We reserved the Presidential Suite for a single weeknight and though it was expensive, it was truly memorable. The view from the private veranda and the main living area was superb and having a fireplace well stocked with firewood was a treat. We enjoyed the evening meal in the hotel's dining room and then had breakfast in our room the...

Magnificent hotel built in 1927 at a cost of $1.5M ($21M today). They don't make em like this anymore. More importantly, the staff is what you would expect from a world class five star hotel. I thought they would be typical NPS employees or wall rats (they are all wall rats, climbers working a minimum wage job to support their...

Yes, it's expensive.... Yes, it's tough to get reservations..... Yes, it can be crowded with day visitors..... And yes, we noted some guests with unreasonable expectations.... But, after a 3-day stay there in late April, I would urge you to just do it and go. The history, ambiance and graciousness were worth it. From the huge, comfortable lobby to the...

From the moment we checked in, we were pampered and well taken care of. The staff and the service are impeccable, which makes the price seem ok. I loved the history of the building, the charm of the room, and all of the little extras that you get as a guest. You have to expect an older, historic hotel to...

On our three day visit to Yosemite State Park, we ask about having the Saturday buffet breakfast and was told " we could come and maybe worked in since we did not have reservations." So, we headed that way Saturday morning and was seated immediately!!! What a beautiful place. Formally known as The Ahwahnee, the name has been changed. Google...

The hotel is now called the Majestic Hotel, because the previous concession operator of the Ahwahnee Hotel trademarked the name and wants millions of dollars from the new concessionaire for the name, a situation that locals dislike immensely. It is still a beautiful building that opened in 1927. It is high end, but in a busy crowded park affords visitors...

The Majestic is a grand, old lodge. Originally built in 1927, this lodge is not for those who have to ask how much, This is very, very pricey and nothing is included. But if you are lucky enough to get a view facing Yosemite Falls, you will hit the jackpot. Just walking into the reception lobby is already a treat....

There is nothing to compare with awakening into this spectacular park. We are however talking about the hotel. When they built this they clearly respected the backdrop of nature it is located in. Knock out fantastic, take the time to see the lodge. Humans however get distracted. We stayed in the cabin. I can not put into words what a...

Glorious, historic structure filled with stunning reading rooms, parlors, an enormous sitting room with over-stuffed chairs and 2 grand fireplaces, an awesome dining room, cocktails on the patio, and unmatched views of one of the most beautiful places on earth. Yes, it is expensive. A standard room in the main hotel costs apx $500/night. And that is why, for apx...
