Crane Flat needs maintenance. Entrance bulletin board is falling apart, and looks like it has been for some time. Yosemite is supposed to be a "crown jewel" of our National Parks. It is being loved to death. Secondly, the rules and regulations specifically state that gathering firewood is prohibited. Yet, people were walking around with armloads of twigs and branches... More

This would not have been our first choice of campground, but it was the only campground that had availability for reservations in mid-September (making them early July). And, there were only 4 sites left at that time. So, we took what we could get. We arrived late to find our name/site on a whiteboard with no instructions on how to... More

Stayed for 4 nights with our family. We had 3 sites all on a huge slant, nothing was level, the bathrooms were disgusting and the bear boxes too small. No lights, soap or trash in the bathrooms and they were filthy. I've never been to a dirtier campground. No were to wash dishes either. The rangers were rude to our... More

This campground was great and we were lucky enough to have a fairly flat site, #528. Most sites here are on a slope which may make it more difficult to get to and have your tent even. Our site was great. The campground host was awesome, though they will drive by and cite you if you leave any scented items... More

Yosemite can get quite crowded during the summer months, and if you've been like I have, then you know the valley floor is super packed. This weekend was the worse I've seen it. We sat in traffic for an hour, and didn't even make it to the northern most section, rangers had us turn around and head towards the Yosemite... More

We stayed here for two nights. We didn't know however that we had to go shower in another campground (were you should pay 5$ for a shower... if you just walk through without saying anything, they don't charge you). Anyways, it was a good campground, 45 minutes drive from the Valley.

Campsite Host will harass you beware!! KEEP YOUR TENTS CLOSED ,CAR LOCKED, BEAR BOX CLOSED AT ALL TIMES AND NOTHING IN THE CAMPSITE. It is very difficult to get a reservation, the cost of a campsite $$$$$ and getting into to park was very pricey too, ton of bugs, the hilly campsites were terrible and TOO MANY PEOPLE at the... Dad wanted to go on a last minute trip to Yosemite and I knew we'd probably be SOL for a nearby campsite. Lo and behold there was a spot open here (or well quite many), and I gleefully booked it although I was a bit wary of the lack of showers and the distance from the Valley. Arrival was fairly... We stayed t campsite 505 I believe. It was on a small slant, but not early as bad as some of the other campsites. Where we stayed it was nice and quite and the only bear we saw in the park was near our campsite, so that was pretty cool. I don't know if they do this in all campsites... More

We were lucky to get in to Crane Flat. The Tioga Pass only just opened, there was still plenty of snow and ice around. The helpful ranger at the station, one to two miles in from the eastern side, mentioned Crane Flat was open. While the sign said full at the campground when we got there ( Memorial Day weekend!),...
