We visited Waikiki for a family vacation. The Queen Kapiolani Hotel is located conveniently to all of the Waikiki Beach attractions. Waikiki is a apparently very busy strip all year round and the Queen Kapiolani is a comfortable, if a bit dated, retreat from the hectic scene. Our room (as I suspect all of the rooms to be) was from... More

We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding and this is where all the guests were staying. Probably wouldn't have chosen it otherwise as we normally stay in the middle of Waikiki however we loved both the hotel and the location. We got a penthouse suite as it was cheaper than the cost of an ocean view room... More

A few blocks from the beach, across the street from the zoo, walking distance to all of Waikiki's fun, but a little quieter, this hotel is well located. The room was fairly quiet, and comfortable, with no decor or artwork, but comfortable beds, small but serveable bathroom, a small balcony. Poolside restaurant was ok, except for the loud country music.... More

Well yes the rooms are small and a lil dated. Yes the shower is small and cramped (I'm 5'4). What makes up for it? Location and staff. Walking distance to nice restaurants as well as ABC stores, starbucks, and fast food restaurants. The bar is awesome and the drinks are cold. The front desk was extremely friendly. You get an... The Pros: Great location just a block from the beach and the happening stuff, the views of Diamondhead from the balcony were great, and views of the beach. The bar tender at the pool bar was awesome. The cons: at check in they tried to add some sort of resort fee to my pre-paid bill, which I had to talk... More

Not a five star resort but it was affordable and clean. Staff was very helpful. Valet was great and super helpful. Very close to the beach and many restaurants. It was also a close walk to Diamond Head hike. Most tours pick up from here as well. Beds were small but it was ok for just sleeping. The bar had... More

We stayed for a one-night staycation with a group of friends. Our friends booked suites and were quite pleased with their rooms. We booked a standard double and were put into an odd-shaped room right behind the elevators, which meant that all night long we were woken up every time someone used the elevators. It was awful. When we checked... More

The Queen Kapiolani Hotel has such a great location for Waikiki. Just across from the Zoo the location gives you open ocean views and of Diamond Head, something most Waikiki hotels don't have. Because there is not other hotels on either side of you it seems just a touch more peaceful and less hectic. The valet staff was very helpful... More

The price was great, the location is amazing, the room was nice and the people were very friendly. The room was a little tired, like the wallpaper was bubbling, the windows are outdated louvered style.
