Beautifully renovated old hotel in Seneca Falls centrally located to our trip agenda.the hotel room was spacious and clean with a real bathroom. Most newer hotels bathrooms are too small. The only drawback was the person who checked us in was not at all hospitable.
We booked this hotel b/c it got great reviews. However, this is not the case. The guy at the front desk is SUPER lazy and rude. He’s half asleep. He doesn’t greet you with hello goodnight, good morning, nothing! We asked him to bring us extra towels and he practically threw them at us. Kept saying “you want them now, now”!The room is nice and clean. Very small. There’s no water provided, the toiletries are at bare minimum. Plastic wrapped up cups to drink from. The sheets are like sandpaper and the mattress is terrible. The air conditioner sounds like there’s a woodpecker inside of it. Overall I will never stay here again. Awful experience and will never recommend it to anyone.
The hotel and rooms are clean and nicely done. It is well maintained and looks to have been redone recently. Most of the staff were very nice and helpful. No room cleaning available during your stay. The ac works well the the location is great.
My wife and I stayed at the Gould on Saturday, July 31st. This hotel charges high-end prices but nothing about the stay was high-end. The wait staff were very indifferent and acted like they were put out every time you asked them anything. There was no carpeting in the room, the toiletry bottles were empty (shampoo/conditioner) and there was no paper directory on the phone so trying to make a call to tell someone we needed something was impossible. These are minor inconveniences but should not happen at a hotel that claims to offer great service and a great experience. I would not recommend that anyone stay at the Gould and would never consider a return visit. I was very disappointed in our stay.
My husband and I stayed the weekend. The hotel was nicely decorated as in the photos but I’m sad to say that our room could have used a deep cleaning. The upholstered headboard had a layer of dust as did the lamp shades. All the moldings in the bathroom also looked as if they had not been dusted in a long time. Also, the entrance of the building was very dingy and did not look inviting or welcoming. We almost thought that the hotel had closed! We were disappointed that the restaurant and bar were closed. There was not even any glass wear available to bring up to our rooms. I love the area and the vibe of the town. I hope that in the near future, this hotel gets the TLC it needs.
