Hotel's Favorite
Our three day staycation was a fantastic getaway for our family of 5. From the outset, there was great communication from the staff regarding changes due to the COVID rules - one hour pool reservations, hot breakfast to go only, etc. They also acknowledged our diamond status with 4p late check out, snacks and a room view upgrade. We had a beeping smoke detector on arrival and it was fixed before we got back from our swim reservation. The hotel was clean and although some things were scaled down (no evening reception or room service), the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room 1031, faced the pool, and had beach views. There was plenty of space for our family to spread out. You can tell they are trying to update the rooms with modern furniture and paint, but there are still signs of aging, but nothing that would keep us from coming back. The location is right across a quiet street from the beach access and it is directly above plenty of restaurants with much more available just down the strip. It's obviously quiet right now due to low occupancy, but from our room, I could only hear the pool fountain and no street noise. I highly recommend this hotel for Hilton loyalists, as the location and price can't be beat - even before the pandemic we had planned to stay here.

My Ohana and I booked a two bedroom suite for the weekend. Upon arrival, valet was attentive opened the doors for us and offered to take our bags to our room. The suite was clean and bigger than expected. Unfortunately with the pandemic in affect, the pools required reservation but the staff member that I had talked to did a great job at explaining the reservation process. Breakfast is included which is great! Overall my family had a great experience and can’t wait to come back.

Since we did already stayed in Waikiki at different hotel, and our next hotel lodging was Embassy Suites ,we did visit front desk 4 days earlier to confirm our stay and discuss our preference of the room.We did stay at Embassy Suites many times in full season in room 1830 we though to possibly request the same room in Covid 19 times when occupation is very low. Coming back to that room will be for us to like coming home,we did end up in the room not even close.Front desk employee Sandra K. with her response to us was very unhelpful and unwelcoming and even unprofessional. Today at check in she was supervising another employee giving us room at very low level, where we can smell fumes ,very noisy and construction project in front of us in hotel with many ,many empty rooms. We did mention that we are Diamond Hilton Honor members. This very disappointing experience specially in the day of our 26th Anniversary. Another unpleasant experience in our second night stay was surprise wake up around 4am by 4 people having fun loud party in jacuzzi,Hotel security was not aware of that even this was happening already for while Another night and another jacuzzi party this time at 1 AM even with music, security came and went away, party continues for another 15 minutes with the laps in the pool.Person answering the phone at night told me "It's not our fault, they are there illegally"Realy?

Location - at end of Beach St in Waikiki , walking distance to many shops / restaurants. Decorations / furnishings- disappointing for a hotel that charges $300+ a night . The suites are fairly roomy , but everything feels very dated in the rooms - an update is badly needed . There is absolutely nothing fancy at this hotel and it’s rooms - for what they charge... Views - be careful with what you book and get if you want a nice ocean view . I purposefully booked an ocean view (not partial ocean view) room because I had to work from hotel room for a few hours on the day after I arrived . I checked into hotel late, and was assigned room 2107 at aloha tower. When I woke up in the morning - what a disappointment it was to see the view from a room that should have ocean view - it was essentially city view with a tiny bit of ocean in between the high rises . As a diamond member who booked a ocean view room , I found it unacceptable that I was assigned a room with barely any ocean view . I brought this issue up with the front desk staff , who assisted me with changing to room 2031 in hula tower , which has a gorgeous ocean view . Breakfast - oleanders now as take out fast food breakfast- nothing fancy but acceptable. WiFi - worked fine. Valet parking - $35 a night , very convenient and efficient. Cleanliness - very good except for the bathtub area - ceiling had slight mold and there were strands of hair stuck to side of bath tub walls ... The biggest reasons I have this place a one star are ::: old, unattractive furnishings, and assigning guests a room with barely any ocean view when an ocean view room was booked ( and there were no issues with room availability).

Aloha sdgt625 and please accept our appreciation for sharing your review after your recent visit with us. We are thrilled that you enjoyed our great location in the heart of Waikiki, just steps away from great shopping, restaurants, as well as one block from the beach. All of our hosts take great pride in sharing their Aloha with our guests so that each guest feels a warm welcome. Your comment on our guest rooms is surprising as we just completed an $8 million dollar guest rooms renovation this year and you are one of the first guests to experience the new guest room product. We worked closely with local artists to draw inspiration to create a sense of place in our newly updated rooms. If you could reach out to us I would like to see what I can do to assist you with the room you were originally given at check in. We try to honor guest requests and upgrades whenever possible. I am happy that our team was able to provide you with an ocean view that met your expectations soon after your arrival. Mahalo and thanks for being a Diamond member and we certainly appreciate you choosing the Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach walk as your place to stay on this recent visit.
