay there because you have very close access to the calm Virgin River which you can take a dip in or tube on. However, they should warn guests ahead of time about the river—not because the river is deep or dangerous near the property, but because an oblivious kid on a floaty can very quickly float down the river off the property before she realizes it. Our daughter in her excitement just took off and was long gone in a hot second. Needless to say, it was a little distressing tracking her down. The hotel no longer does daily housekeeping due to Covid—which in and of itself is understandable—but they dropped the ball on our designated housekeeping appointment and then were defensive about it which was unpleasant.

Room itself was okay—it’s 3 star quality. AC and mini fridge worked decently. The bed linens weren’t the most comfortable and our bed headboard was made of a compressible piece that made a sound like a flappy piece of sheet metal. Colorful rock soap bars were a nice touch. Probably would not repeat here, but Zion itself was amazing. As of June 2020, park shuttles still not running so we hired an outfitter to drive us into the park and pick us up for Narrows hike.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We will take to heart your suggestion to caution families about tubing and river flow, however, we mostly expect that information to be conveyed by the businesses that rent the tubes. As for the housekeeping issue, there is no excuse for a missed appointment or defensive attitude and we sincerely apologize for this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future to make things right and thank you for your patronage.

Stayed here for 4 nights in early November 2021. You really can't beat the location in the heart of Springdale, Utah, and only about 1/2 mile from the entrance to Zion National Park. Hotel is well maintained, lots of amenities, very comfortable beds and in an ideal location. I would definitely recommend requesting a room with the river view. Nice to have a ground floor room where you can just walk out your patio door and down to the river. However, 2nd floor rooms probably better if you don't want to hear people walking around above you. Rooms come with mini-kitchen including coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, large toaster/convection oven, and even a dishwasher. Pretty fully stocked with dishes, cups, mugs, utensils, a few knives, cutting board, etc. Bought cereal, bread, cheese and fruits at local store and made low cost breakfast every morning in the room. So convenient. Oh, and there are laundry facilities on the property.

Rooms are very quiet with no street noice (if you are by the river). Staff friendly and helpful. Utah Ebike adventures is located at the hotel for convenient ebike rentals.

The only downside is the cost. was over $300/night for a king bed riverside room in early November. A bit steep for that time of year but for us it was worth it!

COVID safety is a high priority here. The front desk is contactless, and the room had tape on the door indicating it was sanitized. They have a list of their protocols and the list is long. We had a river’s edge suite and it was big and wonderfully laid out. The room had good seating and lighting and enough outlets. The kitchen in the room is well stocked. The bed was good, as were the sheets and towels. The bathroom has a soaking tub and walk-in shower. Amenities are of quality. There is a tv in the living room and bedroom. The suite enjoys a large deck with good seating and an excellent view of the river and mountains. I can’t speak much about the service since we didn’t engage, but they were terrific last time I stayed fifteen or so years ago, so I suspect they are that way now. This is an excellent property in the middle of town with lots of dining options, and a mere quarter mile to the park. Recommended.

It came down to Desert Pearl Inn or the Cliffrose Springdale for our hotel choice, and we went with Desert Pearl. Maybe we'll give Cliffrose a try next time, but we were definitely happy with Desert Pearl. We spent 3 nights in the River's Edge Suite. It was very spacious and open. The separate bedroom was very comfortable and its bathroom was huge (jetted tub, walk in shower, two vanity sinks, etc). The full kitchen provided everything we needed, including a full size refrigerator, cooktop, dishwasher and a microwave. . It also had a separate spacious bathroom right next to the entrance with a walk in shower, vanity and a toilet, which was very useful. The balcony overlooking the river was also big and great to relax in. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking. It's within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops.

We stayed in room 602 (2nd floor), which was an end unit. It had more privacy. The walls seemed to have good soundproofing. (Just make sure you shut the door firmly and verify it's closed. It tended to stick or not close completely unless pressure was applied.) No elevators so you'll have to carry your luggage up. All the River's Edge Suites are in the same building toward the back of the lot (away from the swimming pool area).

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it.

The property itself exceeded my expectations. We booked deluxe riverside and yes, there was an unobstructed view of the Virgin River. Our room had a huge bathroom that included a bidet. I can't remember the last US hotel that had a bidet! The room is more like a studio and included a kitchen area with a large counter, fridge, keurig, glasses, dishes and cutlery.

The most impressive part of our stay was the customer service. We were booked for a 2-night stay and had Zion shuttle tickets for Tuesday, 9/8/2020 at 12:00 PM. At 2:30 AM I woke up with excruciating shoulder pain that kept me up for the remainder of the morning. I knew an hour into it that we would have to cut our trip short. I called the front desk to let them know we would be leaving early. Angie said she would talk to the manager about a refund for the second night and within two hours I received a cancellation confirmation with a zero balance. When we reschedule our Zion trip we will definitely rebook here!

The Desert Pearl was wonderful; if you want easy access to the park but want creature comforts (comfortable bed, clean accommodation, well stocked kitchenette for prepping lunches, lovely pool and hot tub for post-hikes), this is the perfect place to stay. Will 100% stay here again when we return to Zion. Perfect location for walking to dinner in Springdale and 5 min drive from park entrance. And amazing views!

My spouse and I could not travel home this year for Christmas, so we decided to escape and drive up to Zion and have had our eye on the Desert Pearl Inn for a few years now to book a stay. We loved our stay so much my husband officially named our trip Christmas Retreat 2020. We had a room that faced the river and it was perfect! Between the afternoon sun on our balcony (allowing us to sit outside for several hours even in the cooler temperatures), along with the sound of the river as our background music, we truly felt like we escaped and unplugged. The amenities in the room suited us for our three night stay, the refrigerator held our food and holiday spirits. The toaster oven and other kitchen supplies were just enough for our stay. We appreciated having a table to eat at and a couch to sit on, so you are not restricted to always sitting in the bed while you read, watch TV, etc.. Also, the entire place felt safe from a COVID standpoint, they are taking great precaution. In addition, the location is perfect to park your car and leave it parked - can walk to all of local and delicious restaurants (I recommend Meme's Cafe - the cuban sandwich was epic), art galleries, etc. All is all, I would easily return to the Desert Pearl Inn as my go to accommodation while visiting Zion.

We went in NOv as things were really peaking. Lots of places were open and doing outside dining. We ate at Meme’s a few times for breakfast, had dinner once at oscars (did take out). Ate at Zion canyon brewery too. Skip the Chinese spot... but lots of other good choices. Would also avoid the steakhouse, was expensive and did indoor dining and sat us at regular table distance in normal times.
