The hotel is such a cool boutique hotel. The staff fits right in. Kyle was there at 11:30 pm to greet us in the parking area and carried the heaviest bag up the stairs with a smile. Chad gave us his personal cell phone number just in case we were held up on our flight over (which we were). And Chad is bartender extraordinaire! Renee helped us coordinate our visit through multiple phone calls because of all the COVID confusion. All in all we could not be happier with coming back a second time to the Equus and would not consider staying anywhere else. The location, cleanliness of rooms, peacefulness while being right downtown Waikiki, and the STAFF!! makes this place a sure thing if you want to enjoy your Hawaii stay!

Had to get a super last minute hotel. Went across street to Prince Waikiki and it’s was $450 for the night. Walked to Equus and it was $99 for basically the same location. Even better - Equus is SUPER RAD. Chad was working the hotel and had in awesome music and was a total pleasure - got me a room in 3m way after hours. He’s an awesome guy. Will definitely be back - what a great vibe!!!

Got in late at night and had to change plans on the fly. While searching for a Hotel after spending 5 hours at the Airport, Chad at The Equus said, "Come on down, we'll take care of you!" He greeted me with a warm welcome, nice smile, and great attitude. Chad was the most helpful and kind person. He went over and beyond the call of duty to help me find accommodations. The housekeeping staff was great and did a great job, nice staff. I recommend everyone stay at a place that treats people the way Chad did, "The Equus"

My husband and I are in Hawaii for our honeymoon and were shopping places to stay when our plans needed to change last minute. I called The Equus and was instantly put in touch with Chad who has been the most helpful and kind person we've spoken to on the Island. Chad went over and beyond the call of duty to help my husband and I find safe and appropriate accommodations. He was very knowledgeable about the services the Equus could provide and the resources we have available to us on Oahu. Even though we never had the pleasure to meet Chad or stay at the Equus we consider him a friend and would recommend any and everyone stay at a place that treats people the way Chad did.

This hotel is the only family owned hotel in the islands, but there is so much more to love about it. The bar is chic and comfortable, the pool is very relaxing, and Roy the bartender is fantastic guy with a great sense of humor! Definitely give this place a visit!!
