We camped here 3 nights. We were lucky enough to get site 002, which is set back from the rest of the grounds. Had a good amount of privacy and lots of wood to harvest for our fires. Loved the quiet and remoteness compared to the valley. The key to this campground is getting a great site.

Not a pleasant experience. Very regular campers, but the pitch we were allocated was too small for the group. It was on a slope with a dumpster nearby. Ok so we are in Yosemite....just, but the facilities were dirty, and limited. As we moved around Yosemite we became aware that this is not unique for the park. The scenery is... More

This campground was great. We stayed there 3 days, it was very clean (the most clean in yosemite.) The location is great if you want to see more of yosemite than just the valley (you should...) it's a 45 minutes drive to the valley, 45 minutes to hetch hetchy and 1hour to tolumn meadow. The campground is quiet and the... More

Was surprised at the layout of this campground, it is one of the worst I have seen. The campground is built on a hill so most of the sites are on moderate to steep grades. Many of the pull-in sites are very steep and very close together. Even the very pleasant host I met admitted it was hard telling what... More

A 32" RV backed in to #36 means you're sloping like boat in a storm. But we didn't care a jot. We loved it. 3 days here was outdoor paradise. With the valley less than an hour away this place is an ideal overflow if you can't get in to the cramped valley camp-grounds. The water is cold, the toilets... More

My friends and I recently stayed at Hodgdon in yosemite for a few nights and we were very pleased! Our favorite was the bathrooms and running water. The water was also drinkable, which was awesome and much needed due to weather. The campsite was very family friendly and there were never any disturbances while we were there. They did have... We visited this campground in August for 3 nights (tent camping) - Campground was very noisy at night (we were on site 80 which is in the middle - it is preferable to go on sites near site 1 or 2 which are more isolated and close to the river) - The location is quite remote from Yosemite Valley (about... I've been to Yosemite several times before, so I have definitely experienced staying in the Valley. Although the view is much better over there, sites are tiny. Hodgdon Meadows is a great place for groups and it is pleasantly different! We had plenty of space to spread out and met a few friendly neighbors. The meadow is a short walk... More

We had a "walk-in" campsite which wasn't too far from the car. However, it was down a hill. Given they were very clear about not leaving coolers or any food in the car, it took some effort to haul everything down the hill to store in the bear box. Do pay attention when they tell you squirrels will get in... More

We did camping on the 4th of July and were pleasantly surprised how peaceful it was compared to other camping sites. It's a little far from the valley and visitor's center, but so worth it! We were lucky to book a spot that was a away from everybody so we can rest after all the hiking trips. The spot comes... More
