After we booked our vacation months in advance. We finally got here to check in. After standing in a line for close to an hour waiting on just 2 others to check in. We found out that the information we were given to us when we booked was incorrect. We originally booked a ocean front room. The lady that checked us in actually called someone else and told them that we booked through a travel agency and gave us a downgrade on our room. She said we would pay the “resort fee” upon check out but she tried to charge our card anyway. After she insulted us, embarrassed us and belittled us. We finally just paid cash. We got up to the room, and noticed the room was NOT what we paid for. There’s no ventilation in the bathroom, the shower doors leak, there no microwave so you are forced to buy the incredibly over priced food. They don’t offer room service and they don’t offer breakfast unless you pay an extra 43.00 per person per day. I thought all this was covered with the “resort fee”? Nope! You are literally paying for others to have a good time. The walls are so thin, we can hear the room next door use the bathroom. Kids screaming even their alarm woke us up in our room. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else.…
The room is clean, modern, and new. The location is great, right by the beach, and many restaurants, shops nearby--really convenient. The staff is friendly, too. Only thing I didnt like was the fact that the beds in a two-bed unit are only twin sized, as you would expect queen beds elsewhere. But that seems to be the general case in Hawaii, so I wouldn't be too picky. Do note that because it is by the busy beach and restaurants, it is really noisy in the evening. Its not a big deal for some, but if you want to go to bed in US time, or are traveling with kids do keep that in mind, it is really noisy outside and the patio doors are not very noise-isolating.
My family and I visited this hotel. Facilities were clean, actives were amazing. The highlight of our stay more than anything was Scott at the kids pool and Queensbreak! He made us feel like family from our first day. So much so we looked for him daily to be sure we would be in his section! Every day he recognized us by name, and greeted us with smiles and truly feelings of family and love. Scott never seemed to miss a beat no matter how busy he was! On the weekends he was truly busy!!! He however made us feel like we were the only family he was taking care of!! Which I know was not true, because we observed him helping others with the same enthusiasm and attentiveness as he did us!! I have never been to any hotel where I have left with a feeling of family which sits more deeply and fondly in my memory then just having a good time. I will always remember my vacation in Waikiki and that is largely in part to Scott!!! Thank you Scott you will always be in the Muhammad family’s heart!!! Mahalo!!!…
Our family of 4 with 2 young ones in tow and my sister's family of 5 travelled to Hawaii and I'm over the moon with my experience here at Waikiki Beach Marriott . They sure know how to keep their clients happy and the entire operation was ran smoothly. From checking in to checking out each and everyone we dealt with was amazing. I want to give the best shoutout I can give to the guest experience team, Nanea and Meleana. They were so thoughtful and helped me plan the most wonderful birthday surprise to my little boy with cake, presents and balloons. It was the most sweetest thing anything ever done for me and brought tears of joy to my eyes and my little one was super super excited! I truly hope that good karma gets to these 2 amazing people!!!! Also a shoutout to Rayanne at check in was professional and empathetic that we just got out of our long flight from Canada and wanted a room asap. In a short amount of time we were whisked away into our sleeping quarters. Dean at the Cabanas was diligently checking up on our party to make sure we had food and drinks. Overall one of the most memorable vacations I been on because of people that work here, especially Nanea and Meleana. You guys rock!!!!!!…
Great location to stay if you can find a good price. Breakfast buffet is average and $28 for continental and $48 for the full Buffett. Which is average for Waikiki prices. Self parking is a nightmare and half the hotel workers use it. Hotel rooms are large with a small refrigerator and balconies.
The hotel pool area and location is fantastic - Loved that they had an adults pool area and bar. Our room was comfortable and the ocean view to wake up to each morning was well worth the extra. Wouldn't usually participate in the resort activities, but did on this trip and enjoyed all of them, especially the sunset painting. Wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
Great hotel. The location, the service, the vibes, the staff and their hospitalities. Especially one of the staff, Her name is Rainbow, she went above and beyond for taking care of all the guests including us. Thank you Rainbow. We highly recommend to stay this hotel.
Have been looking forward to staying here for a few months. Would read every review as it was posted. Finally arrived and we were very happy with this hotel. Everything went smoothly from check-in to daily housekeeping to the pool and grounds. Was just across the road from the beach that we visited every day. This beach was absolutely perfect for small children (I had a 5 year old with me). Lifeguard stations were open and the wall created great protection from the surf. There is more than one ABC Store in the resort as well as a Starbucks (was great for mobile ordering). We ate poolside two days and the food was very good. The room was standard with two full beds, but the lanai is where we spent our time. It is so nice to sit out at any hour in the day due to the warmth. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are water stations in the lobby area to fill up water containers. We never had any issues with the elevators taking too long, but yes, the walls are thin - so you do hear others around you. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again in the future.…
Quick stay for overnight flight connection. We normally stay at the Moana or Royal Hawaiian, but with less than 24 hrs, we decided to give the Marriott Waikiki another try. We had previously stayed in the Paoakalani Tower, and this time booked a room in the Kealohilani (closer to the beach). Checking in at the Bonvoy desk was extremely slow. My status was recognized and we were upgraded to a king oceanfront room, which we appreciated. The rooms are rather small, and the beds are unlike the comfy Marriott beds we are used to. The bathroom was tiny and the toilet so low that it belonged in a child's bathroom. The bathroom door is a glass slider, which floods the bedroom with light every time someone got up to use the bathroom. From the 14th floor, we had a nice view towards the Royal Hawaiian (we prefer Diamond Head view) but could still hear quite a bit of noise from performers and traffic on Kalakaua Ave. This side of the building is L shaped, so there is absolutely no privacy on the balcony, as it faces those to the right. Unfortunately a group of young men in one of these rooms chose to blast their music so loudly that we could hear it all the way down on the street when we went down for dinner. Less than ideal for a good nights' sleep! I called security and they left a message saying they were "unable" to locate the noise. Elevators are very slow. Overall, I would consider trying a Diamond Head facing room on a higher floor, and possibly a suite vs regular room. I would rate this property as "average."…
Awesome hotel, great location, fantastic food, great staff. Kids loved it. Only a 4/5 rather than 5/5 because the concierge was really unhelpful in providing information. I think he is maybe in the wrong job. Couldn’t help organise anything for us. Either because, as he said, it was close to his lunch or on the next occasion, rather than advising us on possible options to move around the island, we should just hire an Uber. Bit disappointing for such a lux hotel. Nevertheless, a very relaxing break. Short walk along the road from the hotel I n Waikki - Recommend Dukes for dinner with kids and Ramen Momosan -sticky ribs and Ramen delicious.
