Travelers' Choice
In a destination that’s famous for being popular, the Shoreline is comfortable in its own skin. The hotel — 135 rooms over 14 floors — has a scale absent from most Waikiki Resorts, and the 1970s design creates a contemporary feel. Accommodations are bright and well‑appointed.

Do not stay here. The rooms are not clean at all (plus they are outdated.) and they charge $30 EXTRA per day for amenities that are not going to be used — because of poor quality. The fee is not okay bc the hotel should already provide it.

I'm sorry to hear that we missed the mark with your room. Our amenity fee includes complimentary morning coffee, a welcome snack tray upon arrival, soda stream stating, $5 off Heavenly restaurant daily, among other inclusions. I'm sorry that you were not able to partake in the amenities. I appreciate your feedback and will certainly take your comments into consideration as we review our offerings. Hotel's Favorite
I stayed at the Shoreline twice in 2022 for a total of 15 nights and couldn't recommend it more highly. The location is fantastic. Right off the main streets of Waikiki so there is peace and quiet, but it is just a few minutes walk to my favorite restaurants, stores, and the main Waikiki beach. The amenities are thoughtful, with a Sodastream filtered water station that I utilized heavily, a rooftop pool, free snacks and Dole whip upon checkin, and daily specials like yoga, cotton candy, and popcorn. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and room service did a great job daily. Justin at the front desk made sure I had a great stay. The hotel is vibrant and the vibe is friendly. The value is also great for Waikiki. I've stayed in numerous hotels and Airbnbs in the area and from now on will continue to stay at the Shoreline Waikiki.

The staff were very polite but they gave me a room next to the incessant noise of the elevator. I really wanted a good night’s sleep, so I asked whether there was another room available. They gave me one far from the elevator, all right. You walk down a hall with housekeepers on break sitting on the floor along with bags of stuff. The balcony looks out over a parking lot directly below it. So instead of elevator noise, I got cars starting up under my window, and frequently slamming room doors in the hall. I should have checked out this new room better before accepting it. But I didn’t think we were in Italy, where you never accept the first two rooms offered. No closet or even a peg to hang clothes on, no luggage rack, and a handicapped shower, no counter space in the bathroom. I do feel like I am being treated differently as a senior woman travelling solo.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here greatly! The hotel room itself is pretty basic, but it's decorated in a fun, charming way that brightens your mood! The rooftop pool is an awesome location to swim if you're looking for something a little more private than the beach. One of the best parts about staying here is that a major tour bus pickup spot is right across the street. The location is incredibly walkable -- the variety of shops and restaurants within a ten minute walking radius is remarkable, not to mention proximity to Waikiki Beach! You'd think that being so close to everything would mean the location is loud, but it's tucked away just enough so that you don't hear the bustle. We would stay here again!

I booked my reservation with Shoreline. They accepted my Chase points and money and then never contacted me to let me know there was issue with their system. When I arrived, they told me they had my reservation on file but already were fully booked and sent me away with my 9 month old baby at 10:30 at night. Very unhelpful and placed my family in a potentially dangerous position with nowhere to stay. Cannot recommend taking the risk with this company. Try a different hotel.

Responded Oct 10, 2023
Aloha Laura, Please accept my sincere apologies for the challenges you faced. If I may take some time to explain, I hope that you may have a different understanding of the hotel's role in your reservation challenge. As the hotel does not accept Chase points, the reservation wasn't made directly with the hotel. You booked your reservation through a third-party travel organization, who in turn attempted to book the reservation with Shoreline Hotel Waikiki. Unfortunately, we did not have the room type the third-party company attempted to book, and thus never confirmed the reservation with the third-party company. At the time you called the hotel inquiring about parking and a pack and play, the front desk host advised that we did not have your reservation and to contact whoever you made the reservation through as we were fully committed that night. While our front desk host attempted to assist you further over the phone, she was interrupted and advised you would be leaving a terrible review. I can assure you, if you had arrived to the hotel, we would have done all we could to assist in finding alternative accommodation. I realize that the challenges you faced with your family’s accommodation put you in a very difficult situation. However, I hope that this explanation provides some clarity about what happened. Reservation or not, we should never have made you feel like you were "sent away" with nowhere to stay, and for that I apologize.

