Staying at the Ahwahnee/Majestic Yosemite Hotel is definitely a "bucket list" item. It is easily the most luxurious place to stay in Yosemite Valley, and must be experienced at least once in one's lifetime. Our change in travel plans gave us an opportunity to visit Yosemite, something we had not done for over 10 years. Previously, we camped in Upper... More

This grand old hotel is as welcoming as ever . . . comfortable accommodations, friendly competent staff and superb location. Worth the price! Still can't get over the new name . . . it will always be The Ahwahnee to us! Request a superior room for even more enjoyment.

My wife & I stayed here in a Classic King Room for 2 nights in June this year whilst touring Northern California. Our initial impressions of the Majestic were good – despite some TripAdvisor comments about long lines at check-in, we found it efficient, friendly, helpful and courteous. Similarly, we had no problems with wifi during our stay. The public... More

I don't mind paying over $400 per night per room (my family booked 4 rooms total) but at that price I kinda expect hot water after a long hot hike. NOPE! Couple that with only one dining option that turned out to be crazy expensive for mediocre luke warm food. Service in the dining room was excruciatingly slow(3 hours for... More

We just got home a few days ago from a great trip to Yosemite. We had our first two nights in a Featured Hotel King and then three nights in a Classic Cottage (@ King bed). Both rooms were nice but we liked the cottage better. We valet parked when we first arrived because we didn't really know better -... More

The building is impressive surrounded by wonderful gardens. You may have a bear outside while you wait for your table. The prices are more than fair: 12/ salads; 15 burger; 20 for a trout. After some vood walks is quiet and unbeatable! Restrooms available on the second floor. Stop 3 of the green line bus. Enjoy!

Great service - starts with hotel check in. Attentive group and listen. Helped with planning the day's activities. Remembered the small things for room service. Main restaurant and fun experience and had a great waiter. Although, not sure I would make dinner reservations for every evening. Pool was a nice refresher and wonderful views. Everyone you bumped into from the... More

Yosemite is the home of my heart; I have been going there since the fall of 1971. This is fine. But due to a sequence of serendipitous events, my last 4 stays have been at the Ahwahnee (I refuse to use the "M" word) rather than the Lodge and more and more I find myself developing Ahwahnee tastes on a... staying here was a bucket list item and it was totally worth it. The hotel is beautiful and the lobby and common rooms are amazing to look at and a great place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. The outdoor seating area has drink service and great views. Our room had a view of Yosemite Falls and it was a... More

Im used to staying at expensive hotels but this place was worse than the Super 8. The elevator didnt work and I stayed on the 6th floor so I walked up and down those stairs for 2 days with a double stroller. The food is awful an below what I would expect from a gas station cafeteria. For the rate... More
