The New Otani Kaimana is a great hotel in a great spot with reasonable rates in an otherwise expensive city. It's just a short walk to the strip in Waikiki but far enough away that you don't feel like you're in the city. The hotel is an older building that's been renovated so the rooms are a little small but...

We stayed here in December for our wedding and absolutely loved it. The beach out the front is nice and quiet compared to the busier Waikiki options which are just a short walk away if you really want it.. Great garden restaurant. Our suite gave us both ocean, city and mountain views. Would love to go back to Oahu and...

Great location for our needs. Walking distance to all of Waikiki. Kaimana Beach was very nice....not as crowded as Waikiki. Nice public park adjacent to hotel. Some rooms are in dire need of updating. Oceanview rooms were nicely appointed but rooms on the other side were definitely not! We were with a large group & everyone paid the same room...

We stayed here on our honeymoon. Fantastic quiet location off the strip but still a ten minute walk to everything. The hotel is beachfront and has gorgeous views of diamond head. Great staff, clean rooms. The only negative I could think of is that the decor is outdated, but we didn't spend our time in the room. The restaurant Miyako...

This is a very good choice for a hotel near Waikiki, but away from the congestion, and near Diamond Head. We were just a few stories up, with palm trees at the window, with a Waikiki view. We were pleased. You can walk past the adjacent park into Waikiki for dinner, shopping, etc. There is another very large park across...

This hotel is looked on the other side of the park that boarders Waikiki. The noise and tourist craziness of Waikiki is left behind, yet all is within walking distance. The service was great and the staff very friendly. We paid for a Diamond Head view room which includes a view of the parking lot...hmmm. Wouldn't bother to do that...

We stayed here for two weeks and everything was perfect. The food in the restaurant is excellent, we ate most of our meals here. The service is good and the employees are friendly. Our room had an nice view of the ocean, everything worked the way it should and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel is far...

Stayed here for business on April 26-28th, middle of the week. The hotel was not full. My 6th floor room was tiny and dumpy. Seriously, it looked like a Motel 6 room and had a small balcony which overlooked a parking lot. The bed was full size, not queen and the bedding was old and worn, like the rest of...

The New Otani Kaimana was a letdown; we have stayed at their property in Beijing, which was fantastic. However, the Kaimana located at the end of the beach disappointed at almost every turn. From the check in where the desk was unable or unwilling to provide information on the local bus routes, to the Parkview room with dead bugs in...

On earlier visits to O'ahu, I've stayed at the enormous 'chain' hotels; all usually quite good but massive and impersonal and with a jaded staff. The New Otani is very highly to be recommended: - the location is wonderfully restful at the eastern end of Kapiolani Park, as it were exactly 'under' Diamond Head Crater. Thus it's far from the...
