Everything was great! From the room, the bed, the home, the breakfast, and Patricia was a great hostess! You won’t go hungry! The Baer House is beautiful and clean and within walking distance to the historic downtown area. Patricia was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions on where and what to see and where to dine. Highly recommend!
Great Eastlake Victorian bed & breakfast circa 1873. 16 foot ceilings in just a spectacular home, great moldings, antiques, all authentic. Bedding very comfortable is classic king bed. Great breakfast next morning with great conversation with other guests. Enjoy!
We arrived early and were graciously accommodated by Patricia. The home is warm, inviting, and grand. We were surrounded by art and a festive atmosphere. Rooms were comfortable, and we took advantage of the common areas too, marveling at antiques and original woodwork while Patricia was happy to share stories about the home's history with us. Breakfasts were DELICIOUS. We highly recommend!
We stay overnight on our way back from the beach every year. Always a pleasant stay. We plan to come back in the Spring or Fall for a longer stay when it is cooler for a longer tour of the battleground.
When I stay in Vicksburg, The Baer House is by far my preferred destination. I have tried many alternatives in Vicksburg and Baer is my favorite. Very clean. Very courteous. Very comfortable. Extreme breakfast.
We stayed at the Baer House Inn Bed & Breakfast for three nights and couldn't have been more pleased. The owners were exceptional in making us feel welcome and offering ideas of where to visit. We were really impressed that that they remembered everyone's first names as if we were family! The room - includng the bathroom - was beautiful, spacious and exceptionally clean and we never needed for anything. Staying at the Inn made our trip everything we hoped for in Vicksburg. Thanks to the owners. We would definitely recommend this location!
I would stay at the Baer House again in a heartbeat. The place is one block the famous Old Courthouse Museum, and just two or three blocks from other great attractions and restaurants. The owners keep the Baer House immaculately clean, and provide a delightful breakfast in a beautiful dining room that's full of history. I stayed in the Scarlet Room. There was no traffic noise and the bed was super comfortable. I could control the AC in the room to my liking, and the bathroom was spotless. There's a billiards room on the main floor. Free parking is available for every guest, and the backyard even has a patio with a firepit. You'll need to be able to climb stairs, because the house is true to its original 1870 layout. The owner even give tours.
This is a grand old house and a delight to stay in. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Nice hosts and a great location. At the top of our B&B experiences. No hesitation recommending Baer House.
This is a lovely B&B built in 1870. We slept in the Scarlett Room which was perfect for us. Since this was the last stop of a 3-week road trip, we had several items to store in the room (like a plug-in cooler); and there was plenty of room for everything! Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately, I could never eat everything on my plate. There's a small refrigerator and ice maker in the dining room for guests to use. This was really handy for keeping some ice packs and drinks cold. In other reviews, I read some complaints about the set time for breakfast (8:30 AM). I didn't find this to be an issue since most people want to get out early to explore the area. We met some interesting folks and held lively conversations while eating. If we ever return to Vicksburg, I'll do my best to reserve a room here!…
I was there for one night, the B & B was nice held to the history & era. Location was perfect, the hospitality was lacking in my experiance with B & B's, made I caught the owner on a off day. I wasn't going to be able to wait for breaskfast that isn't served untill 8:30, which was my choice. I also didn't expect a refund for the cost. I had asked a week before if it were prossible for them to have a plain yogurt to go for me. That was out of the question as I given directions to the nearest market . After driving all day that was a dissapoinment. If they would have responed to me earlier I would have stopped and bought it myself on my way into town. Youre also not allowed to take coffee with you, I guess it's to much effort to make another pot. The cup I was allowed was good coffee though. My room was nice clean , if a little tired in the linen department. I wish I could rave about how great it was, but I can;t. My trip was not all a disappoinment though , I had a lovely time & great food at Relish Bistro, read my review for the restaurant.…
