We were several times in Waikiki with our 5 people big family (3 kids in the age of 22,18,13).
The last times we were passing by the Royal Hawaiian and we promised ourselves to stay in this pink colored and so historical Hotel.
We stayed there for our 45th wedding anniversary. It was a dream of my wife to stay there. What a disappointment. It probably was well kept and run in when it was built, 90 years ago, it is showing its age and needs a refresh....More
We had a front row seat to the beach and sipped delicious cocktails enjoying a glorious sunset. I had a Royal Mai Tai which was divine. The service was a little slow which was not unexpected given how popular the place is, but it was...More
Third stay here and it was just as terrible as the first and the second time around

Expensive but awesome. The ambiance is unique. Beautiful inside and out. The perfect place for photos. It is on the beach with full access. Areas to sit and relax with beautiful views. Also plush grounds to stroll around. So much, so close.More

Amex Plat to book things is a pain even though they try they are going to recommend you to places on their bookings... They always get screwed up.. It's better to call and book things yourself... Ya the hotel staff in bookings seems always to be unorganized.... Every hotel their has those problems... It's better to go thought the gm than deal with the front desk... It's still a good hotel right next to everything... And u can walk to most things
Just be Ware that the cab divers there dive slow as possible to charge more their cab rates a rediculouse... If someone needs a wheelchair u been ordering ahead as most hotels there subcontract them for use...
Fyi u should ask locals about good food and don't go based on Amex rec or the hotels.
Roy's everyone recommends but it's super expensive and you will be there for hrs
Try the cook at the table deal across the street it's good
