Spent one night in Vicksburg. Macy runs the place with a "strong" hand - lovely lady who will sit with you at a banquet breakfast and then give you a tour of the house. Lot of history here. We stayed in Galleries 4 - which is a separate building built in 1996 but reflects the period of the original building. Nice quiet room with king bed and fire place. Only negatives - bathroom is "tired" - looks original from 1996 with limited upgrade. Also views of the Mississippi are very limited - unless they cut the tops of trees on their property.

This B & B is very special place. The owners make you feel at home. Welcoming you from their first interaction, Macy knows so much history and can answer all questions Her tour is on point. We stayed in the Gallerias #4 and could see the river from the balcony. King bed was comfortable and room was nice and clean. The porch was a nice place to have coffee or drink and relax. Our room had all we needed. Coffee maker and coffee is provided at this room. We stayed two nights, and fresh towels were provided. The breakfast each morning is awesome and is very plentiful and delish. Joe prepares each plate with juice, water and coffee. We skipped lunch. LOL Macy gave us recommendations on site seeing and places to eat. We would go back and stay here anytime, hopefully soon.

We were on a ride on the trace. Keep in mind, Vicksburg is not in the trace. If I recall it is about 10 miles, some on busy roads. When you get here it is a very cool old mansion, and helpful owners. I feel bad how Covid hurt small places like this and would love to see mor people stop by.

Over the years, during four visits to Vicksburg, Mississippi, my wife and I have noticed that there are more and more quality accommodations becoming available, especially of the bed-and-breakfast variety. One of the best is the Corners Mansion, a three-star country-style bed-and-breakfast with views of the Mississippi River. Located at 601 Klein Street in the historic garden district, across the street from Cedar Grove, it was built in 1873 and features three buildings, private porches and comfortable rocking chairs. Not to mention a delicious breakfast of eggs, bacon and biscuits to kick off your day of sight-seeing. Corners Mansion comes complete with a concierge, game room, room service, library, garden and free parking. Book a De Luxe King room, 398 square feet of comfort and luxury with a king-sized bed, coffee machine, flat screen cable TV and free wi-fi. It isn't an antebellum home and wasn't around during the Civil War when other homes in Vicksburg were targets for Union artillery. But you wouldn't know it from the surroundings and southern hospitality provided by the proprietors, Joe and Macy. General Grant would have loved this place.

We had a wonderful long weekend at The Corners Mansion. The room was comfortable and well appointed, the breakfasts were delicious, and the proprietors, Joe and Macy were terrific hosts. We had difficulty finding a rental car company in Vicksburg, however, thanks to Joe and Macy, they were able to help us get a car. If you do not mind a few stairs, Gallery rooms 3 and 4 has a view of the river (with a nice porch and comfortable rocking chairs).
