Many travelers have mixed opinions about Hilton Waikiki Beach. Guests often express their dissatisfaction with the hotel's outdated decor and noise levels, due to poor window insulation and street noise. While amenities like beach chairs and food credits are appreciated, the pool area and room service are criticized. The hotel's location earns praise for its proximity to the beach and downtown area, but value for money is often questioned due to high additional costs. Housekeeping gets mixed reviews, with some guests praising the cleanliness while others note inconsistency. Despite these issues, the vintage charm and sizeable rooms with views are appreciated by some.

Hilton advertise that families can have adjoining rooms... The room my daughter was put in (down the hall) had a urine and public hair covered toilet seat... The beds had "we've cleaned the room" cards, but upon pulling back the sheets my child found more hair... She was given another room two floors below us... So much for clean rooms and keeping families together... It was so disgusting I would NEVER recommend this hotel... I booked this hotel with my family and the experience you get depends greatly on which room you get. Those who got rooms on a higher floor (beach view or mountain view) got cleaner rooms with better amenities (water kettle, better toiletries)... I got a room on the 9th floor (city view) which is the floor where the laundry room is located... Thankfully the front desk allowed us to change rooms after we pointed out the visible mildew on the ceiling... Each room has a small fridge (not minibar), a coffee maker, iron, safe, and hair dryer...

I really enjoyed the location but the room was interesting... I started to notice more and more that the room was extremely dusty... As I sat watching tv on the bed I started to notice dust bunnies just flying around the room... I actually believe the room made my allergies worse... During checkout I let the front desk know that the only complaint was the room was extremely dusty, didn’t really get much of a reaction, just brushed it away... I decided to go with Hampton Inn at Kapolei... No dust flying around the room...

...Hilton Waikiki Beach A hotel which is below Hilton standards... Also, radical cost cutting measures are in practice, as housekeeping is cleaning the rooms only on every 4th DAY ONLY!... Maybe that is the reason that the property is so gross... That breakfast is also very limited, includes about 6-8 items from the main menu and they are the cheaper ones (see pictures)... Right after the free cancellation passed, they discounted the same room by approx... Late checkout is not an option even for an extra fee, so you have to check out at 12 noon… They charge $25 resort fee per night for basically nothing, they say that’s why wifi is included... Please avoid this hotel as in this price category you can find other even 5 star properties!...

...A person can not sit in there or even relax because the chairs are right next to the pool and can not be moved so it is a constant being splased on... They should not be charging full resort fees for this hotel until everything is usable... I travel alot and I will not stay here again unless their big pool is usable... ...Those who got rooms on a higher floor (beach view or mountain view) got cleaner rooms with better amenities (water kettle, better toiletries)... The balcony (lanai) is spacious and clean and allows 2-3 people to chill and enjoy the Hawaiian breeze... The common areas of the hotel are in good condition and modern enough; the two pools and jacuzzi were clean (although noisy with kids running in and out of the hot tub)... The lobby had a filtered water dispenser and a beach/pool towel dispenser... Close enough to walk to the beach easily but far enough that the beach sand doesn't get tracked in everywhere...

About a block from Waikiki beach, it may be a choice to consider, though I think Hyatt or Marriott properties at the beach serve better. Customer service is good, but everything else is not worth a praise... If you want to trash removed from the room, they want you to put the trash outside the room and someone will remove the trash... + If you want shower towels, you need to request them and is only available when you are in the room (again no cleaning) + Floor appeared to be sticky on bare feet, may be someone before spilled some coke and was not well cleaned... + May be hotel is facing theivery apparently as per them, towels are RFIDed and tracked when used for pools or beaches... + No self parking available, at 50/night valet is available...

...A combination of erratic front-desk service, apparent short staffing and thus long lines in the (very good) restaurant, and cutbacks allowed by Hilton corporate (eliminating executive lounge, and daily housekeeping only on request)... It cost a little more, but the small difference well worth it in return for what was received... Hotel seemed to only discuss it when guests complained... Then the hotel claimed the system had been fixed and rooms would shortly get cool... Complained again, was told unless a room change to a lower floor was wanted, “we’re doing everything we can do.“ But I guess they weren’t doing everything they could do, because after I got pretty strong (but not unduly rude), they sent an engineer up, and he realized there was more to be done... Got on the television monitor the next morning, checked the folio, and the resort fee was still there...

Each room has a small fridge (not minibar), a coffee maker, iron, safe, and hair dryer... The balcony (lanai) is spacious and clean and allows 2-3 people to chill and enjoy the Hawaiian breeze... The common areas of the hotel are in good condition and modern enough; the two pools and jacuzzi were clean (although noisy with kids running in and out of the hot tub)... We had Hilton points so room was free... In-room coffee maker but no guest coffee service, and expensive Starbucks and restaurant downstairs the only option in the hotel... I am so glad I chose this hotel for my first visit to Waikiki. The price was very reasonable and I received a nice, ocean view room on the 31st floor... Had a small balcony, but only used it while having a cup of coffee in the morning while watching the surfing school... Every morning I went to the towel station (slick system), then signed out a beach chair at the bell station... The hotel is one block from the beach, about a 3-minute walk... It's a nice beach with calm waters for floating around... The strip has lots of stores and restaurants... There are several ABC stores in the 2 or 3-block radius where you can find sundries to souvenirs... The main shopping and dining strip is a very easy 10 minute walk... Every morning I ate in the restaurant on the main floor near the elevators and coffee shop... The staff were absolutely wonderful, and the breakfasts were delicious and very hardy... The pool is on the 10th floor but renovations were to be starting soon... The pool bar is also a great place to hang and have a bite to eat...

