We stayed at The Gould for three nights during a February wine tasting trip. The hotel has a bar and restaurant. We had their Friday fish fry at the restaurant and it was delicious. The front desk was very helpful with any request we made. The rooms were comfortable and nicely appointed. The hotel is also pet friendly, which is a big plus for us.
The hotel is located right on the main street in town. All major attractions, shopping and dining are in walking distance. It is an historic property so expect normal wear and tear on the facility but it was very clean and comfortable. Our room was modern and very stylish. The bathroom was great with very nice quality soaps and amenities. The restaurant was very good. Loved the food, the service and the drinks.
We love this place! When we checked in we left our luggage and went out to eat. When we returned 2 hours later the room was still 62 degrees! We called the desk, the lady working came right up, and immediately moved us to a room with heat! Great customer service, location, and room.
We stayed here for 2 nights to enjoy the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail Holiday Shopping Spree. We were in Room 214-a large room with 2 Queen Beds. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we slept well each night. Unfortunately, the view was of the back parking lot, but that was OK. The room was super quiet all weekend. The bathroom was a little small, and the shower had 2/3 solid glass-no sliding door. That worked out just fine, and the shower had good pressure and was hot. Cleaning is by request, so we did have them make beds and change out towels. From check in our TV remote wouldn't work to change channels, although it would turn the TV on and off and adjust volume. We tried to call the front desk that night-and it just went to voice mail. The next AM we asked the front desk gentleman to have someone check it. Noone ever did-so thankfully the afternoon front desk attendant came up and replugged in cords to the TV and it worked just fine. Parking was free. The morning has a daily continental breakfast, which was plenty to get us up and going. The room had 2 bottles of water, and housekeeping replaced them when she cleaned. The room was very clean!…
The Gould is a nice hotel in a good location on the Main Street of Seneca Falls. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Free parking behind the hotel. We booked a king deluxe and asked for a quiet location which they honored. The room is spotless. It doesn’t look like the online photo - the quilt on the bed has no duvet cover and there are no decorative linens. Also, the room is rather small. No chair other than at desk. The floor lamp is broken but works. Learned that the only difference between King and King deluxe rooms is that the latter has microwave and refrigerator which we don’t need. I asked if there were larger rooms and was told they are all the same. The air conditioning does not seem to be working but we can open a window. So - we are a little disappointed but for one night it is definitely ok.…
It's a fine line between fancy and dated. The room (king bed) is simple yet unique. Not a spacious room, but everything satisfied our needs. The shower is a (again unique) half clear door which is strange because water bounces off the body onto the bathroom floor. Free parking lot and WiFi. Restaurant/bar in hotel. Simple cold breakfast choices included with your stay. The staff we talked to the first night were absolutely great from check in to the bartender himself. Very convenient to walk almost anywhere downtown. We enjoyed our stay at the Gould.
The newly renovated Gould Hotel in Seneca Falls, New York, was a delight. The bed, comforter and pillow selections made for the most comfortable night of sleep on this road-trip where we stayed in other top flight hotels in Ithaca and Niagara on the Lake. At first the sofa at the end of the bed seemed an odd choice but it fit the room well. The bathroom was fully appointed and, in the room where we stayed, the walk-in shower was welcomed.
We stayed two nights at the Gould Hotel recently because we wanted a place in the center of Seneca Falls so that we could walk everywhere we wanted. We were very pleased with the welcome we received from Lisa on the front desk. She was great in explaining everything we needed to know. Our room was very spacious, clean and well furnished. The entrance, foyer and hallways could do with a little update, but this does not detract from the experience of staying in a lovely hotel in a great location. The breakfast is not great, but as it is included in the price of the room, we didn't expect much more than what we got. We ate in the evenings at Parker's and 84 Fall which we can fully recommend. There is loads of free parking available behind the hotel.
We have stayed at the Gould several times and will again soon! The hotel is always clean and comfortable! The staff is fantastic! Anthony, the manager, helped us with our reservation, Lisa warmly welcomed us and found me foam pillows since I’m allergic to down. At the bar you have Heidi the amazing mixologist and Faith our very friendly waitress!! Food was fantastic as well!!
I had a suite for 3, king bedroom and pull-out bed in the living room. At 10 pm I pulled out the bed. NO SHEETS, BLNKETS, PILLOWS anywhere in the room. Desk attendant brought them. I made the bed. Next, 10:30, we ran out of toilet paper. NO EXTRA ROLLS OF TOILET PAPER!! Clearly this room was not ready for us, and the desk clerk was tired and polite. I called the manager to report the problem. Left 3 message and received no call. If you visit, check your surroundings carefully before you settle in
