We were welcomed with a beautiful big porch and stepped into a wonderful common room with a lovely fire burning. We had contactless check in, very smooth and plenty of information and how things worked and it all worked out beautifully. The breakfasts were all tasty and the staff was excellent! We had a grand time and we'll be back again very soon!!
We appreciated the cleanliness, spaciousness and privacy of the carriage house at the Green Gables Inn. The kitchenette offered a standard size refrigerator, toaster, microwave, coffeee and hot water pots, coffee, tea, sugar, creamer and biscotti, along with a small bar eating space. The bedroom was quite spacious and 2 bathrooms (1 shower) came in handy. We took advantage of the carriage house's private patio and the "knock and drop" breakfast policy, eating outside, surrounded by beautiful fall colored leaves. Games, use of old fashioned bicycles and the fresh baked cookies upon our arrival were nice touches. The location near Whitman College and within walking distance (15-20 minutes) of downtown was perfect for us. We found the breakfasts filling and interesting- fruit, fresh baked goods both days, and entrees of carmelized onion, mushroom and Gorgonzola frittata 1 day and crepes filled with a whipped peanut butter topped with spiced apples. Delish! We were very pleased with everything the Inn offered and would certainly stay again when in Walla Walla area. Only caution is that the pull out couch can fit 1 adult or perhaps 2 young children.…
My girlfriend and I recently spent a delightful weekend at the Violet Vale House, part of the Green Gables Inn. Our expectations for the weekend were low as we drove from Seattle in the worst smoke conditions I have ever seen from the West Coast fires. To our delight, the Green Gables was more than accommodating to all our needs. The house is enormously charming and the kitchen was extremely well-stocked with all the cooking instruments we needed. We spent the weekend wine tasting by day and cooking and enjoying the large, luxurious house by evening. I'd highly recommend this property to any one looking for a getaway with the family or multiple couples.
Green Gables Inn went beyond our expectations. The room was perfect, very comfortable and relaxing. The peace and quiet of the house was exactly what we needed. The staff was extremely attentive and professional which added to us being put at ease during our stay. The breakfasts were also very good and a great way to start the day. We both agreed we’d have to stay at the Green Gables again when in Walla Walla as it was a 10/10 vacation for us because of our stay at Green Gables!
Stayed for 3 nights in the Dryad Bubble Suite - very nice, comfy, lovely bathroom. Toured wineries, walks down the tree-lined streets, looked at lovely old homes and this city has lots of parks! The breakfasts on the porch each morning were so peaceful, watching the squirrels antics in the huge trees, while tasting wonderful, full breakfasts - delicious and nice presentation. Close to campus and perfect location if your student happens to be moving into dorm across street. Very quiet these days...the house had plenty of sanitizing if you are into that sort of thing.