Hilton Waikiki Beach is a hidden gem. It is close to the beach, only 1 block or 3 mins walk to the beach. Staff are very friendly and made sure our holiday was one to remember. Great views from all rooms of the city or beach, depending on which side of the hotel you are on. Transportation is right out front of the hotel to Pearl Harbour, Diamond Head, major shopping and Hop-on-Hop-off busses. Perfect place to stay.

Pool and entire roof deck… where the mini golf and foosball is… is shut down for at least the next 11 days because of some sort of tile issue. 😭😭😭😭 It will apparently not be open for 11 days while we are here. They are not telling people that when they check-in. The lady who tried to get in the pool when we did tonight said she wouldn’t have checked-in if they told her. I feel the same way. We are diamond members. My husband often has long business trips here. Our family has stayed in this Waikiki Hilton multiple times… it is very nice. It’s the most upscale of the Hilton properties on this beach unless you get lucky and get in the Rainbow tower at the Hawaiian Village. This place has gone down some though. They used to always have this amazing shampoo that was made locally and smelled like coconuts and made me happy. Now it is some sort of awful generic shampoo. They’re cutting corners. This trip I decided to stay here instead of Hawaiian Village (where we stayed last time) partly because the roof pool is so fun at night. The Hawaiian Village has more resort amenities and is truly next to the beach. But, the rooms we got last year at Hawaiian Village were super outdated and the bathroom door was a shutter you could see through. (The Hilton Garden Inn is the worst… haven’t stayed there in years though so maybe they updated.) Anyway, I opted for this Hilton because I figured the rooftop pool and min- golf sort of made up for Hawaiian Village waterpark stuff. And now it’s not available. Now I’m stuck trying to entertain my kids half the day (while my husband works) without a pool or fun activities AND the beach access is the somewhat scary and dirty public beach you have to hike to… I understand these things happen… but you’ve got to take responsibility when they do. I asked the front desk if we could swim in a different Hilton. I was told “no.” They’re not really doing anything to make up for this major issue to their customers. If you have kids… this is a major issue. Get your customers resort privileges at a different Hilton or hotel. The “pool” downstairs is a lap pool the size of a postage stamp. That’s worthless. That does not makeup for this. I’ve talked to multiple very unhappy customers now. Fence off the pool with the tile issues so customers can at least use the hot tubs and games up there. If you have to pay an employee to sit up there all day to make sure no one falls in… so be it. Don’t be cheap. Looks like we will stay elsewhere next time. This is a management issue. They’re crediting us back the resort fee while it is closed. I guess that’s something. But, honestly I’d rather them find a way to open the hot tubs, mini golf and foosball. Or… get your customers privileges elsewhere. Also, they only credited me the resort fee because I complained. I bet most people won’t complain and will be stuck paying a ton of money with the only amenities a couple of DVDs.

We felt welcome from the minute we arrived, the swimming pool area was nice and brand new. The people at the front desk were welcoming and friendly as well as the people doing the valet service. My hotel room is extremely clean every time the room was cleaned it was a special occasion for example all of our shoes and flip-flops were lined up in perfect order. Toothpaste and toothbrushes were on a brand new towel.

Fantastic hotel, my second visit and just love it more. Our friends first visit to Honolulu and really enjoyed the hotel. Everything incredible, staff took fantastic care of us. Food breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommend this hotel and the position just perfect for us. We could walk everywhere and trolley bus stopped outside hotel.

On 10/4/23 at 11:00 am, another guest took my rental car from the valet and I had to wait 2 hours for the car to be returned. While valet staff apologized, they said that this happens regularly. I never received any kind of acknowledgement or compensation from the hotel management at the time. In addition, my sister called the front desk on 10/1/23 to request a room upgrade as a Diamond member which I didn't receive. Both of these incidents left a bad impression. The guest services manager responded to my Hilton Honors member complaint quickly and refunded me for valet and resort fees, and explained that the upgrade request was noted on my reservation but no upgrade rooms were available - however that was never communicated to me during my stay. My complaint was forwarded to the hotel's executive team but I still haven't received a response after a month.

This was a standard hotel. It wasn’t horrible but not too impressive. The pool was pretty disappointing and so was the food options. Views on the upper floors are pretty nice and it’s also a short walk from Waikiki beach. Overall a decent place to stay but could’ve been better.

DON'T STAY HERE! The name is very deceptive. This is not a beach resort, it is a total scam. The hotel is located in downtown Waikiki and is surrounded by nothing but concrete. The beach access is a few blocks from the hotel and it is a public beach. You will have to pay extra for lounge chairs and umbrellas. There are no amenities within the hotel like a cocktail/snack bar or coffee/pastry facility. We were told by the concierge and parking attendants that all activities we desired, we would have to go 3 to 5 miles away to another Hilton location for access. I reserved a room with a an ocean view and the their version of an ocean view is of a parking lot with a tiny sliver of a view of the ocean way off in the distance. How do you provide an ocean view when your location isn't even adjacent to the ocean or has direct beach access. ANOTHER BIG SCAM to be aware of is the various rates offered for booking and paying in advance. BE WARE - there are no cancellation options and they will not allow you to transfer your reservation. Then they will lie to you and say they will only charge you for one night for late cancellation but then never credit you for the rest of the prepaid reservation. I'm done with Hilton and am taking my business to Marriott!

The place was full of dust and had almost 3 pounds of dirt filled with dust and feather found under each queen bed. It appears that they never vacuumed sides and under the bed. Their regular room service cleaning is also once a week, so if you are staying for one week, you will have one cleaning day only. They charge resort fee on the top of your reservation payment. One would imagine getting a better service and at least a clean room with $250 nightly fee and $58 nightly resort fee. In my opinion, it’s dirty, dusty, and totally not worth the paid amount. From Hilton it only Carrie’s the name, but it’s a 2 star hotel framed as a 4 star.