Best place for party animal because there is a c;ub right beside the Hotel so if you bed time is 3h30 in the morning, this is the perfect place for you. I am NOT a party animal, so I did'nt sleep. I was offer earplug! I wanted to spek to the manager: A gost....send e-mail no response, send messenger no response. They offer me 30$ off...WOW I decline. don t forget to add to their price 45$ daily for parking and 30$ daily for amendie. So you pay a fortune to be a in a BArbie style hotel but you don't sleep. the door make so much noise when they close so If you have the chance to sleep: the door will wake up up for sure...Basicly the remodel an old Hotel to give it a good look but forgot to UP GRADE the quality of the doors. The pool area is so small the the loudge chair need to be on the side instead of in the front so basicly if you are 2 impossible to be side by side. Only 4 chairs and the ventilation beside the pool make it very difficult to take a nap...so noise at the pool, noise in the room due to the club beside so If you need to sleep regular hours, don't let you attract by the miami-barbie look :)

Aloha Journey, Please accept my sincere apologies for you discomfort on the last night of your stay with us. I understand that having a good night sleep is important to an amazing vacation. Unfortunately, there is a outdoor rooftop bar on Kalakaua that may have caused the noise you are referring to, but no "club" on the property. The hotel was fully committed, and we did not have an option to relocate you to a different room. We will take a look at the door closures as they are required to close completely and quickly for our guests safety. Our apologies again for the disruption you encountered on the last night of your stay.

Starting with the bad: I booked this hotel because of previous reviews that mentioned little perks that sounded so nice. NONE of those perks existed! There was NO Dole Whip sample or any for purchase. There were NO leis in the room. There were NO fresh fruit waters. Water is available, but it is plain water, in a kiosk that you have to scan a code to get. There were NO cute floaties in the pool, which isn't a big deal but would have been nice for photo ops. No microwave in the room, but one small one in the lobby for all of the guests to share. If you need a comfortable, clean, bare-bones, nothing-fancy hotel that is still cute, this one will work for you. The good: The location can not be beat, you’re right in the heart of Waikiki within walking distance of so many restaurants, bars, activities, casual and upscale shopping, and the beach. Even with the bustling location it was quiet enough at night to get sleep. The hotel is very colorful and has a nice vibe. The price is right, and you get free admission to 2 museums, Bishops, and another I can't remember. There is a $5 credit for the attached restaurant, but we didn't make it in. I am a very low-maintenance traveler, so this hotel was great for my needs which was just a place to shower and sleep. If you like luxury and amenities, I would seek accommodation elsewhere.

Shoreline is a wonderful hotel in Waikiki Honolulu. Since I had some trouble with my flights to Honolulu, I was in contact with the hotel prior arrival. The staff was really helpful and welcoming when I finally arrived. The hotel has a great vibe and is decorated accordingly. Great that they have restaurant Heavenly right next to them, they serve freshly made dished and have great staff. The staff at Shoreline are really friendly and service oriented. I’m especially impressed by Pua, who gave me some great tips and was very helpful during my stay. Her warm personality really made it great to return to Shoreline Waikiki after a day at the nearby beach or enjoying Oahu’s wonders of nature. Every hotel should have somebody like Pua!

Shoreline is definitely a special boutique hotel with all the thoughtful details and service. For example, we kept the “no bodda” (do not disturb) sign on the door the whole time, and every day, the cleaning crew slipped a little note asking if we were ok and to contact them for cleaning if we changed our mind. That’s never happened to us before at a hotel. It shows care! Shoreline had a complimentary snack box with local products in the room. I thought this was very special. That never happens at a chain hotel either. Other hotels charge for any food in the room. Again, it’s the little details like this that make you feel like this boutique hotel cares. One more thing that made our life easier: filtered water dispenser behind the lobby. It even had fruit-flavored water if you preferred that. On other trips, I am always buying water to drink. At Shoreline, I was just filling up my water bottle every day and saving money. The location is fantastic because it is quite literally at the midpoint of Kalakaua (the major waterfront street in Waikiki). Half a block from the ocean. There is no need to rent a car if you stay here and plan to do most of the activities in and near Waikiki. However, if you decide to rent a car, there is valet parking on the premises or you can look for street parking in the area. The room was immaculately and of a good size. We could see the ocean from our room. The elevators were fast so we never had to wait for one for long. The design of the room was cheerful and super cute. All the little details in the room made it special. It had local sayings and the Hawaiian islands above the bed. Cool art in the hotel in general. The owner has great taste in art. The lobby has super high ceilings so it felt really airy and nice in there. They offer complimentary coffee in the morning. Lastly, great staff. They always say hi. I would definitely recommend this bouquet hotel to all my friends and family coming to stay in Waikiki.
