    EVENTUALLY THINGS WENT WELL !
I am a titanium member and seldom ever have check-in issue. I arrived in Honolulu at the Marriott and at the Bonvoy Elite check-in, they said they only had a double bed low floor room city view available when my reservation, made months in advance, was for a king, high floor ocean view. i was pretty perturbed after a 12 hour flight from Boston. Thankfully, the Front Desk Supervisor came along, Shermaine and within 10 minutes fixed everything and I was good to go and everything turned out great. Hotel is very nice. Stayed in the K Tower, 15th floor overlooking the pool and oceanview. This hotel has great access to the beach and the pool is great but only after about 1:00 pm when the sun comes over the hotel tower. Bell men are very helpful but do not love unloading taxi's or cars at the entrance (once you have lugged the bags to reception, they are all excited to help). Food choices in the hotel are OK. The adjacent Italian restaurant is expensive and food is expensive, small portions, but good. Sushi restaurant is fair both in food and price. Breakfast is very good; buffet with very friendly service. Compared to other Waikaki hotels, I think this has best options for beach, location, action, etc. Because of construction in pool area, there was occasional banging when at the pool but heard nothing in my room.

This is a standard chain hotel serving an American buffet breakfast nothing special.
The Marriott Waikiki is a standard resort hotel very clean and impersonal, could be a hotel anywhere in the world. The check in staff were very helpful and courteous, our room was basic and simple. but had a balcony with a view of Diamond head other the top of other hotels, and if you looked around the corner you could see Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole beach and the sea. We checked the Grill restaurant out for their breakfast buffet, but nothing special enough to spend $35.00 on. (each) So settled for a couple of continental breakfasts with a view of the beach over the road. It is close to the beach so would be go for families with children to stay at. TIP: This area was once the Home of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole, his statue is just across the road by the beach. This great man was the only elected member of a Royal family and British Officer to serve in the United States House of Representatives.
Aloha! thank you for sharing your feedback. We hope to provide you with a better experience on your next stay. Mahalo

Great Rooms and Great Reservation Staff
Firstly, I strongly recommend everyone to book through Marian in Reservations. She was unbelievable in making sure our reservation was spot on (we had 3 rooms and wanted them together). Her responses to my emails etc was truly above and beyond. It is the BEST experience I have ever had when making a hotel reservation and she is a true ambassador on behalf of the hotel. Secondly, the rooms. We normally stay at the Moana Surfrider in one of their suites but no more. We stayed in the newly renovated suite with adjoining rooms on level 17 of the Kealohilani tower (closest to the beach). The room was huge with not 1 but 3 balconies. We had 2 x toilets, 2 x baths and a huge living area. The views over Waikiki beach especially at sunset were picture perfect. We got plenty of sun and the rooms were just fantastic. Again I would prefer these suites compared to the Moans Surfrider suites. The Moana Terrace is perhaps the best spot to watch the sunset over a drink. I am a very keen photographer and visited a number of other locations ie Tiki Bar, The Deck etc, but the Moana Terrace was the best. The food and drinks were reasonable. The Kealohilani pool deck area is being renovated and closed on the last day we were there. There is a second pool on the same level (level 3) located in the other tower. this had just been renovated and was great. D.K. Steakhouse in the hotel is the best steakhouse in Waikiki by far. If you are wondering why I have not given the hotel 5 x stars is because of the reception staff. Upon arrival, their internet was down so we could not check in and we had to wait. Also I had issues with the bill which took ages to remedy - hence the 4 star rating. I must also mention "buster" who helped with our bags. What a great ambassador of the hotel. Both my wife and I were left amazed by his zest for life, his passion for his job and love of the hotel. Both him and Marian are a credit to the Marriott name. I would highly recommend staying at the hotel (Kealohilani tower) for the following reasons: Huge rooms Great views Newly renovated Great location Great restaurants in the hotel ABC shop in the foyer Great Pool Bar and Terrace and Great sunset views

Really nice hotel with attentive staff, it was fairly quiet being on one end of Waikiki and Happy Hour Food was very good with a nice 3rd level location near the main pool. Great ambiance, near the zoo and across the street from a very good salt water swimming area. Good beds and a nice partial ocean view with quality housekeeping staff.

