This campground was everything we wanted: quiet, nice bathrooms, and good campsites. The bathrooms were clean and there are rooms with stainless steel countertops where you can do your camp dishes and dispose of the waste all at once (much easier than doing them at the campsite and hauling the grey water to the sink).

This campground is deep inside the park and it has plenty of shade because is surrounded by lots of trees. We came here with three two family. Reservations were easy.Although we are not allowed to preselect the campsite (because they are assigned upon arrival at check in), we were pleased with the sites. We ended up on track D. Do come prepared... More

Reserve early and get a tent-only loop if you can. We did and it was a great experience. The loops are clean and quiet. We had convenient access to water and REAL restrooms. We loved that the site included daily showers in the rate. Convenient to Canyon Village, the ranger talks, dining rooms, and of course The Falls themselves. We... More

I was nervous about the number of visitors cramped into YNP during the summer months and was afraid our family of six would be wedged into our campsite up against other campers. Not the case at all. Our campsite was spacious and wooded, with plenty of room for the kids to run and explore safely. We were right next to... More

Thoroughly impressed with the operation they're running here. We chose Canyon Campground over others because of it's proximity to park highlights and services. Even though there are 200+ sites, you never feel crowded. Also, the bathrooms were well serviced/maintained as were the showers and laundry.

We tent-camped in three different campgrounds in Yellowstone: Canyon, Madison, and Bay Bridge. Canyon was our favorite. We had a nice, wooded tent site, the hosts were informative & visible, and the bathrooms were clean... all important to a fun night under the stars! Advice: book far in advance. This isn't a FCFS campground; you must have reservations.

We went to Yellowstone in the middle of the summer, so we expected large crowds. We stayed three nights in the Canyon Campground, and we were thrilled with the size of our site. The campground was full, but we still felt like we had our privacy. This campground was a great central location to come back to every day. Each... More

This was a great campground to stay at. The sites were a nice size and surrounded with trees. The near by bathrooms were nice. The showers were also nice. You get two showers per campsite. If you would like to be close to Canyon Falls this is a great place to stay.

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights, May 30th-June 1st. We reserved a few months ago and all the tent sites were booked so we were in a Tent/RV site, #122 in Loop F (which was a nice interior site), tucked among the pine trees and just a few sites down from the bathrooms. The site was a... More

Stayed 5 nights in June in a tent, Loop A. It was a tent/van/trailer loop. Sites were nice, nestled among pine trees, with fire pits and picnic tables. Neighbors were laid back and friendly. Mosquitoes were thick. Bathrooms were very clean. Camping fee included showers for every day of the stay. And not the freezing cold showers on a five... More
