The Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites is a classic oceanfront hotel situated on the Ala Wai Yacht Marina at the edge of Waikiki and just a short stroll to Ala Moana Shopping Center and 2 blocks to the Hawaii Convention Center. We came back this year for our family staycation because we had so much fun last year! Rod was friendly and accommodating! We will definitely refer our friends and family to stay at the Ilikai. I love that there is a full kitchen!
Have been to HI almost every year and this was our first stay here. I was a little apprehensive before getting there, but was very pleased with all facets of our stay. They even give the newspaper every morning, and give coupons for free waters and Dave's ice cream down in the lobby. Didn't have a chance but really wanted to try Pesca's (the restaurant at the top). Will definitely try on our next stay at the Ilikai!
Took an inter island trip and needed to stay on this side of Waikiki. I spent a little more for the kitchen compared to nearby properties, but it was worth it. The hotel has nice pools, and the store, coffee shop, and restaurant were so convenient to have. Walking distance within Waikiki without being directly in the bustle of everything.
A good value for the money but can still see the property struggling from Covid issues. No room service or cleaning provided and the housemen are busy so when you request extra items it takes several hours to get them.
We’ve just spent nine days at the Ilikai in what is our third stay at the hotel. Using Covid as an excuse to not clean rooms has seen the hotel’s rooms deteriorate at a remarkable rate. It is no longer acceptable to simply say ‘oh we’re not cleaning your room because of Covid-19’. That time has surely past. Rooms smell damp, (and we are in a luxury suite), soft furnishings are marked and tired and the general hotel just doesn’t feel clean. Unfortunately, this will be our last stay. Definitely on the way down…a real shame as it is such an iconic building which deserves much better management.
Started our great. Seamless check-in, decent room. Then the "fun" begins: Loud parties, security does nothing. Occupants, on two consecutive evenings, smoking marijuana and once again spoke with the front desk and security and nothing was done.
Great location, staff was very nice, rooms were nice n clean, pool deck was very slick (not a good product for people to walk on w wet feet)! Restaurant upstairs was affordable for breakfast beds were uncomfortable
I used to live in Honolulu for over 20 years so I know the area very well! When we came back for our wedding we wanted an oceanfront view during our 2-week stay specifically between Ala Moana Shopping Center and the Waikiki Strip. We didn't want to be on the strip because of the congestion and it's much easier to get in and out of the city from where the Ilikai is. We absolutely loved it! The value for the price is there (especially considering the costs of the other hotels around it (Hilton and Prince Waikiki). We stayed on the 25th floor and could see the lagoon, the ocean, and diamond head! The parking was a bit expensive at $30/night + valet tip but honestly in Waikiki you're looking to pay that everywhere anyway. We had a large party overall renting about 5 suites in the building. Our other guests had everything from city view suites to lower level oceanfront. We saw all of their rooms and all of them were beautiful! Clean, well decorated and everyone was very satisfied! The lobby is gorgeous! The convenience store and shops are awesome! Not to mention Cinnamon's which is a local favorite breakfast spot with great options to try some local plates and flavors! Couldn't love the hotel more. Sometimes valet gets super busy but that's also to be expected. Would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!! …
First, it is important to note that some parts of this building are condos and some parts of the building are part of the hotel. We stayed in the hotel portion and it was lovely. We rented a two bedroom corner unit with both a beach and city view. The room was clean and well-cared for. The view was all we could have asked for with expansive balconies on both sides of the corner unit. The location was wonderful, located right off Wikiki Beach and on the harbor. Pros - location and spacious room with a kitchen. Cons - no A/C in the hallways which on upper floors makes it a bit humid and hot and currently no trash or towel services (because of Covid).
Not value for money on the room we were promised. Carpet filthy and stained. We were forced to change rooms due to a shower leak and were actually downgraded instead of upgraded. Owners did not seem to care about our inconvenience.