This hotel was amazing & as a delegation of 6 people from Ireland we were welcomed with an amazing spirit. The hotel is perfectly located with a 2 minute walk to the main Wakiki beach. The rooms were serviced everyday to perfection and the pools are amazing with unreal views of the city. I would definitely recommend. The Luau at the hotel was superb and super entertaining. We learned so much about the history and culture through the means of an interactive and engaging show. The food was great and accommodating to all needs, I would definitely recommend this to any visitors

This hotel had a beautiful view of Waikiki beach. We were lucky to have a balcony room. The rooms were nicely refurbished. There is also a fridge in the room. Beach is only 5 minutes away. Valet parking is expensive at $60/night, but that's Waikiki prices for you. The gym and pool area are beautiful. The hotel is also located 5-6 minutes' drive from Leonard's for some tasty malasadas. The lobby area is a little plain, but I like that it is partially open-air. I also like that there is an ABC store in the lobby area as well. I would definitely consider staying here again.

We have stayed in Waikiki in other hotels, but this one is the best so far, we had a room with ocean/ diamond head view it was amazing, the room itself is just a regular room , nice bathroom and clean, the rest of the resort is beautiful and big, the rooftop pools , bars lounge areas really gorgeous with amazing views of the beach across the street. The Big parking is a plus in Waikiki we never had an issue finding a spot.

We’ve recently returned from a 10 night stay at the Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort and highly recommend it. The Marriott is a well appointed hotel with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. It’s centrally located and within easy walking distance of everything you need in Honolulu, including the stunning beach which is right across the road. Housekeeping did a wonderful job as did all of the staff who work tirelessly to ensure an enjoyable stay. Special mention to the bar tender at the bar adjacent to the adults only pool, he maintained a steady supply of delicious Mai Tai’s which definitely contributed to our enjoyment of lazing by the pool. We’d happily stay here again and we probably will.

This is a huge sprawling hotel, with two towers connected by a shopping arcade. But check-in was a breeze and we found our room pleasant and agreeable, with a beautiful view of WAIKIKI BEACH in the distance. It was a bit short on amenities, though; we wished we had more lotion and the towels could be fluffier. Overall not much to complain, although finding a space in the parking garage was difficult at night. The whole resort has the feel of a cruise ship on land, if that's your thing, you will love the Marriott. There are lots of organized activities as well as free beach chair and boogie board rentals ('free' as long as you pay the mandatory resort fee). The location is excellent, just across the street from a superb stretch of WAIKIKI BEACH and at the edge of the busiest part of Kalakaua Ave, so it's a bit quieter than being in the center of all of the action but still very accessible. We had 1 breakfast in the Kuhio Beach Grill but opted out of the buffet and ordered a la carte instead, and the crab cakes Hollandaise were sublime. We appreciated live music in the lobby each night. You can tell by the architecture that the Marriott is a pretty old hotel, but the maintenance is top notch and it is up to Marriott's high standards of excellence.

So many wonderful things to say about our stay (one week) with this Marriott resort. Let's start with the location: right on Kalakaua Avenue with all the shops and restaurants. Super convenient, 2 ABC stores right on site. Several restaurants. Shops and free beach chairs, we simply walked across the street to enjoy Waikiki Beach. Starbucks and Honolulu Cookie Company were some of our favorites. The staff: Everyone we had interaction with was so helpful. From the front desk that secured a 2 PM late check out for us. To the bell desk that kept our luggage so we could enjoy the resort before heading to the airport. The breakfast at Kuhio Beach Grill each morning was simply amazing -- complimentary for our platinum elite status that included an omelet station, buffet of fresh tropical fruits, cereals, pastries, yogurts, oatmeal, etc etc. Superb wait staff that remembered your name and past conversations. The room: we got an ocean view king bed room with a generous balcony to enjoy the fresh air and gorgeous ocean view. The room was spacious and clean. Nice bathroom with a huge shower. Very quiet on the 17th floor. We did not hear any noise. Excellent sleep quality. Room was located on the Kealohilani Tower. Some nice amenities: water refilling station. Cut down on bottled plastic waste. 5 elevators so you wouldn't have to wait long. Convenient ride share pickup and drop off spot. On tour pick up location, so it made joining excursions easy. A+++ and well deserved.
