My husband and I had a staycation here for one night. I booked the room through a travel site and not with the hotel directly. I arrived alone before my husband because he was still working. When I walked in there were two men standing at the front desk talking, none of them greeted me, no “hello” or “welcome” nothing. As I was checking in the man at the front informed me that I would be charged $50. When I asked what it was for, he said it was a refundable security deposit and that “this information was given to you when you booked the room” however, I went back to the website and checked, it did not show that information. The room was great for the price. Very comfortable and clean. The bath tub is pretty large and is very relaxing. Our mini fridge didn’t work, it was defrosted and filled with water, and there was an empty beer bottle on our balcony. The next morning we went to get breakfast, which wasn’t much. Cereal, juice, bagels, toast, oranges, muffins, and coffee were all that they had. We checked to see if the pool and sauna were open, they were not due to the pandemic. While checking out, the woman at the front desk was way more helpful and kind. However, she informed me that I had to pay another fee of $28 before checking out. I asked what this fee was for now because I had no idea I’d be charged again. She said it was the amenity fee. I thought it was kind of odd because of the fact that all the amenities they usually offer were unavailable due to corona virus. Overall my stay was enjoyable. I just wish they’d be more up front about all the fees you’ll be charged and when exactly they will charge you.

Aloha salotel485, I am very disappointed to hear that you were not greeted with the warm aloha we are known for and that the fees were unclear prior to arrival. I will inform our housekeeping of your findings to ensure we are able to avoid such an issue in the future. I have made note and passed your feedback along to our management team for further review. I am glad to hear you did enjoy your room and you were able to still enjoy your stay despite the above, as shown in other reviews we pride ourselves on our customer service and hope we will have a chance to welcome you back for a more enjoyable stay. This was a perfect hotel for us: quiet, located a nice walk from the beach, close to restaurants and shops, delicious breakfast included, good size room with balcony to enjoy the outside, extremely helpful staff. The hotel has a wonderful, relaxing feel. It's on the smaller size which was great as it made us feel very much at home. After our trip we realized that we had forgotten something at the hotel. Thanks to the guest supervisor, Olivia Fields, we were able to have the item shipped to us. She was very professional, patient and understanding of the situation. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

My and my husband had an amazing staycation! The staff and ambiance were absolutely fantastic. The breakfast was a nice touch in the morning. Unfortunately because of the pandemic we were not allowed to use the pool or sauna but that's all the more reason to come back!
