My group of 6 and I were pleasantly surprised driving into loop C. Our campsite was 52 and right by the river. The river is very loud during the night and is wonderful white noise. The campgrounds are very large and are generously spaced apart. This was very helpful as we had 3 two-person tents, 2 hammocks, and a table... More

Wawona is the first campground reaching yosemite from Frenso. If you look for a quiet place to stay...without all the crowd and nice hike-ways...it's the right place...the camping is big...but no refill-water and the restrooms are solala....take a lot of water with you! and...it's very cold in the night...so even if you travel in summer time...you need warm night-cloths ....... This was our 5th consecutive summer camping trip to Yosemite but our first at Wawona. The truth was this is the spot we got when reserved, it wasn't the spot I wanted. That said... it turned out great! If possible, I'd recommend staying in the loops as far back in the campground as you can go and as close to... More

The younger members of our family group that visited Yosemite for a week stayed at Wawona. A popular choice with campers that own tents and or R.V's. The provided fire pits are well thought out and extremely handy for cooking or that essential ambiance for evening gatherings / storytelling /singsongs. The river adds a very picturesque touch and is your... More

We lucked up with a great spot, #62, which was spacious, level for our 11-person tent, right on the river, and very friendly neighbors that we enjoyed talking to and trading hiking tips and stories with. You can't choose your neighbors, and, as in most reservable campgrounds in Yosemite, you can't usually choose your spot. However, the patrons here were... More

We stayed here for a week in June 2016 in the 'C' loop. The 'A' loop looked awful - bathrooms were out of order (replaced with port-a-potties) and I would imagine you could hear the road from all sites. B loop looked nice. I wish we had been on the outside of 'C' loop, either on the river or the... More

Great campground for your stay in Yosemite. I would recommend the B or C sites as they are more wooded than the A sites. Much more peaceful and more nature than valley sites. Book early this is all reserved and fills up. Wawona store about 1 mile down the road is all stocked and has everything you need. If you... More

I was there for 2 nights on May, 2016. Really liked the location. The glacier point is about 1.5 hours drive from here. But I couldn't go to the Tuolumne meadow as the Tioga road was closed. The campsite could just add hot water. The water from the tap was icy cold. Other than that, I was satisfied with it.

We spent one night at busy Upper Pines campground and three nights at Wawona. At first I did not like the 40 minutes drive to the park and back but that changed once we checked in. Our spot was roomy, right by the river, spacious and private. We had great time and enjoyed every minute. Definitely recommend over camping in... More

4 nights (Monday-Thursday,mid May experience) Loop B, site 43...We lucked out with this particular camping spot! Loop A & C can have a lot of super close, noisy neighbors and seem almost like group camping. We were told many campers stay only 1 night. Our closest neighbors changed 4 times in our 4 nights. One nice thing was droves of... More
