Went for our honeymoon and it was amazing. Clean rooms, beautiful view and good food! Our housekeeping was great, Kat was so sweet and awesome !!! She went above and beyond with our room services and made sure everything was clean and was just so hospitable. Would definitely go again !!
Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort is excellent. We have stayed here 17 plus times and it never disappoints. The resort is situated right on Waikiki beach across the road from the International Market Place, very convenient to restaurants and shops. Every time we arrive we feel like it’s home, Mikala and Malama at reception greet us like family, they are so welcoming and make us feel so special. Peter, Danny and Benjamin’s at the pool are just lovely, always so happy and helpful. Afternoon happy hour at the Hula Grill is a must for an early evening snack and a cold beer or cocktail and Pai’s Deli make the most delicious sandwiches and smoothies. And of course don’t forget a night out at Dukes. All within the Hotel. Just PERFECT! Our happy place.
Booked an oceanview room for a trip to Waikiki with my sister. I love, love, love the Outrigger Waikiki, and I have been a repeat and loyal customer since the early 1990's. Why do I come back after three decades? In my opinion, it is the best location on Waikiki beach from a swimming standpoint and the hotel being situated in the heart of "classic" Waikiki. That's because it was built in the 60's long before the rest of modern Waikiki. I love the easy access to the ocean and beach. Staff really work hard to make your day from the friendly bellhops, pool attendants, to the excellent housekeeping and the front desk staff. We had an oceanview room on the Diamond Head side and were able to check in early thanks to the front desk staff. Judy, on the 7th floor went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed in our room each day. We would start and end each day sitting on our lanai and watching the catamarans go in and out and just enjoying the gorgeous views and relaxing vibe. Have read some comments about rooms being slightly dated. I found the beds super comfortable and the room amenities great. I don't really concern myself while on vacation about the colour of the wall-to-wall carpeting or decor. It's not a deal-breaker for me. You're in Hawaii on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Outrigger always gets it right! …
Absolutely spectacular in so many ways. The location is perfect as it is comfortable walking distance to Waikiki main beach part, restaurants, convenience stores, mall, shops, and even Diamond Head if you are up for an adventure. The beach associated with the Outrigger is, in my opinion, easily the best area on the beach to swim, lounge/tan, play, surf, etc. for kids and adults. That is just the outside. The hotel itself is just as wonderful from the space and balconies, to the incredibly cleanly rooms because of their diligent and amazing housekeeping staff. Our checkin/out was seamless and the moment we arrived we were greeted with the warmest, and most welcoming attitude and demeanor. Questions were answered, suggestions were given, and most importantly we were well taken care of. Beyond happy this was the one we choose for our 10 year honeymoon return plus 2:)…
Our experience started off rough because we asked for a handicap accessible room but our room was not accessible to my wheelchair. We were quickly accommodated to a new room that was accessible. One of the valet staff (Troy Hiura) was extremely helpful and he went above and beyond what others did. Our trip was in March of '21 but the choices above do not go backb that far. We feel so well treated at the hotel, we will be using the same hotel when we return.
We always stay at The Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. Lili, our house keeper for the week was Awesome! She made sure our room was cleaned and stocked and was very attentive to anything we asked for or needed. Loved having her take care of us!!!
Amazing stay and relaxing family fun. Our room was always clean, and we loved Judy, who greeted us every morning with a beautiful smile. ALOHA. appreciate the time we spent, enjoyed Pearl Harbor, The turtle tour, Dole plantation the surf lessons with Sparky!
Our room was cleaned every day by Karen on the 10th floor. She’s excellent, really nice and always ready to help. everyone in the hotel and the nice gentleman they got my car every day were very very nice and helpful.
Very iconic place. Convenient location to the restaurants, beach and night entertainment. Family friendly hotel, pool and beach is easy access as its a beach front resort. I would recommend to get a room with the ocean view or get the ocean front to enhance the stay experience. Sunrise to sunset and the ocean waves are really soothing, gave us a very relaxing stay. Rooms are clean and amazing service. Lauren from housekeeping always greeted us on the hallway and made sure that we had enough toiletries in the room. Nicole from front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Cherwin and the rest of the crew from the cultural activities are very knowledgeable and left a remarkable experience.
We got off to a very aggravating start at Outrigger. It would have been nice if management told us ahead of time there was a street festival going on. The street was blocked off, and we couldn’t get to the valet. We were driving around for an hour trying to find how to get there and park. After calling the hotel they told us to park in this parking garage that we could not find because there was no address on the garage. We pulled in to multiple garages only to find out they were wrong. Finally we found the right garage. Then we had to haul our luggage through crowds of thousands of people for several blocks to get to the hotel. We were hot and tired. The front desk person was not sympathetic at all about this frustrating experience. She even lied and told us “when the government decides it wants to shut down the street at the last minute there is nothing we can do. “ This is a lie. This was a huge festival and the hotel would have definitely had to get notice. Why didn’t this hotel communicate this with us ahead of time??? Then the rude front desk person neglected to tell us how to use the elevators. We were fumbling around trying to figure it out taking rides up and down in the elevator and never being able to get to our floor. Then we got separated and couldn’t find each other for about 20 min. I was stuck without a key and no way to get to the right floor. I had to wait until my boyfriend came and found me. Finally after 2 hours we got to the room. The air conditioning wasn’t working. No instructions telling us the AC only works if the windows are closed. Is it really that hard for this hotel to communicate ANYTHING to the guests????? The whole place is carpeted (yuck), and it is virtually impossible to push your suitcases on the carpet. Then the shower head was loose and kept falling down to waist level. Even though we were in a hurry to get to dinner I had to call maintenance to fix the shower head. So we were late to dinner. The entrance to the pool area is kind of a dump. You have to walk through a gross back alley to get there. The room TV is not a smart tv. So you cannot watch movies without paying for them - old school. I should have picked one of the other nearby hotels which appear a lot nicer. The Outrigger looks run down. It was a mistake to save a few pennies by staying here. It’s run down, the staff is rude, and the management (and their communications) is poor. When we checked out they tried to charge me $200 extra for the resort and other fees that were supposed to be included in our rate from Trip Advisor. I had an email from Trip Advisor confirming they were included already. It didn’t seem to matter that I had that email. However, the lady didn’t really want to deal with it or me so she corrected the bill. I was never contacted by hotel management to apologize for any of these issues. Will not be staying here again. A shame since the location is great which is probably why they think they can treat their customers terribly. Except for the valets. They were great!…
