We stayed in frontier cabin #87 and then #78. These cabins have a private bathroom inside. The cabins are very simple and small. The beds were a bit saggy. But they serve their purpose. The walk to the lodge is very short and the setting is very nice, compared to other cabins we stayed in (Old Faithful Snow Lodge and... More

We loved our night in the Roosevelt Lodge Cabins. Vintage original decor. Walk up to lodge for drinks and dinner. Shared bath facilities were good. Nice they were heated. Overall great experience which added to our Yellowstone experience. Hint keep checking your dates wanted daily as cancellations appear. Use Xanterras direct booking site for immediate verified bookings.

Half hour wait with five empty tables, didn't get a refill on pop until he brought us our bill! Poor service, poor food! Hostess seemed a bit annoyed with customers who were cranky with the long wait! I saw her rolling her eyes at one point! However in her defense the guy ahead of me was very rude!

My wife and I wanted to view and get photos of the wolves. After three visits to Yellowstone without success, we decided to rough it in a cabin at Roosevelt Lodge because it was closer to Lamar Valley where wolves are most commonly seen. We made the right decision and enjoyed viewing many wolves including playful and hilarious pups. We... More

We stayed here two nights, and were overall pleased that we did. The roughrider cabins are tiny, and while our room was tidy, our door had cracks large enough to see daylight through - and even in August it was freezing at night. We had planned ahead and brought extra sleeping bags (my son has asthma, so the wood stove... More

The cabins and restaurant facilities were kept very clean. It is a bit primitive. If you are not accustomed to camping, you might want to stay in a facility with indoor plumbing. LOL. However, if accustomed to roughing it, it is a great place to stay with plenty of wildlife.

We're not into camping so were wary of the cabins being a bit too rustic for our taste, as they don't have running water (at least that's true for about half of them). However, it was all part of the charm. We really liked the cost feel of our cabin. Meanwhile, the lodge offers excellent food and a warm log... More

The Roosevelt was our base for visiting the northern part of Yellowstone and provided easy access to the likes of Mammoth, Norris and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Roosevelt is by far the most rural of the main tourist centres of Yellowstone and accommodation consists only of cabins. Our cabin was of the Roughrider type, with no private washing... More

We stayed in a 3 double bed no bath cabin. 3 clean bath houses a short walk away - one set of showers did occasionally have a wait but the others didn't. They provide linens (sheets, blankets, towels) and make the beds daily. Plenty of room for our family of 5, including room for one of my kids to sleep... More

Stayed 3 nights in a triple bed cabin with nearby washroom. It was more roomy than expected, beds were comfortable. You can drive right up to the cabin. The women's restroom had 4 stalls and 4 showers, never had to wait. The showers have shampoo, liquid soap, and conditioner plus the cabins have plenty of towels and washcloths. Was glad... More
