Loved the place it was easy to get around town. Very central and not too far to walk to most places. One thing I was not happy with was the unexpected $20 per night amenities fee I was not prepared for as I had pre paid for all my booked hotels while in the US and no other has charged... More

Finding accommodation in Waikiki in August for a family of four can be eye-wateringly expensive, especially if the exchange rate is working against you. The Ambassador provided us with a good solution. We shared two rooms next to each other, with partial views of the sea, and the kitchenette meant we could save money by preparing our own food. The... We stayed for 3 nights initially and were in a room on the 15th floor which was very clean, comfortable bed but the noisiest air-conditioner I have ever encountered. The hotel needs a good upgrade, painting and other general improvements. The staff were great and very obliging and there was a good tour desk. We stayed for another night on... More

Perfect location right before going into Waikiki. Has a great view where I stayed. The room was perfect for 3 of us. We had 3 twin beds, very spacious, had a small balcony. There a coffee shop down by the lobby & ABC store just around the corner. Walking distance to Waikiki and the beach.

The bed was poor quality and too small for two to sleep comfortably on; one of the ranchsliders in the living room couldn't be opened properly; the decor was tardy; and despite costing around $250 NZ dollars for the one night we spent there (with all the extra fees) they don't provide coffee or teabags. This hotel felt like a... More

We are currently staying in the ambassador hotel. Room negatives: -no tea or coffee provided in rooms which is much needed after a 22 hour flight from the UK - shabby kitchen units need updating - in need of modernising - no outdoor seating on balcony - lack of double glazing means we're getting very little sleep due to noise... After reading several reviews before our trip to Honolulu, i wasn't very sure if we would like our stay here, HOWEVER, my family and I have been loving our stay here. We received a renovated room on the 2nd floor w/ a nice balcony and a niece city view. Not at all how I read on other reviews. The staff... More

We loved our studio room at the Ambassador Hotel, it was equipped with a kitchen and living area, big balcony and very comfortable king size bed. It was our home away from home when we were filming for our cooking show, The Culinary Edge TV. We featured the Waikiki Parade. We loved it especially because everything was within walking distance... More

Hotel had all the basic necessities. It could use some upgrades but overall for the price the hotel was good. Customer service is overall good. We had to call twice for a broken remote because no one came down the first time we called. You get what you pay for.

We spent two nights at the Ambassador. I guess Hawaii allows anyone in Waikiki to call their hotel a resort. The hotel did not have parking for us the two nights we stayed there, and sent us to a parking garage. WE believe they charged our bill for the parking garage until the next morning when we got into a... More
