In a destination that’s famous for being popular, the Shoreline is comfortable in its own skin. The hotel — 135 rooms over 14 floors — has a scale absent from most Waikiki Resorts, and the 1970s design creates a contemporary feel. Accommodations are bright and well‑appointed.

It was our first time in Hawaii and Josh was extremely helpful in suggesting places to go to while providing an accommodating presence. He also proactively gave us a little packet of information with directions on a map and tons of food and activity recommendations for us to check out. Of the recommendations, he gave tips that only locals knew and we had a great time avoiding the mass of tourists. Definitely a super convenient location next to Waikiki beach and great customer service!

Such a cute, fun place! The lobby is really fantastic - rooms show that it's an older property that has been updated. Especially bathrooms - not much was really done as far as updates there - they are clean, but obviously very dated. Hotel has a quirky boutique stand in the lobby, yummy fruit waters and daily events. Pool is very small, but it was always empty during my stay. You have a fantastic "welcome basket" in your room when you arrive. Anything from snacks to accessories. Loved it! I think it will be my first choice when I go to Hawaii again. Location is great - right by the Japanese food court, just steps from the beach. I paid a fraction of the price of the waterfront resorts - which are not only super expensive, but are also getting very dated, so those high prices are really not justified anymore. Now the not so good: - hallways are filled with a very strong, unpleasant smell from the restaurant downstairs (which is very not memorable by the way). It's such a great property - this is horrible and unacceptable - customer service has a long way to go. They are so slow to respond, or just forget altogether, or don't pass the information to the next shift. the service is really not there. I asked for several days for the laundry service, with no success. When I got impatient, because I had no clean clothes, the receptionist advised me to go to the laundromat - Lobby has the most inconvenient set up for a hotel - it's a long flight of stairs and no ramp or anything to pull your suitcase. I had to carry my gigantic suitcase up those stairs, which almost broke me in half. The lobby stuff doesn't come out to help you either. This is just not acceptable for a hotel

Shoreline Hotel Waikiki is a great hotel. Very colourful. Well looked after by staff. Helpful with local information. Close to beach, restaurants, transportation, shopping, sights. Josh at the service desk is fantastic with helping tourists. Knows his way around Waikiki, advises about great tours, just ask Josh where to find great food.

Review collected in partnership with this hotel
Shoreline was a decent hotel. The rooms are nice sized. Good air-con and wifi. The hotel is a little older. I had not stayed in a hotel with a shower curtain in a long time. It served its purpose of giving me a place to rest my head while in Hawaii for a few days. If I was with my family, I do not think this would be my first choice. However, overall, decent for the area.
