We stayed in one of the rooms with the view of a lake for 2 nights in June. It was during the peak season and there wasn’t many options available. I paid 500+USD per night, but the room and the service were disappointing. The hotel is right next to the lake, but the lake view from the room was not impressive. The room was small, dark and dirty. The pillows were uncomfortable. House keeping was bad. We didn’t eat in the dinning room because we couldn’t reserve dinner at the preferable time. The food at the cafe was boring. Piano was played in the lounge, which was too crowded to be enjoyable. Good points: (1) beautiful heritage building, (2) the hotel is next to the beautiful lake (3) the elks visited the hotel ground in early morning. I could see that the hotel has potentials, but renovation is needed and the service should be improved.

We stayed the first weekend in October which seems like it was pretty much the end of the season. Our room was cozy despite it being chilly outside - the heating in this building is old and makes a lot of noise as it comes on and off. It woke us up many times our first night, so we just turned it off on the following nights and slept fine. The bathroom was attractive, but you had to wedge yourself in to open and close the door. Toiletries provided were better than average. Although we LOVED our stay in Yellowstone, there were very few dining options due to it being the end of the season. We pretty much had to dine at our hotel and they kept the restaurant half empty while making us wait over an hour to be seated - clearly poor management and it seems consistent from reading other reviews as well.

Two couples stayed in the cabins at Lake Yellowstone. Very basic rooms, but clean. Prices were pretty high, but everything in Yellowstone is high for the average visitor. Lodge and cabins were getting ready to close in two days, so amenities were scarce. For example, in-room coffee service offered only decaf coffee, no sugar or creamer. One tea bag, no shampoo. But, everything considered, it was probably the best price inside the park. Going again, we would probably stay outside the west entrance and have a variety of hotels to choose from.

You pay more to stay in the cabins/hotels, but it was a must for us. Stayed in cabin instead of hotel because cabins are pet friendly. Very comfortable and clean - cute little bear soaps! Elk and Bison within yards of our place. Love the great food at the hotel, make reservations ahead of time. Enjoy a game of cards or cocktail before dinner with a gorgeous view.

The hotel is beautiful. The room we had was well appointed. The bathroom, while on the smaller side, was very functional. Plenty of shower space. I was disappointed that the windows didn't open a little more to allow air circulation. We arrived 2 hours after check-in, only to be told that one room wasn't ready. Housekeeping was running behind due to the hotel being shut down for the season in a few days. They did accomodate us with dinner to make up for the delay. It take quite a long time to check in, so patience is required. There is an internet connection in the room, but it doesn't work well, so don't count on any internet. Also, no cell phone service at all, except for Verizon. We did see some elk on the property and heard there was a bear. The sunrise over Lake Yellowstone was pretty and had numerous admirers.
